Electoral College Open Thread

So it's official. The Electoral College delegates met in their respective states on Monday and President-elect Donald Trump and Vice-President-elect Mike Pence have official been elected by the States with an official tally of 305 to 232. Interestingly, Hillary Clinton lost delegate votes in Washington winning only 8 out 12 where Colin Powell got 3 and 1 vote went to Faith Spotted Owl took 1 along with votes going to Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Sen. Elizeth Warren (D-Mass) for Pence. Texas cast the deciding votes that put Trump over the required 270 even though one of their delegates buck the system and cast his vote for Kasich.

Next this all goes to House chamber on January 6 to hear the results from the states in alphabetical order during a session set to be led by Vice President Biden. It will allow lawmakers to challenge the results or the votes of individual electors.

In other news: The Russian Ambassador to Turkey was assasinated in Ankara, an "alleged" terrorist attack by truck at a Berlin Christmas market killed 12 and injured at least 50, and 3 killed in a Zurich mosque during prayers (no info on who/why). And current President Obama played golf...

The floor is open...

  2. Bev, I started writing a comment that turned into an article. Since Andrew is away, shall the mice play? Can I send it to you somehow to post as an official entry? You've got my DM on Twitter. Thanks!

  3. Tryanmax - see my DM on Twitter...;-) Of course the Management will have to vet it, check your credentials, and then send it over to Legal, but something can be worked out...that's if "the Russians" don't intercept and post it first. ;-)

  4. Shame about the Russian ambassador. That cop could have tried to hit anyone in the country with a reasonable expectation of success.
