Alright, Let's Ease Back Into This Thing...

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Good, I trust? Here are some easy random thoughts to stretch your mind and get you back into the week.

Viva La Dictator: Castro died. Good. He never amounted to much more than a murderous thug. I would rank him with the likes of Idi Amin, Robert Mugabe, Kim Il Sung, Papa Doc Duvalier, Saddam Hussein. As always, the left loved him because he was photogenic and spoke in idealistic terms as he rounded up his enemies and put the torch to the institutions that made his country run. But hey, he did create an ice cream store where anyone could get cheap ice cream, so he wasn't all bad. Let them eat ice cream as Cuba burns...

Colin Crapernick: Kapernick praised Castro for his education policy. Interesting. So should we praise Hitler for his highway policy or his policy on women in the workforce? Stalin for his emphasis on science? Mao for his policy on leaping forward? Idiot. Do yourself a favor, Colin: STFU until you actually learn something.

Ha ha, wrong: Amazon is running these tolerance commercials, like the one with the Muslim and the Catholic praying together and then buying each other knee pads so they could pray more easily. Oh, how special. Anyways, they have a new one involving some kid who looks like a girl and is dressed like a girl, but apparently is male, but surprisingly isn't accepted by the other kids. The commercial describes him as "shy." Gee, I wonder why he's shy? Anyways, his neutered father buys him a superman costume and suddenly the kids gather around him happily. So is the message that commercialism makes you popular? Should we judge people on what they wear or own? Or is it that dressing your kid like the wrong sex is pathetic and the kid is better off dressed in a fantasy costume? Not sure, but none of this seems like the point they wanted to make. And why does the kid looks like Danny from The Shining?
REDRUM REDRUM!!

Speaking of Wrong: Covergirl is using some "male" model in their ads. It's an obnoxious ad and the "male" looks like a freak and acts like a freaky drag queen. It grossed out my daughters. This is not the way to do whatever the heck they were trying to do. Yada yada tolerance freak you out beatches! Tolerance! TOLERANCE! BUY OUR SH*T YOU INTOLERANT BASTARDS!!!

Black Friday Is A Mistake: Several deaths nationwide from Black Friday. The problem is that something that encourages people to fight and act crazy in public will draw out people who want to fight and act crazy or who don't have the values not to act like animals. Encouraging that is stupid.

Not As Good: I don't like the new Most Interesting Man in the World as much as the last. This one seems to lack the class of the last. The commercial they've given him also seems a tad condescending and not very clever. If this one came first, I don't think the campaign would have caught on.

Warm Up Stretches: All right, to get you back into things, let's do some warmups. I'll have some good things to say about Trump later in the week. But I think his spokeswoman is a disaster. She needs to STFU about Romney and stop shooting off without thinking. Also, who knew the Green Party worked for Clinton? So much for any credibility they have. Oddly, Obama has finally been acting like a President lately. Too bad for him he didn't start earlier... he might have a legacy other than his race.

  1. Thanksgiving was good but it would've been better if my parents and I hadn't gotten sick from bad leftovers! It was like that Seinfeld episode where he says, "I haven't thrown up since June 25th, 1980!" Needless to say, Saturday was unpleasant for all of us. Then I had to fly across the country today!

I had a layover in Denver of all places. It was only for 30 minutes. Hell, if I didn't have to be at work tomorrow, I would've tried to grab a drink with you.

My parents also celebrated their birthdays. My mom turned the big 6-0 so she and dad rented a limo. They had never been in one. We took it around town for a couple hours, including a stop to eat... at Chick-fil-A. (We're easy to please!)

And as per usual, I went out on Black Friday. I buy online but I do enjoy being among the crowds. Can't explain it.

    Anyway, back to the grind.

  2. Hi Scott, I'm sorry you got sick, but think about what happened to the turkey! ;)

I like crowds myself too, depending on the crowds. I just think it's stupid to encourage people to fight. And you're seeing the effects at WalMarts all over the country where the poor values crowds congregate to fight and sometimes shoot it out over parking spaces.

Good for your parents! My dad got a limo at his 60th as well. That was fun. Although, I found the limo to be very uncomfortable.

  3. P.S. Don't forget to stretch your brain. :)

  4. The only way I will stay out of the leftover turkey and dressing is for someone with a big stick to hit me every time I approach the fridge...

  5. Trump is claiming he lost Virginia, California and New Hampshire due to voter fraud. The only thing worse than a whiny, delusional loser is a whiny, delusional winner.

  6. All I did black Friday was by a few games digitally. I'm not willing to fight mobs of frantic people for a deal.

  7. Anthony. The whiny ones are Stein and Clinton who insist there weeks out to demand a recount. After spending weeks before vehemently excoriating Trump for not guaranteeing that he would concede the election before the vote.

I predict that once they start the recount they will find a large amount of illegal voters and it will shut down fast...

  8. Yeah, Clinton and Stein are whiners too.

  9. On Castro, the media isn't even trying anymore. They're singing the praises of an affirmed dictator while fretting that Trump will be a despot. There is a sliver of difference between an authoritarian and a totalitarian. It says a lot that the left adores the former but dreads the latter.

On Black Friday, just the "door buster" ads are crazy. It's as if they're saying, "come tear our store down!"

On Thanksgiving, I guess I take for granted that my mom usually sends me home with several tupperwares full of leftovers. Didn't happen this year. 😭

On Recounts, It's apparently cool when Stein and Clinton assert voter fraud, but it's insane when Trump echoes the same thing. But then, like I said, the media isn't trying anymore. But that's not the funny part. The funny part is that, prior to the election, Trump refused to commit to accepting the results. Now that he's won, people are shocked that he isn't accepting the results? Seriously! The guy says exactly what he means to do and yet everyone is shocked when he does it. He's like Obama x1000!

  10. FYI I have been stuck at the airport since 5am and won't get home until...well, I am not sure yet! So no post for tomorrow from me.

  11. What happened, Bev? Were you smuggling meats?

    1. I think it was the collective weight of all the leftover mashed potatoes that caused the airport to break...

  13. In any event, I wish you a safe and happy flight. :)

  14. tryanmax, That's true. The media isn't trying anymore. Yes, they throw out a proforma "We're not biased!" but beyond that, they just don't care.

The recount thing just shows the utter depth of their hypocrisy.

I love leftovers on Turkey Day as well. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

  15. Let's see...

1 and 2. I don't think Castro's missed outside of insulated far left types with a seriously skewed view of things. As for combining them into two, apparently the crowd in Miami booed the Hell out of Kaepernick over his Castro statements. I can't say I feel sorry for him after all he's pulled.

3 and 4. I wish I could say I wondered who thought it was a good idea to run those ads, but then I remembered that the people who come up with and greenlight this crap are more concerned with virtue signaling than actually doing an effective job at whatever it is that they were hired for. And to think we get to put up with more and more of this until1 we get a Democrat president again. Oh joy of all joys... Wonder when Larry Correia's next book bomb is.

    5. Don't get me started on Black Friday... I survived three of them in a row as a feces scrubber in Walmart and I've seen the madness firsthand, though thankfully I missed fistfights over $1 towels that the store manager and the cops had to break up one year. If you've got a shopping event that require police presence and a fire marshal that's notorious for violence and insanity you've definitely got a problem. Sadly, I don't see it going away any time soon since, if anything, it's been thoroughly infecting Thanksgiving itself these past few years. I'm glad doing Black Friday online orders is purely optional at my current job and, needless to say, I'm not in any hurry to even do that much.

    5. Haven't seen any of the new ones or any of the old ones so no comments here.

    6. Looking forward to the commentary on all counts. Yeah, I had to shake my head at the recount push... Maybe the Green Party thinks it owes the Clintons for Nader taking enough of Gore's votes to where Bush got in? Either way I hope the public is watching this meltdown and that the right never lets them or the left forget it.

As for my Turkey Day weekend all went well. Attendance was a bit lighter at my family's this year which was fine by me - I've never been much about crowds and I can never remember anyone beyond my aunt, uncle, cousins, and a few others. I didn't see many online deals that interested me this year either, both on Amazon and on Steam, but I did get a few game preorders that I wanted at a reduced price. And if you don't mind me asking, Anthony, what games did you get? I'm always up for new recommendations. And for the record said preorders were Tales of Berseria and the big one I've been wanting... The Persona 5 collector's edition...which, sadly, I won't be getting in time for my birthday anymore. Oh well.

  16. Daniel,

I bought The Sims 4 (I enjoy the Sims, but my daughters are much bigger fans), Just Dance 2017 (ditto) and a Populous type game named Reus.

I bought that last one for myself, but haven't gotten to it yet since I am currently juggling Overwatch, Darkest Dungeon and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir.

I'm really looking forward to P5 as well. I've been a huge fan of the Persona/Megaten games since Nocturne.

  18. While Castro never made it to the levels of Mao or Stalin, he sure tried and hopefully they are sitting together in hell watching lawyer ads for an eternity...of course with the whole fire and lake of sh!t, etc. etc.

As for Kapernick, talk about being kitty-whipped (just in case this is a family blog).

I took the Amazon ad for the father being fed up with his wife trying to gentrify his son making him into a little pussy. MAN UP, SUPERMAN! See Trump is already having an effect on us men. Where's the women? I need to grab me some *slap*

I'm so confused about this whole transgender bullskip. Are they rare and special and we should treat them as such or are they common and should be ignored like the rest of us white, heterosexual males? And the frick is up with those EYEBROWS!?!? They have wax at Walmart for that bushy nightmare.

The most interesting man became less so and they should have allowed it to go to pasture--TO DO SOME STUDDING!!

WHERE ARE THE BABES! TRUMP PROMISED THERE WOULD BE BABES!

  19. Critch, My kids raided the leftovers... and that's when I beat them to death, officer. ;)

  20. Daniel, The funny thing is that Kapernick then whined that everyone took him out of context. Apparently, just because he praised Castro's commitment to education and some other things didn't mean he agreed with everything Castro stood for.

Now tell me, do you think he would accept someone praising something good the KKK has advocated on those same terms or would he call it a racist outrage to praise the for anything?

  21. Koshcat,

They have wax at Walmart for that bushy nightmare. LOLOLOLOL! Agreed.

I think there is a tremendous contradiction in the whole obsessed-with-sex crowd. They want everyone to accept them and treat them like they are normal but not be allowed to do any of the bad stuff that happens to normal people and make sure to treat them like they are special. What's more, they think they get a free pass in attacking the people from whom they demand acceptance.

You could be right about the Amazon commercial, but again, that seems to fly in the face of the message Amazon probably is trying to send.

"To do some studding." LOL! Nice! :)

  22. Anthony, I went to a couple places, but they weren't busy.

  23. I suspect Castro had a fair amount of support in his own country. Populists who play to a sense of grievance often enjoy public support despite bad ideas, corruption and incompetence. Their followers appreciate the broad banner the guy works under and don't worry much about execution(s). One interesting American example of that phenomena was DC's Marion Barry.

  24. Good choices, Anthony. Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is in my backlog, too, with Final Fantasy XV arriving soon. As for the Persona/MegaTen games I actually did play the original wacky Americanized translation of Persona 1, got back into it with Eternal Punishment, then forgot about it again until 3 FES, which led me to P4, the Raidou Kuzunoha Devil Summoner games, and finally Nocturne, which I haven't played much of. Nocturne's definitely not easy, as you know! With P5 pushed back until April Nioh and Horizon: Zero Dawn are the only February releases I'm interested in and I'm not sold on either. I've never gotten the appeal of Dark Souls type games, even though Nioh has more of an Onimusha flavor to it, and I just can't shake the feeling that Horizon is going to be a letdown somehow.

Andrew, you know we'd never hear the end of it if someone did that! The sooner we're rid of this clown the better.
