This explains so much...

Japanese scientists at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University have recently discovered that a slimy deep-sea marine worm known commonly as the acorn worm shares about 70% of its DNA with humans. This explains so much about our political class...

Speaking of slimy sea worms masquerading as human politicians, here is a quote from Hillary Clinton in an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News yesterday:
“Director Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the emails.”

—Hillary Clinton, interview on “Fox News Sunday,” July 31, 2016
This is just not true. FBI Director Comey said just the opposite. Though, there is some parsed-out legalistic truthiness to her statement. In his statement at his Congressional hearing on July 7, 2016, Director Comey would not speculate on whether she lied to the public. When asked by House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), he said:
“I really don’t want to get in the business of trying to parse and judge her public statements. And so I think I’ve tried to avoid doing that sitting here. … What matters to me is what did she say to the FBI. That’s obviously first and foremost for us.”
And surprisingly at least two liberal media sources back up that her statement was just not true. Politifact gave her Fox News statement a big "Pants On Fire" rating and WashPo gave her 4 Pinocchios. Others have just ignored her statement to concentrate on the "Trump-Khan" word slimes of 2016.

Let's discuss this, or something else. I am sure that Trump will give us a new topic if we run out.

Oh, and as a side note, when I was looking for photos of the acorn worm in a Google search, for some reason this photo was right smack-dab in the middle. I have no idea why it was there in the middle of all of the phallic-looking worms. But from the look on its dignified, little puss, it's probably annoyed to be in the same company as all of these politicians...er...acorn worms. I think you can appreciate the sentiment.

  1. I just want to say, either of my two cats would make better candidates than both Clinton and Trump.

  2. Kit, I actually believe that the acorn worm would make a better candidate, but here we are. That's why I lean toward SMOD2016.

  3. Bev, Seriously!? On with the SMOD again, I see. Now you've truly baffled me. An acorn worm has so much more in common with Cthulhu! Especially in appearance. This partisanship is more than I can handle.

  4. Human shields are all the rage this week! First, the DNC hides their candidate behind Khizr Khan. Then, #KorrynGaines has a five-hour armed standoff with police with her 5-yr-old son on her lap. These crazy fads!

  5. A worm? Give me a break. Obviously, our political class are alien from the planet Rectalheadipahtorous. All except Hillary, who comes from The Loin of Jackass, a world in the Corruptashell system.

  6. Nice phallus reference, btw. :) That should be Hillary's now I am woman slogan: "Fallus Failus."

  7. Now, here's a comparison that's not being made in the news. This is getting passed around Facebook. A Comparison of Clinton and Trump's Tax Plans

TL;DR: Trump's tax plan would put an extra ~$868.00 a month in taxpayer pockets based on ~$75,000 of taxable income.

But who wants extra money from a Stinky McStinkface?

  8. tryanmax, Thanks for the info, but I think no one is listening...

Liberals: But rich people will make more and Trump is a racist for hating Muslims and Mexicans and women! And even if he gives people money, it's not because he wants to! It's dirty money! //pretends to break down crying

Trump people: Weeeeeeeeee! This is fun! Somebody hold ma beer, I'm gonna try sumthin!

Anti-Trump People: He offended a Democrat Muslim for God sakes! The monster! And all the liberal networks are telling me that everyone hates him and everything he does it wrong!! He says mean things!! I hate him so much!!! //breaks down crying

tryanmax + 1% of public: He's an ass, but he's running an interesting campaign. I wonder if it will work?

99% of Americans: Whatever. What's on the other channel.

  9. Tryanmax: I have to admit Cthlu...hmm, Cthtul...er...Cthulhu (finally) does bear a more striking resemblance. However, I can spell SMOD, so I'm going with SMOD. Hey, don't judge me! We all have our own particular ways that we come to our vote decisions.

  10. Tryanmax (again): First of all, I take GREAT umbrage that you should bring up actually "policy issues" on this blog site! But since you did, I must respond.

As for lowering taxes as Mr. Trump preposes, I don't NEED more money from lowering taxes that will give me on average $868 more dollars in my pocket! I will just spend it on stuf...oh, wait, that's a great plan.

Well, Andrew, I missed most of the fun yesterday...;-)

  12. Seriously...Planned Parenthood tweeted this about Trump. Stunning lack of self awareness. Whoever posted that tweet should be relieved of their duties...

Add babies to the list of people @realDonaldTrump would kick out of his campaign rallies.

    ReplyDelete
  13. So, let me get this straight… Kicking babies out of the womb, good. Kicking babies out of campaign rallies, not so good. I feel like if I take enough notes I can get this whole "Progressive" thing down.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Also, I can actually respect picking a candidate based on ease of spelling.

    ReplyDelete
  15. "Kicking babies out of rallies" = bad
"Ripping babies apart limb from limb inside the womb" = GREAT! Needs government funding, too.

  16. Hey, did you hear about the blithering moron who gave Trump his Purple Heart? What a jackass! I mean, Gold Star families, they're absolutely off-limits, as all good people know. But Purple Heart recipients, what the hell did they ever do? Screw them! Real heroes don't get wounded. They either get captured or killed. See, I'm getting this leftist shit figured out!

  17. This from CNN -- Khan to Trump: 'Put that Purple Heart back'

Seriously, Trump needs to lay off of the Khans. He's the only thing keeping the story alive.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Trump needs to kick it all Kerry-style, throw the medal over the White House wall.

Dang, tyranmax, thinkin' lefty _is_ easy! Of course, I was one for a few years, but has been awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  19. tryanmax, I feel your pain. The bias and hypocrisy are intense. Take the Purple Heart.

    1. Stories begin to appear that Trump told this Veteran he always wanted one and this was an easy way to get it. The reporter is shocked he could be so insensitive.

    2. Conservatives everywhere start to condemn him, as do veterans groups, who are taking the position that you can't even respond to an attack from the parents of veterans without being evil. So telling this to a veteran was pure evil.

    3. The left all rush to microphones to condemn him. He's dangerous! He'll kill us all. He doesn't even respect veterans... this from a people who have made a fetish out of smearing veterans.

    4. About 10 hours later, I catch the local news where they show more of Trump's speech. What was reported as a sleight was obviously a joke. In the rest of the speech, Trump talks about how honored and amazed he is to receive that medal from the veteran.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't like Trump, but the attacks on him are pure venom and near total lies and distortions. And it's made easier for the left to get away with it because conservatives are giving them cover... as they have with every other attack liberals have made my entire life.

Trust me, there were thousands of conservatives carrying the liberals' water against Ford, Reagan, Bush, Dole, W, McCain and Romney. It seems to be the conservative way to help liberals smear conservatives. Not sure why. Liberals don't do that.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Andrew, amen to all of that. I was just discussing with my wife how ridiculous Trump is, but the attacks are so outlandish and distorted, even for Trump, we feel compelled to correct them.

I think there's a lot of impulse among prominent conservatives to prove that they're good people (which is why I've been mocking the phrase lately). What they don't seem to get is that good people are loyal. They'll never be seen as good if they aren't seen as loyal.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Trump is behaving like a childish dolt, which makes the attacks, however outlandish and distorted, far more effective. I'm sorry, but that is how politics works.

Ford, Reagan, and Bush didn't go out of their way to get into spats with Gold Star Families (never a smart thing, always goes badly). That is why you have surrogates and Breitbart.com.

Oh, and now he's also lashing out at McCain and Paul Ryan. And Fire Marshals. He's targeting just about everyone except for Hillary Clinton.

As for conservatives, National Review refused to issue endorsements in 1960 or 1972. At no point in the past year and a half has Trump proven to me that he would govern in even a half-competent way. He is alarmingly uniformed about the world around him and has a temperamental, deeply insecure ego that causes him to randomly lash out and start feuds for no discernible reason.

The Khans were a trap, an OBVIOUS TRAP. Any politician worth their salt would've seen what it was and Trump walked right into it. Trump has only himself to blame for what has happened over the past few days.

    Only himself.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Seriously, the Khans thing is hurting him:
    (1) It makes him look like an insecure, ego-driven little brat (which he is).
    (2) It makes him look like a bully who attacks families that lost a son to the war in Iraq.

    And most importantly...

    (3) IT DISTRACTS FROM HILLARY CLINTON!!!

Really, on Monday Hillary Clinton flat-out lied about what Comey said but Trump was too busy yammering on about the Khans. I can picture how it went...

Aide: "Mr. Trump, I think you should see this statement made by Hillary Clinton about Comey—"
Trump: "Too busy tweeting about how the Khans attacked me. They hit first! Sad!"

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm calming down.

I have a post coming up Friday. I'll post my thoughts in full, then.

Hopefully, Trump will have gone back to attacking Hillary.

    ReplyDelete
  25. tryanmax, I hate defending Trump, and I've largely stopped because no one is listening on any side. But every once in a while I get tired of the obsessive attacks against him from right and left. It reminds me of the lunatic right after Obama got elected. Obama couldn't wave at a crowd without someone seeing a plot to destroy America. It honestly made me want to defend Obama too.

  26. Kit, One of the things I found as an attorney was that if a client wanted to hate someone, they found a way... every single day, in every single issue, over and over and over. And while nothing they came up with made sense to normal people, they were CERTAIN they had proven that their enemy was Satan himself.

Take a step back, buddy. Breathe.
