Happy Monday!
● Update on the NFL. Wow, things have changed. Trump is still fanning the flames and the small cadre of race-baiting players are continuing their thing, but the NFL has found a solution. Rather than letting the protests happen randomly and control the agenda, team after team is now kneeling as a group before the anthem and then standing for the anthem. This has done several things. First, it has muddied the water as to what the protests mean because they describe this as being a message of "unity," whatever that means. In fact, the original protestors are all very pissed off that their message has been hijacked -- the original message, by the way, is one of racial division and spoils. Even the leftist media who were fanning the flames of this are stupidly repeating that this is a message of unity or an anti-Trump message. At this point, the original point is long lost. What's more, teams are now saying, "We had your protest, now let's focus on football." So look for the issue to shrink back down to only a handful of players no one is listening to.
Equally interestingly, despite this now being about unity, the fans are booing the players when they kneel. This is the fans expressing their dislike of the protests and the protestors.
Finally, the funniest aspect of this arose when the left starting asking themselves, "what do we do next?" Ha ha. It turns out that "raising awareness" isn't all that valuable after all.
● The left is desperate to equate Puerto Rico with Katrina. The problem is, there are no similarities except that the incompetent local officials are again Democrats. They're trying everything though: Trump is golfing instead of whatever he's supposed to be doing, Trump was unprepared, Trump didn't send the exact combination of ships I would have sent, Trump is leaving food and water on the docks un-distributed, and Trump said something nasty to a local mayor! Wahh. None of this is true. In fact, most unbiased experts are saying their preparations have been excellent and the problem is that the island has essentially be destroyed and doing anything is hard. As for the food on the docks, FEMA has pointed out that the commercial containers the rumormongers are pointing to do not belong to FEMA and that FEMA's stuff has been distributed. Still, that hasn't stopped the left from repeating it.
● So this leftist librarian at some elementary school tried to get famous by rejecting a gift of books from Melania Trump. She sneered at the Dr. Seuss books Melina sent as cliched and racist. Good grief. What's funny about this is that Michelle Obama used to go around reading Dr. Seuss books to kids. Hmm. I guess she's cool with racism.
● More Islamic terrorism. Islam: Killing the West 3-5 people a week.
● I've been reading the articles about Hugh Hefner by various people who knew him. It's funny. If you don't know any better, Hefner made his world sound like magic: a cool mansion designed for parties, a life awash in celebrities, surrounded by hot (if cheap) women. Hedonism in the lap of luxury.
Well, reading these articles has presented a very different picture. It's a picture of a dirty, beat up claustrophobic mansion, partiers being paid to attend parties, women who were there for the money and had to be forced to have sex, drugs, blackmail, and a world of no friends or decent people whatsoever. Hefner sounds like a control freak monster who needed to buy the sex he got and confused sex with love. He surrounded himself with courtiers to make himself feel important and loved. What a loser.
I don't think of Hefner as Satan. To me, he's a pathetic footnote to the cultural rot of the 1960's, but the things I'm reading remind me of the classic descriptions of hell very much. Indeed, as was said in The Lord of the Rings, Satan would appear fairer, but seem fouler. That's what this sounds like -- a shining mansion of pleasure on the hill led by a seemingly charismatic leader, which in reality is a corrupt, sclerotic nest filled with vipers. I'll take my family any day.
● Finally, I find the Megyn Kelly thing interesting. First, it was obvious to me that she had little talent at Fox. All she really offered was being abusive to guests to make her audience happy. Apparently, the NBC execs didn't get this. Secondly, the constant smears and attacks from the left remind us that (1) the left likes to destroy people it does not like no matter what they are doing, i.e. political or not, and (2) they will never forgive.

Trump has said repeatedly that he aims to unite the country. That necessarily excludes the dividers.
ReplyDeleteOur country is awash in dividers. In fact, dividing has become the latest fetish.
ReplyDelete1) The current incarnation of the protests is purely anti-Trump. If they were motivated by police shootings of black men they would have been protesting back when the now unemployed Colin K was. The current guys did it to defy Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe motive doesn't matter to fans. As with Tebow and Colin K fans just want football, not messages.
2) Nothing is Katrina, not even Katrina was Katrina. Puerto Rico is just an example of Trump's tendency to pick fights and denounce opponents in ways that thrill the blood and soil crowd.
3) The librarian is an idiot but we all know many things become unacceptable only when the other side is in power.
4) Islamic terrorism is terrible and it's practitioners all deserve body bags but drunk drivers and several other things are killing the West at a faster pace.
5) I agree.
6) Interesting. I confess I've never watched her show(s).
No details on the shooter yet, but the Las Vegas shooting certainly looks like an Islamic terror attack. My prayers are with the victims and their families.
ReplyDeleteThe Vegas thing is shocking. All they've said so far is a 64 year old man shooting from the 32 floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel down into the crowd. What a sick f** coward.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers for the people who were hurt or killed.
Anthony,
ReplyDelete1. Absolutely. This is just about Trump. When he shuts up, it dies.
2. Agreed on Katrina. Katrina is a leftist myth and now the Democrats like to use it as a weapon to smear their opponents. Puerto Rico is nothing like Katrina.
3. What's even funnier to me about this is that it shows how the left is eating their own. The left used to love Dr. Seuss because of his messages about inclusion and community. But leftists love to find fault and now it's his turn. It's like the left can't stop conducting doing purges.
4. Exactly. For all the hoopla, they don't even rate in the cause of death charts.
6. She's very stiff and utterly without empathy or compassion, which is exactly what you need to fake for daytime TV. She's also put her foot in her mouth in a couple instances already.
It looks like the guy is just a sicko. There doesn't seem to be any ideological basis for this.
ReplyDeleteJust for the record, what mass shooter/stabber/"weapon of choice" isn't a sicko?
ReplyDeleteBev, I think you have to categorize these people to understand them. The media likes to lump them together because that makes it much harder to identify the things that motivate them, which makes it much harder to point a finger at the media for making these people famous.
ReplyDeleteSome are in it for the fame. Some are in it for revenge. Some are in it for ideological reason. Neither the second nor third groups care about fame, they care about hurting people they think have hurt them.
In the second group, I think you get people who simple snap. I don't think they revel in the idea of killing innocent people at all. They just snap and they want the people who have made them feel bad -- ex-wives, bosses, other students. A lashing out is very normal for humans, even if theirs is rather extreme. It's not really crazy, it's just morally wrong.
The third group you get people who genuinely think they can change the world. They aren't necessarily crazy so much as blinded by anger and wrong. This is ISIS and political killers. They feel they are fighting back against an oppression they are otherwise powerless to stop. They aren't nutjobs, so much as trapped animals.
It's the first group that are the real sickos. They want to hurt innocent people because it excites them.
The first group could be minimized if the media didn't make heroes of these people. And that's something the media hopes to evade by lumping in the other two groups and then throwing their hands up in the air and saying, "Gee, how could we possible stop these people? They don't have common motives? And fame certainly isn't what motivates most of them!"
CBS was forced to fire one of their idiot executives after she shot off her hateful leftist views. CBS legal executive Hayley Geftman-Gold said:
ReplyDelete"If they wouldn't do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I'm actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters."
What a turd!
Glad to hear CBS actually fired Geftman-Gold. It just goes to show how delusional the left has become in their belief that they know all and hold the moral high ground in all things. I cannot understand a mind that thought that was an okay thing to express...and I'm glad I can't.
ReplyDeleteStacy, Same here. I can't understand how people can genuinely think like that. But then, this is nothing new for the left. They seem to genuinely hate people they disagree with, to the point of wishing them death. We see this all the time.
