And I'm sure this display of "passion, inner beauty, and charity" totally won't involve leftist virtue signaling with the fate of dissenters being seen across the way in Miss USA... I'd heard about them eliminating the swimsuit portion but this puts it into context. Definitely stupid.

2. I'm not much of a moviegoer and haven't seen much of her work but even I immediately thought of how similar her character in Sweeney Todd and her portrayal of Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter looked. Which I should add isn't at all how I imagined her from the books - she was murderous and insane but I never got the impression she looked as crazy as she was! Either way it's not a good choice.

3 and 4. This kind of behavior borders on sociopathic, if not actually crossing that line. That these people see this as acceptable shows just how f*cked up they are.

5. I just think it's funny that Carlson thinks this meat show can be converted into a contest of "passion" and "inner beauty." That's a bit like saying we're going to convert a demolition derby into a classic car show by looking past the rough state of the cars and listening to the drivers describe what they would have done to fix them up.AndrewPricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11312364467936820986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251675227852122352.post-90223553739722008842018-06-06T15:08:02.894-04:002018-06-06T15:08:02.894-04:00I'm not surprised about the Miss America pagea...I'm not surprised about the Miss America pageant. I hate political correctness in all it's forms but I've thought for years that it was on it's last legs. I don't care about it one way or the other and I've never watched it but it seems like a relic from a bygone time. Having women walk around in two piece suits... And what the ____ is the point of the evening gown portion? You just had a bathing suit competition. The whole thing is basically a glorified meat show, or so it seems to me. I think this was inevitable.
GypsyTygerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251675227852122352.post-65031673322278630972018-06-06T12:56:35.713-04:002018-06-06T12:56:35.713-04:00tryanmax,

But like everyone else who inherits something they don't fundamentally understand, she's in for a rude awaking. Of course, she'll be sure it wasn't her fault, but the end is nigh.

If they think they can do a female Dr Who, then I'm sure a female James Bond is coming. I'll skip both.

That's true about the condolences. What's interesting to me about it is that (1) it's bullying, (2) it flies in the face of their normal thinking that it's the thought/motives that count rather than actions and (3) it's ultra-judgmental. It makes their stereotypes of religious people seem like indifferent beatniks by comparison.

I'll talk about the election tonight. Things didn't actually go well for them. (That's called a teaser.)
AndrewPricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11312364467936820986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251675227852122352.post-19746232933249843482018-06-06T12:52:02.162-04:002018-06-06T12:52:02.162-04:00Anthony,

(Really, would you put anything past Hollywood these days?)

Lefties think it’s cool to mock condolences for some time now. They don’t need your [expletive] thoughts and prayers. They need action! Legislative action, that is. Who says the left isn’t religious?

It looks as though things went well for the Democrats in California, none of the hoped-for Democrat shut-outs occurred. Miss America's ratings have been dropping sharply in recent years and like all broadcast events have been trending downward for decades.

Best just to cancel the whole thing rather than to make it no longer about beauty.

2. I confess I have no idea who the person you named is but for my money Bond hasn't faced an interesting villain since Casino Royale and the last two Bond movies were just trash. Bond has stopped becoming something I watch in theaters and become something I watch on cable.

3) Political types attacking each other is pretty much the way of things.

4) Once again, no idea who Kate Spade is but the suicide of ordinary people (vs terrorists, child molesters or what have you) is a tragic thing.

5) That is funny.
