Snicker snicker

"The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers." - Princess Leah.

One of the things that always gives me hope about the human race is that all current "powers-that-be" try to control the public, yet there are always people ready to mock their ideology and expose their failures, and the "powers-that-be" are helpless before them. This is why I have to laugh really hard about the following crude picture.
The statue you see is called the "Fearless Girl"... a symbol of supposed feminine empowerment. She's fearless in the sense that loser woman self-identify as "strong women." Basically, she's an expression of a false reality with the hope that if we all just say that something is true then it will be true. But as the picture has exposed, this is a pipe dream. Let me offer some thoughts:

1. First, the idea of this statue is that women are empowered as seen by the girl not being afraid of the charging Wall Street bull statue. You go girl! But hold on. The bull represents bull markets... i.e. good economic times. Indeed, a bull market is a good thing. It represents economic expansion, jobs for all, money to go around for everyone. The goal of every ideology from communism to capitalism is as many bull markets as they can get. So why would anyone be afraid of that? Did feminists not realize that? This "Fearless Girl" statue is as stupid as putting up a statue declaring that you won't be intimidated by charity or hope. Morons.

2. Ok. So the very idea behind the statue exposes the utter lack of knowledge of the chickies claiming empowerment. Next question: why a girl? Aren't we told that women should be viewed as the equivalent of men, and that even calling them "girls" infantilizes them and is derogatory? Yet, here we have a little girl representing the women of Wall Street, and she's even called "Fearless Girl." Did no one think of the signal this sent?

3. Third, so now we have the women of Wall Street infantalized to little girls who aren't terrified of good times (you go girl!) and along comes some nameless, probably drunk guy who mocks their statue... and the world of empowered women has a meltdown and thereby proves that they are not fearless or capable of handling the rough and tumble real world. Pathetic. He mocked their monument to their claimed strength, and millions of women broke down into impotence exposing the lie of their empowerment. Even the chickie who took the photo and rushed out to whine about it comes across as pathetic beyond pathetic:
"There were people there talking about empowering children and women and for then to have this 20-something showing his entitlement, defiling the statute... it was utterly revolting."
OMG, did he wave his "entitlement" in your face? How long was it?

Seriously, when you don't know the difference between good and bad things, when you claim to be empowered and then pick everything you claim is an insult as your symbol, and when you have an emotional breakdown at the first person to mock your cause, you shouldn't really consider yourself "empowered." That's more like "sheltered," snowflake.

So kudos to The Revolter for making a mockery of this crap with his mighty entitlement.

Thoughts?

  1. I was a commodity broker for Shearson-Loeb-Rhodes for 10 years. the ONLY thing they cared about was how much business you did...that was it...they didn't care if you were a guy, a girl, black, white, ugly, good looking,,,they didn't care..they wanted to see what you made in commission's...I worked with many women who made very good money and held very important jobs...but these neo-socialists don't understand that..BTW...that statue is so stupid....

  2. I agree the messaging of the little girl statue is bizarre but I don't see how what a drunk does to it means anything.

For drunks (and jerks) the world is their toilet. Put life sized statues of the Virgin Mary kneeling before the cradle of the baby Jesus anywhere near a high traffic area not populated exclusively by believers (read: a church) and by the end of the night, the cradle will be filled with trash and at least one dude will have posted a selfie of himself 'getting a blowjob from Mary'.

Its why statues/icons of things people revere (I'm not sure the little girl statue is among them, I never heard of it until reading Andrew's write-up) tend to be built either much larger than life sized or on raised platforms.

  3. That is some weird symbolism, though I suppose it makes sense when you consider the economic literacy of someone who would make that kind of statue. They probably think the bull is symbolic of Wall Street greed, exploitation, patriarchy, and all the other leftist boogeymen. It doesn't look like the message took, though if I was the guy in the picture I'd make sure my personal information is secure... I can't imagine that the scorched earth left is going to let him get away with that if they get an opening.

  4. Let me start by saying... day light savings sucks. F-you Congress or Ben Franklin or whoever.

  5. Critch, Clearly you worked in the other Wall Street, the one where they don't seek to oppress women and blacks and poor people as their goal. Liberals say it's there, so it must be. After all, they don't lie... right?

  6. Anthony, What he did doesn't matter actually. He's irrelevant... just some drunk. What matters is how some nobody has a joke with a statue and all these "strong" women break down into tears and shrieks of "crimes against women" on every snowflake web-ezine. What does that tell us about their claim to be strong, unfraid and ready for the world if a single drunk can bring their world crashing down?

People do stupid crap with statues, religious symbols, flags, etc. all the time, usually with the specific intent of hurting the people who support the item, and only a handful of people ever flip their lids (and they are usually people trying to win an audience, i.e. talk radio, a local minister, etc.). Other people might be offended, but it doesn't cause any sort of panic or paranoia or crisis of faith.

In terms of the statue, it was only erected (snicker) a week or so back.

  7. Daniel, That's exactly how they see it. In fact, if you wade into the bullsh*t the sisters are spewing at each other over this, you will see the general formula: capitalism = oppression of women and minorities. The bull means capitalism. Ergo, the bull is a simple of oppression.

Of course, that is historically wrong, economic garbage, and doesn't even understand what the bull actually symbolizes, but then "strong" does not mean "bright" "knowledgeable" or "competent."

  8. Haha! Somehow, I relate this to a satire piece posted to Townhall today: LINK

Best line: “Your Penis Is A Hate Crime.”

  9. So more to this story...this was an ad campaign by the well-meaning male CEO of State Street Global Investors & advertising firm McCann to send the message that "girls can do anything!" and "draw attention to gender diversity" (and hopefully increase sales) It was unveiled on International Womyn's Day March 8. Oh, the feminists may LOVE it now, but the first reaction was "really, you used a little girl? Whaddya think, we are all little girls who [spew, spew, spew]you stupid, you misogynist sexist patriarchal pig, you!!!" or something like that. They wanted it removed immediately. It was an insult!

Flashforward 6 days: HOW DARE SOME MISOGYNIST WALL STREET PIG DO THIS TO OUR PRECIOUS STATUE!!! PEDOPHILE PERV!!!!

That kind of whiplash has gotta hurt...

  11. Bev, Isn't it amazing how they can little take opposing positions at the same time and it doesn't seem to bother them in the least? Amazing.

  12. This whole thing, the statue, the drunk, the reaction, all of it is just hilarious. And daylight savings time just sucks. You can't f--k with what time it is. Time is an absolute, dammit! My favorite day of the year is Christmas. Why don't we just declare every day Christmas? My favorite month is October. Why wait? Let's just declare it October. Is anybody's favorite day of the week Saturday? Let's just make it Saturday! Time is an absolute dammit! And Pluto's a planet. I just wanted to get that out. Thanks.

  13. GypsyTyger, It is hilarious. The whole thing is ridiculous.

Agreed on Daylight Savings. This stinks.

  14. Right on all counts, Andrew. It's unfortunate that so many people believe that in spite of the historical and economic evidence, though. Somehow I'm not surprised the whole thing evolved the way it did, either, Bev, and that was definitely the best line of the article, tryanmax! Sad part is I can easily see the college radicals using it unironically.

  15. I have been working on a House bill that would declare all Mondays and Fridays no-work holidays. Everyone hates Monday, so why not just declare it a "trigger" day and get rid of it. And everyone LOVES Friday, so why not make everyone happy and get rid of that too! I may need some help, if anyone is interested.

    ReplyDelete
  16. And I am all for getting rid of Daylight Savings Time unless we can have it official begin on Friday at around 3pm and end on a Monday at...say...7am.

Seriously we all hate DST, however the net plus is that we in the NE get to actually go home in the daylight.

    ReplyDelete
  17. DST is useless...it was instituted for farmers to give them more daylight...my neighbor's robot tractor works way into the night,,,without headlights...(it uses GPS). It also doesn't call in sick, hungover, or take breaks except to refueling...

    ReplyDelete
  18. Critch - I agree with you. DST is no longer necessary in our world today. And it's really annoying.

Though I am warming to GypsyTyger's idea of Christmas every day and absolutely believe that PLUTO IS A PLANET!!!!

  19. All you folks in the northeast be careful....

  20. Thanks Bev! And I'll sign your Monday - Friday petition. Critch, I was unaware of the origins of DLST, That's ironic because my dad was a full time farmer, by full time I mean it was his sole occupation, and he hated it. He said that farmers have to work until dark anyway and this extended his workday and gave city people another hour to play golf.
