I Got Nothing Open Thread...

Sorry, people of CommentaramaPolitics. I've got nothing I want to write about today. I know, I know, me without an opinion about something? How can that be? Hey it happens. But to make it up to you, here are some photos of puppies and kittens...

Cute little puppy. This one doesn't have enough doggie DNA to actually BE a dog, right?

A cute kitten. Now I am not that fond of cats, but this one is just too cute.

And a tiny pink piggie...sadly, they do not stay this small and cute.

And what could be more fun that a tiny pig eating an ice cream cone at a tiny picnic table!

Ooooooohhhhhmmmmmm. Now I feel a little better. So anyone have anything to talk about?

Well, after all the caterwauling and wringing of hands, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments, the train went off the track because of engineer error....it wasn't an infrastructure problem, in fact, it's usually operator error. The book Hillary said would be a dud is like #2 on the NYT Bestseller list. And the Giffords are pushing for more gun control in Oregon...personally I think the astronaut husband is flapping her jaws like a puppet. I know that sounds insensitive, but they are the ones that went on the "pity party tour for gun control". Obama doesn't like Fox News, who woulda thunk it? You know what's funny? No one is listening to Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, Chris Matthews or anyone on CNN or MSNBC,,of course you can't hear them, it would take a tractor and chains to pull their heads out of Obama's a$$.

Bev, I've been in the same position for the past month or so, there just isn't much going on to talk about. It seems that Washington is just repeating the same old issues and not even doing so with any conviction.

Hmm... conviction.

That would help... a round of convictions!!

Our Speaker of House here in Missouri was caught sexting with a young intern, now he's all sorry about it,,,he needs to be gone...now. I'm tired of these politicians who think they are entitled to do whatever they want to do.

Bev -

As I wrote in the Pam Geller thread in response to your comment, I'm well aware of The Great Dictator. But at the same time, Chaplin didn't make lampooning Hitler his entire life's work, which personally makes it hard for me to sympathize with Geller. While I might agree with her thesis, I have no use for sanctimonious true believers. :-)

In other news, I just got back from a nice California vacation. Three days in SF, one on the road, then four days in LA. I miss it already! I did the AirBnB thing in SF... no wonder local governments hate it. The guy I stayed with said his landlord doesn't even know he rents out the second bedroom. And as someone who never uses public transit here in Florida, I have to say it was very easy. I just did what Google Maps told me to do!

Jay Nordlinger of National Review visited Macedonia on May Day where he saw, no kidding, an Occupy protest and Soros-funded leftist marching to protest something-something and remember the Haymarket Affair.

Of them, he says this: "Whether in my hometown of Ann Arbor or here in the Macedonian capital, the Left is the Left, noisy, threatening, and palpably undemocratic."

And sadly, the similarities do not end there.

BTW, The Haymarket Affair was an event in Chicago, IL where, according to the pro-union left, a group of unionists with some slightly radical views were framed for lobbing bombs to start a riot, arrested by the Chicago PD in a police state-style crackdown, convicted them in a kangaroo court, and executed them.

Of course, according to reality, it was an event where a group of violence-advocating anarchists started a riot by lobbing bombs and police, were arrested after a thorough investigation, and convicted —partly because they picked attorneys more interested in political activism than in defending their clients— and 7 of the 8 were sentenced to death. Two of those sentences were commuted.

Just as I was digging ABC's black-ish as an heir, however pale, to The Bernie Mac Show, they end up going full retard on last night's 20-ish minute GOP bash-o-thon. Must really suck to be a member of a demographic considered too stupid to be able to think for themselves.

re: Missouri Speaker and the young intern. Note to young intern - Why are you sexting with a 48 year old man? And unless the Speaker is married, then who the hell cares. Yes, politically stupid, but only if the person one was sexting too has a political agenda...I wonder how much she was paid to do that?

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Hey hey hey... let's not be too hasty in condemning anyone who would sext with a man in his 40s! Oh wait, I'm married now. Never mind.

j/k

Ed, Something about that show suggested they would become political to me. So I avoided it.

Kit, Leftists are the same everywhere because being a leftist is a character flaw. It is a way of avoiding personal responsibility for your own failures and making yourself feel superior by deciding that you are the person chosen by your superior abilities/insight to direct/control the lives of the lesser beings around you.

All their flaws flow from that.

Wow, that Patriots think people are stupid. They are arguing that the guy who deflated balls for Brady called himself "the Deflator" in texts about footballs being too heavy because he was trying to lose weight.

Yeah, and mafia Capos call themselves Capo because they enjoy reading Andy Capp.

Only an idiot could believe that... or a Patriot's fan.

Critch said...

Someone posted a meme of Brady sitting down and crying and saying the balls were too heavy...

I'm 12 episodes into Daredevil. Mostly enjoyable show but episode 11 didn't thrill me, It seemed like the writers saved one character from invincible idiocy by turning everyone around them stupid.

The Dre character has made the occasional Obama love nods before, which had been tolerable because his militant tough guy poses typically wind up with him looking the fool. They drowned a whole lotta good will last night, though, with every Hollywood cliché about Republicans. Slight ray of light when their "wayward" son spoke of personal responsibility and hard work being GOP cornerstones (weird, always those were American cornerstones), but pissed away when ultimately branding any black who subscribed to that mindset an Uncle Tom. Oh, well. More time for Daredevil and Turn now.

Anthony,

re Daredevil
I'm on episode 8 and it is probably Marvel Studios' best product.

"Unless the Speaker is married, then who the hell cares."

Alas, he is married.

BevfromNYC said...

Kit - Well, then he gets what he deserves. Really, how stupid ARE these guys?? New rule - Let's call it the "Weiner Rule" and here is how it goes:
Never, EVER put anything in writing that you don't want made public...EVER.

Critch said...

He resigned today. The GOP in Jefferson City forced him out. I'm sure he was given a chance to explain things, but in the end, he made them look bad. It is unlikely the Dems would have handled it this way,,,just look at Weiner et al.

New new rule - "Don't do ANYTHING that you don't want made public...unless you are a Clinton and then no rules apply"

Aye! I mean, why can't leftists understand that most people just wanna be left alone to exercise their liberties?
Why can't they comprehend we don't want their "help?"

Imbeciles.

Bernie Mac had class. And he was funny. The cast of Blackish would do well to follow his example.
Especially since they have no class, and they ain't that funny. Essentially, they use the same 3 or 4 jokes, over and over. Boring.

USS Ben USN (Ret) said...

Andrew, lol! Bravo zulu! Now that is funny. :)
