UN Hijinks

Just a brief issue to discuss because I am pressed for time this week. The UN General Assembly has been going on in NYC the last two weeks. It's the usual postering, but this hit the news this morning. LINK

Yeah, a UN working group of "experts" on people of African descent with chairman Ricardo A. Sunga, of the Philippines, issued a statement that the US should pay reparations for slavery. Seriously, we have children literally dying in the streets of the Middle East and drowning trying to flee the horror right now in front of the UN General Assembly, and the UN chooses to demand the US pay for the ills of our sordid past. Please can we just expel the UN from the US and force them to relocate to Aleppo where they belong?

How about a "Caption This" just for fun -

Is this really the end of civilization as we know it?

Let's discuss this or any other topic of interest...

  1. I think that the UN could relocate to a worker's paradise like Cuba. And we need to withdraw representation and funding. Let it crumble. Give the land that the building is on back to the Rockefellers who donated it.

  2. I'm with LL, the UN our of the US...btw, I was stationed with some UN troops once, I think they were from Senegal, they couldn't find their butts with both hands and a flashlight. The most useless organization I can think of other than the Clinton Foundation.

  3. The General Assembly passes a lot of stupid, often symbolic things which do little more than generate either incredulous or gloating headlines.

Also, while the UN is composed of a lot of disparate parts, the real power in the UN (which isn't much, its by design an organization subordinate to nation states) is with the Security Council.

  4. It turns out that the Turkish guy that shot up that mall had voted 3 times illegally, he wasn't a citizen..but the left will tell you this never happens.
