And Away We Go...

This truly remains a week for idiocy. Oh where to begin...

● Gretchen Carlson who once won the Miss America pageant (must have been an off year... a very off year) has taken over the Miss America organization and is apparently determined to destroy the thing. She's announced that the contestants will no longer be judged on their outward beauty. Yep. From now on, they will be judged on their passion, their desire to do charity, and their inner beauty. Ha ha ha! Are you serious? Do you really think anybody wants to hear these airheads views on anything? Good luck with that. Naturally, this is being cheered on by feminists who never watched it in the first place. I'm betting this is its final year.

● The makers of James Bond have decided to cast Helena Bonham Carter as the next villain. Was Pee Wee Herman not available? Talk about a walking one-note cliche.

● The latest leftist BS is to attack the well-wishes and condolences of conservatives. For example, today Kathy Griffin attacked Ivanka Trump for not really caring about the death of Kate Spade. That's funny coming from someone who uses tragedies to score political points... like most liberals.

● Speaking of the death of Kate Spade. She killed herself today. Sad. Why I mention this though is how the leftist vultures are circling. First, you have the sh*ts who know that she killed herself because money doesn't bring happiness. Money had nothing to do with it. Then you have the sh*ts who know she killed herself because she was only worth $300 million and if she had waited to sell her company, she would have been worth $2.4 billion. Hardly. Then you have the sh*ts who are judging the twitter condolences and attacking those who don't say enough in their moronic opinions. Today's biggest victim was Kenneth Cole who was presented as saying "She alone didn't change the handbag world," which sounds like a slap right? Except, what he said was: "'I believed that I could, so I did.' She alone didn't change the handbag world but she was an inspiring accessory. #KateSpade #RIP." That's actually a very pretty tribute, unless you feel that a tribute needs to be laughably over-the-top, i.e. insincere, to be acceptable. Whose f***ing business is it anyways to judge other people's condolences? Ironically, each of these idiots who judged her also told us that we can't judge people with depression. Typical liberals... so judgmental.

● I'm laughing about the articles about California's primary. For those who haven't paid attention, there are several races in heavily Democratic districts where two Republicans may end up running for the office without a Democrat in the race. This is because California now has a system where the top two vote getters advance and the Democrats have so many candidates they may split up the vote too small to advance. As if that wasn't funny enough, reading the articles, the various authors seem baffled how this could have happened and none of them seem to realize that it was the Democrats who put this system into place in the hopes of wiping out the GOP in the primary phases. Now it's blowing up on them and their zombies seem shocked as to who set up this sytem and why. Ha ha.

  1. 1. Miss America's ratings have been dropping sharply in recent years and like all broadcast events have been trending downward for decades.

Best just to cancel the whole thing rather than to make it no longer about beauty.

    2. I confess I have no idea who the person you named is but for my money Bond hasn't faced an interesting villain since Casino Royale and the last two Bond movies were just trash. Bond has stopped becoming something I watch in theaters and become something I watch on cable.

    3) Political types attacking each other is pretty much the way of things.

    4) Once again, no idea who Kate Spade is but the suicide of ordinary people (vs terrorists, child molesters or what have you) is a tragic thing.

    5) That is funny. I just read Villagrossa didn't make the cut.

  2. The amusing thing about Carlson’s announcement is that she almost certainly has it in mind that placing the focus on inner beauty will revitalize the Miss America Pageant when this exactly the sort of thing that will turn off more of whatever viewers they have left while reminding non-viewers of all stripes why they didn’t watch to begin with.

For a hot second, I thought you were going to say that Helena Bonham Carter was going to BE the next Bond. (Really, would you put anything past Hollywood these days?)

Lefties think it’s cool to mock condolences for some time now. They don’t need your [expletive] thoughts and prayers. They need action! Legislative action, that is. Who says the left isn’t religious?

It looks as though things went well for the Democrats in California, none of the hoped-for Democrat shut-outs occurred. Newsom has a GOP challenger, but if he picks up the Villaraigosa and Chiang votes, which he probably will, he’s a shoo-in.

  3. As an aside, I've been trying to think about what to say about the gay-cake case, but I honestly can't find any meaning in the decision.

It's so narrow that it's truly meaningless.

  4. Anthony,

It would be best to cancel it, but that's now how these people think.

Carter has played the same character for years. She was Tim Burton's wife until they divorced. I can't think of the last thing I enjoyed her in.

I'm going to hit the election tonight.

  5. tryanmax,

I totally agree. I bet that Carlson really thinks this will elevate the pageant and give it new life and everyone will flock to it. But like everyone else who inherits something they don't fundamentally understand, she's in for a rude awaking. Of course, she'll be sure it wasn't her fault, but the end is nigh.

If they think they can do a female Dr Who, then I'm sure a female James Bond is coming. I'll skip both.

That's true about the condolences. What's interesting to me about it is that (1) it's bullying, (2) it flies in the face of their normal thinking that it's the thought/motives that count rather than actions and (3) it's ultra-judgmental. It makes their stereotypes of religious people seem like indifferent beatniks by comparison.

I'll talk about the election tonight. Things didn't actually go well for them. (That's called a teaser.)

  6. I'm not surprised about the Miss America pageant. I hate political correctness in all it's forms but I've thought for years that it was on it's last legs. I don't care about it one way or the other and I've never watched it but it seems like a relic from a bygone time. Having women walk around in two piece suits... And what the ____ is the point of the evening gown portion? You just had a bathing suit competition. The whole thing is basically a glorified meat show, or so it seems to me. I think this was inevitable.

  7. GypsyTyger, I actually feel the same way and I don't watch it. I just think it's funny that Carlson thinks this meat show can be converted into a contest of "passion" and "inner beauty." That's a bit like saying we're going to convert a demolition derby into a classic car show by looking past the rough state of the cars and listening to the drivers describe what they would have done to fix them up.

  8. Andrew; That's a good analogy.

  9. We'll definitely never run out of stupid all right...

    1. And I'm sure this display of "passion, inner beauty, and charity" totally won't involve leftist virtue signaling with the fate of dissenters being seen across the way in Miss USA... I'd heard about them eliminating the swimsuit portion but this puts it into context. Definitely stupid.

    2. I'm not much of a moviegoer and haven't seen much of her work but even I immediately thought of how similar her character in Sweeney Todd and her portrayal of Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter looked. Which I should add isn't at all how I imagined her from the books - she was murderous and insane but I never got the impression she looked as crazy as she was! Either way it's not a good choice.

3 and 4. This kind of behavior borders on sociopathic, if not actually crossing that line. That these people see this as acceptable shows just how f*cked up they are.

    5. Looking forward to the full analysis!
