For The Deranged

As you may have heard, Trump dropped some bombs on Syria for using poison gas on its citizens. This brought howls of anger from the anti-Trumps. Why? Here are some of their most entertaining reasons.

We begin with hypocritical and entirely illogical reasons. This is leftist gotcha at its worst. If you don't act, you don't care. If you do act, you make the situation worse. And if they get called on their hypocrisy, they switch to attacking your motives:
● Trump dropped bombs and people died! That makes him a murderer! Funny, Obama wasn't. And, uh, if you can't drop bombs on soldiers who use poison gas on children, then who can you kill?

● Trump has no plan! Obama didn't either. You praised him for that.

● Trump did this without a Congressional declaration! Something that never mattered when Obama did it in several countries.

● Trump might start a war with Russia! Strange, last week he was Russian's puppet. Now the left wants to give Putin a veto over our policies. Who's the puppet here?

● Do you know how much those cruise missiles cost? Doesn't the left usually argue that saving a single life is worth some priceless expense? Why do we care now about the cost of some missiles?

● This lets North Korea argue that it's legitimate for them to own nuclear weapons. Uh, how?

● We're doing the dirty work of al Qaeda by bombing ISIS! Really? Using that logic, we can't fight either until we are ready to destroy them both completely and simultaneously. That's nonsense.

● Trump is listening to the Generals and they want war! It's Vietnam all over again! Huh. Last week, Trump was an idiot who needed to let his experts make policy because he couldn't be trusted.
They're also obsessed with this affecting his popularity:
● Trump is only doing this to make himself popular. Waaaah.

● This doesn't change who he is! Don't let a few missiles make you support him!

● Cable Networks are benefiting from missile footage so Trump is to blame! What? Don't you get it? Do I need to connect the dots? Isn't it obvious how that works? Come on people!
Then there's John McCain, who is in traitor zone all to himself these days. He says Trump is to blame for the chemical attack because his missile attack is only a one-time thing, which therefor encouraged the attack... somehow... after the fact.

Then you have the Alt-Right who are upset that Trump killed some A-rabs who was working with the Ruskies to kill other A-rabs. He dun killed the wrong A-rabs. You gots to kill the right A-rabs if you wanna be part of our Klan.

These groups really are a wretched hive of scum, villainy and extreme idiocy. Too bad they're the most vocal.

  1. Oh, and my favorite... Trump may have done the right thing, but "he doesn't understand why he did it or what is happening in Syria." LOL!

  2. BTW, Having spent the weekend at multiple kids soccer matches, I am officially calling for a moratorium on certain names:

    Kayla
    Kylie
    Logan
    Connor

If you are one of the 33% of young people with one of these "creative" names, please choose another... and slap your parents.

  3. As I stated last week, I support Trump's retaliatory airstrike on Syria. I think its a move which will give the numerous bad actors who are becoming more liberal about using chemical weapons pause (which isn't to say it guarantees that never again in history will chemical weapons be used).

That being said, the outrage generated by his reasonable action is entirely predictable. The Syria airstrike and administration talk about forming a broad coalition to bring down Assad in the fullness of time, are exactly the sorts of things Trump and a bunch of the current Republican leadership ridiculed Obama for back in 2013.

I came across a recent opinion piece which sums up the view of many of the people drawn to Trump by his populist promises.

No, we cannot get hip-deep in another Middle Eastern quicksand pit. Yes, we can zap the bugs when they get uppity, but no more Trump-voters’ kids from Tennessee are going to get waxed in some endgame-free sand trap while the spawn of the people who sent them there march around protesting pronoun misgendering hate crimes at Rich Kid U.

It should also be kept in mind that Obama explicitly asked Congress for permission to launch a retaliatory airstrike on Syria after Assad used chemical weapons in 2013, and a Republican Congress (supported by Trump via tweets) turned him down, stating it was not in the national interest.

    @realDonaldTrump
The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!

    @realDonaldTrump
Why do we keep broadcasting when we are going to attack Syria. Why can't we just be quiet and, if we attack at all, catch them by surprise?

AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA - IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!

*Shrugs* The way things are playing out domestically in unfortunate, but Trump knows how the game is played.

  4. My personal favorite from Lawrence McDonnell at MSNBC: He is convinced or trying hard to muddy the waters and is floating the idea that Putin staged the whole thing to help Trump distract from the whole Russian connection investigation...

“Wouldn't it be nice if it was just completely, totally, absolutely impossible to suspect that Vladimir Putin orchestrated what happened in Syria this week — so that his friend in the White House could have a big night with missiles and all the praises he's picked up over the past 24 hours?”

Of course it is MSNBC who still thinks that Clinton will become Pres WHEN (not if) Trump is impeached....

  5. Andrew, you missed a few that are my favorites.

    ● Tomahawk missiles are offensive to Native Americans! I guess this is an "if all else fails" argument.

    ● Courtesy MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell, Putin ordered the chemical weapons to distract from investigations into Trump's campaign ties to Russia. The left goes into Alex Jones territory!

    ● Trump is doing exactly what Hillary said she would do and he criticized her for it! Except this is wa-a-ay different from what Hillary said she'd do, which was to set up a no-fly zone over Aleppo at the expense of Syrian lives; requiring a massive ground effort by, presumably, American troops; and giving provocation to the Russians. As if to affirm that, Hillary told the NYTimes that Trump should've done more.

    ● This will start World War 3: Rise of the Mujaheddin! So suddenly BFFs Putin and Trump are gonna start slinging nukes at each other? Or maybe--just maybe--the leaders of two of the most powerful nations on the globe are not junior high girls. Maybe there's a middle ground between limp wristed Kerry-esque diplomacy and all out war?

As far as Trump's 2013 tweets go, rather than digging in on 3+ year old bluster, the alleged egomaniac pursues a course of action based on what he knows now rather than what he said then, and without doublespeak, apologies, or scapegoats. If that's not something other than politics as usual, I don't know what is.

  6. Tryanmax - The real clue is that Trump did this at Primetime. Not in the middle of the night. The NEWBREAK came at Primetime during a state dinner with PM Xi of China. Oh, there are those who are upset that he clued in China's PM (who was at the table with him) and not the MSM that he was ordering the bombing.

Also, Trump went on TV immediately (within minutes after the announcement) to explain why. He didn't wait for cover.

  7. Also, Anthony, if we are going to go by what politicians and diplomats say years before, then Kerry & Obama have a lot of explaining to do since they guaranteed that 100% of Syria's chem weapons had been removed. Susan Rice concured as late as December 2016. But I can almost hear the excuses from them...well, we DID remove 100% of what they had at the time. Trump's friend Putin gave them more...

  8. Bev, I was just looking for the thumbs-up button on your comment. Twitter has ruined me.

  9. It's funny, but Obama and Hillary fired 189 cruise missiles at Yemen and Libya...with no apparent good coming out of it...The Left would bitch if you were gonna hang them with a new rope.

  10. Bev, I hadn't heard the Lawrence McDonnell bit. That's a laugh! MSNBC is nuts. They were attacking NBC for switching from Rachel Madcow to Brian Wilson for the coverage of the strikes. Apparently, it was sexist to switch to your star from your D team. The left has become dysfunctional.

  11. tryanmax, I saw that about the missile names being offensive. Wow. Talk about out of touch!

I think it's funny too that the left is genuinely offended when Trump makes good decisions rather than acting the way their smears said he would. They apparently can no longer tell the difference between their own lies and reality. Oh boy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bev, That's one of those issues the media won't delve into because they don't want to smear their own side. A genuine media would be pounding away on that question and asking what else we "know" is false.

  13. Critch, All the leftist peaceniks stopped whining during the Obama years -- Gitmo, landmines, drones, etc. All of that became good. Only now are they returning to their "principles." Losers.

  14. Just in case you haven't been paying attention, it has been reported that China has moved 150,000 troops to the North Korea border. Hmmm, wonder if that meeting/state dinner that Trump had with PM Xi of China this weekend
had anything to do with that? Maybe China can bring Kim Jung Un's nuclear ambitions to heel?

  15. I figure most of the goons following Kim Jong Dumbass around are in Chinese pay; if he goes too far they bust a cap on him. China will not go to war over North Korea, they aren't stupid or impractical. Besides, they would lose...their navy is a one trick pony, their air force is quite antiquated and their army can't move, except by land...
