For those who don't know, my mother has produced a cookie cookbook. Buy it. You won't regret it.
Seriously, there are some amazing cookies in this that none of your friends have ever heard of. It's well worth the price. Click here to buy (LINK) or leave a review. You won't regret it.

The link is fixed.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for those looking to laugh at Obama, check out this article: LINK. This is how the news is starting to cover the "5%ers." (People who will lose the policies Obama said they could keep.) Ha ha.
I'm getting hungry just from reading the preview... The Stars and Chips Forever cookies look and sound tasty and the thumb prints look like something some of my family members might make. I'm not sure I'm ready to graduate from pre-made cookie dough and the kind you make from powder yet, but I'll try to make sure at least someone in my family gets to read it! =)
ReplyDeleteBTW, Andrew, have you caught the latest South Park? I know you don't watch it much, but when I saw Obamacare, Miley Cyrus, and Tom Brady all get skewered in one episode it reminded me of the discussions here. Catch it if you can, it's still available on the site last time I checked!
- Daniel
Daniel, Excellent! There is a paperback coming, but it might not be cheap. The last we heard, it was likely to be $14.99, but we're trying to find a way to cut that (they have minimum pricing based on production costs).
ReplyDeleteI have not seen that South Park, but I'll definitely look for it. I catch the show sporadically. I enjoy it when I see it, but it's on at bad times for me so I only see maybe a third these days.
Ouch, that is a bit steep, though not unusual from what I've seen of your work and a few books a friend of mine published on Amazon. I don't mind digital reading myself, though it would be a lot easier if the Kindle app just stayed installed on my laptop... Well, hopefully I'll be able to catch up on things soon.
ReplyDeleteI do think you'll enjoy this SP, though I don't know how much longer it's going to be up at the site before it gets pulled for a month or so due to their contract with Comedy Central. Regardless, I did find it interesting that they skewered a policy and two celebrities who rarely come out of Commentarama unscathed all in one episode! There's just something amusingly strange about that...
- Daniel
Daniel, Yeah, it is. It's about $5 higher than my mother was hoping. The problem is that it will be 7x10 (which is large), over 100 pages, and full color. I haven't given up yet though on getting a lower price. I'll let you know if we can pull it off.
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely favorite targets at Commentarama... well deserved targets.
Yeah, I can see where that would drive up the cost. Good luck with getting the lower price, though! If anyone can pull it off, you two can.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yeah, I noticed, and I can't say they're undeserving either. I don't follow sports enough to know much about the Patriots, but you can't really get away from either the latest Obamacare screw-up or latest screwy thing Cyrus did that easily. Smiley Virus indeed...
- Daniel
Daniel, We'll see. We wanted to put a $9.99 price on it, but that's probably not possible.
ReplyDeleteSmiley Virus indeed. She's got real issues. And right now she's desperate for the wrong sort of attention. She's on the Lindsay Lohan plan...
As for the Patriots, they are cheaters, Tom Brady is one of the most arrogant QBs in the league, and the networks suck up to them so much that it becomes annoying.
Not sure what the problem is with Obamacare though? ;-)
Lindsay Lohan came to mind for me too. I don't know what's worse, the fact that so many child stars end up like this or the feeling that this seems to be more or less normal for them these days. Regardless, it's sad.
ReplyDeleteThat explains a lot about the Patriots, and it sounds despicable. Around here I usually don't hear much more than the usual fan commentary about how the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons are doing (not great this year, it seems), so I don't hear much about the other teams. You'll definitely enjoy Tom Brady's appearance on South Park, though, I'm sure of that! >:)
Aside from the broken site, people losing coverage, some people I know getting laid off because of it, the cronyism, and the Republicans still not offering any real counter to it, you mean? No, I can't think of what the problem is either! =)
- Daniel
Daniel, I think it's just a problem of very immature people with too much money and too many people kissing their butts.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are many reason to hate the Patriots. The Falcons are really falling apart this year!
Oh, THOSE problems. Nobody cares about those. ;-P
That's definitely a part of it. Another blog that I read frequently talks about how isolated Hollywood is from the real world, so it's not surprising that this sort of craziness would happen when you think about it. It doesn't make it any less sad to see, though at the same time I think I'm sort-of becoming numb to these Lohan/Cyrus/Bynes/etc. meltdowns because they happen so frequently (and I'm not a big follower of celebrity news anyway). What that says, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that way about the Patriots, and all the Falcons fans I know are as disappointed as you'd think. I just never could get into sports in general, though. I remember watching and enjoying a few hockey games as a kid, as well as catching the odd bit of a Braves game with my mom, but I couldn't really get into it. I had to attend a few Bulldogs football games when I was at UGA, too, and they were a blast, but when I figured out that the dorm laundromats were practically deserted on game days I found that I didn't miss them too much after all.
Haha, true, nobody cares about those with things like the newest Kardashian engagement and of course those filthy, elusive RINOs! Why are we even worrying about it at all? =P

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***
ReplyDeleteYes, it's that time of the year again. Daylight Savings Time Change. Don't forget to "fall back" on Sunday, Nov. 3 and spend that extra hour at CommentaramaPolitics or CommentaramaFilms!
This message has been brought to by the Management of CommentaramaPolitics and its many outstanding affiliates.
***End transmission ***
Daniel, Hollywood really is isolated. Plus, once these people hit it big they end up even more isolated and they end up surrounded by people whose job it is to tell them how great they are. That's bad.
ReplyDeleteBev, Arg. I wish they would stop playing with our lives.
ReplyDeleteAndrew - But this is the good daylight savings time. We get back that hour the government stole from us in March and they can't tax us for it either!
ReplyDeleteBev, True, but I just want them to stop tinkering with my life. Seriously, how insane is it that the government decides, "Today it is one hour later than it used to be." That sounds like something out of a dictator parody film... like so much of our government these days.
ReplyDeleteEl "Obama" Hefe: "I am now making you buy insurance that you do not want... with less coverage than you had before... at twice the price... you may now be thanking me."
silence
El "Obama" Hefe: Why are the teeming masses not applauding?
Carne Esada: They are ungrateful El Hefe. They do know know what is good for them.
El "Obama" Hefe: Perhaps we should drone a few of them to remind them?
Andrew, Obama puts Groucho to shame. And makes Karl proud.
ReplyDeleteAndrew - You could always move to Arizona. They do not use DST. I guess they have enough daylight that they don't need anymore. Probably El "Obama" Hefe will probably drone them first...
ReplyDeleteKarl... the least funny of the Marx Brothers.
ReplyDeleteBev, If WWIII broke out right now, Obama's target list would start like this:
ReplyDelete1. GOP HQ
2. Hillary's house
3. Arizona
4. stop to make peace
5. Everyone else on the planet.
I'd say you forgot Texas, but maybe even Obama knows that You Don't Mess* with Texas.
ReplyDelete(We all know what they want to say.)
Yeah, it's kind of funny how everyone knows that "Mess" is just a placeholder for a different four letter word. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHere's another one: LINK
ReplyDeleteThis is all very bad for Obama now that the AP is going after this story in full whine mode... "All these poor people who are about to get hurt!"
Andrew - you know, it's all our fault. We didn't warn anyone. Oh wait, we did...
ReplyDeleteBev, It's funny how many articles I've seen this week which said, "The Republicans were screaming about this the whole time and, I guess, well, they were right."
ReplyDeleteAndrew - this is one of my favorites on HuffPo. I went back and read some of his nasty take downs of the Tea Party and through a lot of it back at Mr. Ostroy. Needless to say, none of my very well conceived posts did not make it passed the censors at HuffPo. My favorite was how he waxed poetic right after the ACA passed about how the Dems owned it. I challenged him to stand by that now...
ReplyDeleteLINK
Bev, Isn't it interesting that Huffpo censors comments just because they disagree with them. So much for free speech and the open exchange of ideas.
ReplyDeleteAndrew said: "Tom Brady is one of the most arrogant QBs in the league."
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Andrew, what do you expect? He's a graduate of the University of Hell. He was there when Coach Satan was still alive to give him advice. Those players and their fans are very definition of arrogant. (But, unlike Penn State, they actually have some substance to back up their claims.) Honestly, I'm not too crazy about how things went down for them today n East Lansing, because having them (previously?) undefeated when my alma mater beats the ever-living crap out of them at the end of the regular season and they wish their parents had never met makes it all the sweeter...
However, I do think it's now clear who's wearing the pants in the Legends Division.
As for the Hatriots, well, my Steelers will be in Gillatte Stadium tomorrow. And I'm not making any plans for a victory party afterwards.
Rustbelt, Every time I've seen Brady, I just want to smack the smug off his face.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, probably shouldn't plan on a victory party tomorrow. That said, they are very beatable this year.
Andrew....and Bev; The HuffPo article comments are awesome. I love the new spin from these sheep that O'care was "a Republican plan!" "A Heritage Foundation Plan." "A RommneyCare Plan." Just shows how they mindlessly follow the latest excuses for what is fast becoming "The Democrats Plan."
ReplyDeleteI hope that this will hurt the brand for the Dems, yet I doubt it. People will rationalize (delude themselves) that they were right all along and it's the Repubs fault that O'care is an epic fail.
I'm actually enjoying all that's going on now. What's the word?...... Schadenfreude? As Nelson from the Simpsons would say: "HA Ha"
Andrew......What do you think of this author's idea? Is it similar to your Agenda for healthcare? (Sorry...can't do links!)

ReplyDeletePatriot, I'm loving the schadenfreude on this. It's fantastic to watch liberals see their dreams implode and start casting about for villains to describe the very thing they were bragging would save us all soon.
ReplyDeleteOn the healthcare plan, I don't like it. It's just Obamacare using pre-tax dollars. His plan includes a mandate, so it will make us hypocrites (plus, you see how well that's working), it does nothing to reduce medical costs either, and it does nothing to expand access because it doesn't address the people who can't get insurance or who lose it.
"Every time I've seen Brady, I just want to smack the smug off his face."
ReplyDeleteAndrew, you crack me up!
Thanks TJ. :) I do though. I can't stand Brady.
