Open Thread Thoughts

Some quick open-thread thoughts...

(1) Bella Hadid just did an interview lamenting the fact that people don't like her. See, she's a very nice person who wasn't handed anything (despite being the daughter of a very rich man) and she doesn't get why people don't like her. That she would get a PR lift/tuck is no surprise after a series of recent missteps, including backing an exclusive concert on a Caribbean island which turned into a disaster and the two greatest sins of our time: (1) getting caught smoking at the MET and (2) repeated vulgar displays of wealth.

(2) On yesterday's topic, I find it interesting that the Ritz Carlton immediately responded to Jones by asking her to contact them so they could fix whatever the problem was, but Jones hasn't said anything about it since. So was her goal really to expose racism at the Ritz Cartons (//snicker snicker) or was it to lay claim to being a victim again? I'll be very curious to see how she handles it.

(3) Speaking of racism, Susan Rice formerly of Team Obama is the one who got caught demasking Trump people to they could be spied on by the Obama Administration. She could be in real trouble for this. This week, she went nuclear, claiming that the reason they have picked her as a target for investigation is racism and sexism. Right. LOL! Nope, they picked you because you broke the law, dumbass.

(3) I actually found myself physically bored by reading Elizabeth Warren yammering on today about Trump "lying to our faces." It's become like listing to a disliked uncle tell the same story you know is a lie for the hundredth time. The Democrats better get a new sales pitch.

(4) It won't be the minimum wage. There is a new study out which even a lot of leftists are bothered by. It showed that as Seattle's minimum wage rose, employment didn't go down, but it shifted. Employers started hiring more experiences people and using them to replace the bottom of the barrel. In other words, not only does minimum wage hurt the poor, it hurts those who need it the absolute most. Welcome to the world of Democratic policies.

Cry Wolf Again

People have a habit of revealing themselves. Bad manners shine through. Inner thoughts become outer thoughts by mistake. Scams that worked once get tried again until they fail. And so on. And that brings me to Leslie Jones. Who is Leslie Jones? Leslie Jones is famous for being the racial component of the remake of Ghostbuster's cast/marking plan.

Jones appeared on radar screens last summer. What brought Jones to people's attention, besides starring in a rental car ad which got my daughter asking me if she was looking at an aggressive gay black man or an obnoxious ugly woman, was her role in fauxGhostbusters last summer. And by role, I don't really mean in the film. In the film, she's the token black jammed into the Ernie Hudson role so she can say tokeny-black things. Yawn. She's otherwise irrelevant on screen. What made her interesting was when she cried racism.

fauxGhostbusters had a problem. It was crap and no one wanted to see it. So the producers decided to use an aggressive identity-politics advertising campaign. Basically, they took a handful of sexist comments from websites and spun these into a victimology campaign. "This film is being targeted by sexists who can't handle the fact that women can be in films now too!! You need to see this film or the sexists win!" Well, not surprisingly, this didn't work. So as opening day approached, the film's flaming director "surprisingly" announced that one of the characters is gay and "This film is being targeted by anti-gayists who can't handle the fact that gays can be in films now too!! You need to see this film or the anti-gayists win!" That still wasn't enough to help the film though. Shocker.

Jones dipped her toe into the water in early July 2016 by crying racism in the fashion industry. Specifically, she said that she hadn't been offered a free dress for the fauxGhostbusters premier, and no one wanted to dress her because she's black and fat. Uh huh, so all those far-left gay people are racists because they didn't give you free stuff. I see. That didn't play too well ultimately.

Well, imagine my surprise when two weeks later, Leslie Jones suddenly quit Twitter "for good" because of barrage of supposed racist comments aimed at her. A tearful Jones told us how "she was being targeted by racists who can't handle the fact that blacks can be in films now too!! They don't want you to see her film so the racists will win." She even picked out her racist, Milo Yiannopoulos, who had said the film wouldn't be very good.

What really made this interesting to me was that the whole thing seemed made up. Her timeline didn't add up and she seemed to have foreknowledge of the racism. The racism all seemed to be coming from one source too. What's more, it was oddly specific and harmless racism. It was all the type of stuff that is easily refuted and never digs deep enough or true enough to leave any marks on her reputation. Frankly, it came across as exactly the kind of "racism" the studio would manufacture to be able to scream racism but without facing anything that could actually hurt them. Said differently, it felt fake.

Then there were her claims of damage which were all out of proportion. This is a woman who made a living doing standup comedy about racism. Her routines often incorporated slavery and insults and lots of sexy. Yet, suddenly she had a thin skin. Even more to the point, she was screaming about how she needed to withdraw from the world because she had been so deeply offended by this rather bland racism and simplistic. She's said worse about herself in her own routines. So she claimed she would quit Twitter forever.

Almost instantly, this whole thing got wrapped up in the studio's campaign to sell the film. A day or so later, she got back on Twitter. Why? To discuss how she wasn't going to let them ruin the film... go see it, don't let them win! This SCREAMS of a PR campaign.

The end, right?

Well, no. A few months after fauxGhostbusters still tanked, Jones worked all of this into her routine. Here she was claiming these bland Twitter attacks were so traumatic she needed to leave the public eye and yet a few months later she had worked the whole thing into her routine. That's a bit like a rape victim telling the experience as a comedic story. That made me even more suspicious that this whole thing was a PR campaign.

Now, we have a new one. The other day Jones hosted the BET awards. Apparently, being victimized for race can elevate you from being booed as Jamie Foxx's opening act to worthy host. From what I've seen, her performance was uneven. Vibe liked one of her routines but called another "a true low." Others seem to have ignored her or similarly given mixed reviews. Well, lo and behold... the next day she tweets this about the Ritz-Carlton in Los Angeles, where she stayed:
“Wow was such a great night at the BET awards. But then had THE WORST STAY @RitzCarlton. DO NOT STAY THERE!! THEY DONT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE!!”
Victimized by the racist Ritz-Carlton? I don't believe that for a minute. The Ritz-Carlton is a premier luxury hotel which would never in a million years act racistly toward a well-known black celebrity. But you know what? This sure helps make her a victim again, doesn't it? And when that happens, people seem to forget prior sins. Adding to my suspicions, by the way, she's given zero details about what happened.

Just thought I'd update this for you because it strikes me that I'm starting to see a pattern emerge of someone inventing claims of victimization whenever it helps her career.

So Is It Possible?

It just seems that more and more we, as a nation, are becoming more and more fractured. Our leaders are just digging in their heels and refusing to work out something that might come close to working to benefit the citizens. But there is hope. I mean, watch this - if something like this can happen between two of the most contentious species, then why not us? These two animals are literally the poster-species for fighting! You know, "they fought like cats and dogs" and yet, somehow, this happens...

So whaddya say? If cats and dogs can work together for the betterment of the backyard, then it must be possible for Repbublicans and Democrats to work together for the bettermen of something, right? Well, a girl can dream, can't she?

Anyway, other than this, I got nothing. The floor is open.

The Democratic Rage Problem

The left has an anger problem. Actually, it's a rage problem. In my whole life, two things have never been considered acceptable by anyone on any side: wishing someone dead and using violence against people who disagree with you. Those are taboo in America. Not on the left apparently... not anymore.

Check this out. This post could be hundreds of pages long, but I decided to shorten it to pick only recent examples and only clear examples of leftists being subhuman:

● A Bernie Bro and campaign volunteer SHOT and tried to kill Republican Steve Scalise and a lot more people. Where oh where could he get the idea that this is acceptable? How about people like this:
● Nebraska Democratic Party Official Phil Montag was fired when recordings of him saying this about the Scalise shooting went public: "This motherf***er – I'm glad he got shot" and "I wish he was f***ing dead."

● Nebraska Democratic Party Black Caucus Chair Chelsey Gentry-Tipton said the shooting was "so funny." She didn't resign. Here is her idiocy-laced statement: "Watching the congressman crying on live tv abt the trauma they experienced. Y is this so funny tho? Yeah, having a hard time feeling bad for them."

● A professor at Trinity College declared on social media that the first responders to the scene should have let the victims die because they are white. Seriously.
● Even after the Scalise shooting, a theater group, The Public Theater, assassinated Trump in their version of Julius Caesar. Then they tried to hide their donor list so people couldn't complain to their sponsors.

● Even after the Scalise shooting (and Kathy Griffin), wife-beater Johnny Depp jokes about assassinating Trump, asking when the last time it was that an actor shot a president and then saying it was time to do it again.

● Unfunny comedian Kathy Griffin cut off Trump's head in a bizarre video. She then blamed Trump for her own actions.

● Comedian Jim Carrey supported Griffin and says he "dreams of killing" Trump.

● HIV-spreader Charlie Sheen wished Trump dead on Twitter.

● Washed-up dopehead Snoop Dog shot Trump in the head in his newest video.

● Washed-up transvestite Marylin Mason kills trump in his latest video.

● Robert De Niro says he wants to "punch Trump in the face."

● Madonna told the Pussy-head rally that she "thought a lot about blowing up the White House." A new use for the word "blow" for that skank.

● Malignant tumor and quasi-cross-dresser Mickey Rourke said of Trump, "I’ll meet him in a hotel room any motherf*cking day of the week and give him a Louisville slugger. Kiss my motherf*cking ass you b*tch punk c***sucker." So articulate!

Orange is the New Black actress Lea Delaria, who did a campaign commercial for Hillary said, of the election that she wanted to "pick up a baseball bat and take out every f*cking republican and independent I see."

● Joss Whedon, whom many conservatives wrongly thought was a conservative, said: "I want a rhino to fuck @SpeakerRyan to death with its horn."

● Late Show contributor Larry Whitmore said, "Sorry everyone, I don’t wont [sic] to give him any more oxygen. That’s not a euphemism by the way; I mean it literally. Somebody get me the pillow they used to kill Scalia, and I’ll do it. I’ll do it!"

● Bedwetter Sarah Silverman tweeted that the military needs to perform a coup.

● Former Obama official Rosa Brooks also called for a coup.

● Hollywood director Paul Schrader (Raging Bull and Taxi Driver), said he sees the election as a "call to violence" and "We should finance those who support violence resistance. We should be willing to take arms... It’s time to actualize that violence." Josh Whedon approved of this.

● But hey, journalists don't want actors having all the rage. NBC and New York Times contributor Malcolm Nance called on ISIS to suicide-bomb Trump-owned properties.

● The Huffington Post needed to pull a piece calling for the "execution" of President Trump. The author also wanted Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and Steve Bannon executed. The guy who wrote this article, by the way, often whines about "bullying" and "extremism."

● Kellyanne Conway has been sent white powder in the mail and is under US Marshal protection

● Betsy Devos is under Marshal protection because of the number of credible threats she gets.

● Rep Tom McClintock attacked at town hall, tires slashed. 71-year-old female staffer of Rep. Dana Rohrabacker knocked unconscious during protest at Rohrabacker's office. Rep Tom Garrett, his family and his dog received repeated credible death threats. Leftist arrested by FBI over threatening to shoot Rep. Martha McSally. Tennessee woman arrested for trying to run Rep. David Kustoff off the road. Man arrested for physical attack on Rep. Kevin Cramer in North Dakota town hall.

● AEI scholar Charles Murray and Professor Allison Stranger attacked after speaking at Middlebury College. Stranger suffered concussion. Fires started to stop Milo Yiannopoulos speech at UC Berkley... and then Ann Coulter.

● Protesters in Philadelphia chanted "Kill Trump - Kill Pence" during May Day demonstrations.

● Anti-Trump protestors attack people all over the country: Pittsburgh attack, San Jose attack, Minneapolis beat an elderly man and attacked Trump motorcade, Tennessee Trump supporter attacked at garage sale, New Jersey Trump supporter attacked with crowbar, El Cajon Trump supporter chased and beat up, North Carolina GOP office firebombed, Connecticut attack. Trump supporters attacked at Cornell, a Maryland High School, a Florida High School, California High School, another Maryland High School, a Texas High School.

● An "Anti-bullying Ambassador" and Black Lives Matter supporter shoves 74 year old man to sidewalk, slamming his head against ground.

● Trump supporter beaten and dragged by car, another knocked unconscious by protestors at airport and repeatedly hit on head, another attacked after putting out fire started by anti-Trump protestors.

● A parade in Portland was cancelled after threats of violence against a Republican organization.

● The guy who killed the two guys in Portland who tried to stop him attacking a Muslim woman was a Bernie Bro.

And what about college professors? They're even worse.
● Do you remember Ugly-As-F*ck "professor" Melissa Click at the U of Missouri calling for "muscle" to inflict violence on a student reporter during their anti-free speech riots?

● "Professor" John Griffin of the Art Institute of Washington.. huh?... said House Republicans "should be lined up and shot."

● "Professor" Eric Clanton at Diablo Valley College was arrested for attacking people with a bike lock during a protest. He injured three Trump supporters.

● "Professor" Lars Maischak at Cal State Fresno tweeted, "To save American democracy, Trump must hang. The sooner and the higher, the better." He also called for money to be collected to erect a monument to honor "the Trump assassin."

● A "professor" at the U of Delaware this weekend mocked the student who ended up in a coma in North Korea, calling him "a privileged clueless white male who got exactly what he deserved." So he deserved to die for visiting North Korea? Talk about a lack of judgment and blaming the victim.
● Do you remember the attacks on Palin, where people wished her kids dead and her raped by "black men"? How about the smears against Trump's kids now? Baron is a particular target for venom from leftist celebrities.

This is just a small portion of the list. There is something seriously wrong with the left. Their leaders are causing it and their mindless drones are picking it up. Honestly, it's time to start arresting all of these people and giving them significant prison time, including the leaders. This is unacceptable in America. On the plus side, these celebrities and colleges are starting to whine about the death threats they get when they say these things... as if they deserved sympathy. Maybe that will teach them that they can't do this. But sadly, that lesson may end up changing America for the worse.

Squashing Dissent On The Left

Here's a fascinating look into the mind of a leftist. This is a quote from leftist sports rumorist Mike Florio aimed at another website which is discussing the blackballing (is that racist?) of Colin Kaepernick.

As I've mentioned before, Colin Kaepernick has become an issue for leftist sport journalists who are horrified that Kaepernick could be punished for spewing hate at the police and America and the American public. It drives them NUTS that they can't force the rest of us to accept their fringe of the fringe 10% view. And by this point, their anger has reached an insane fever pitch as they now obsess over him not being employed and any criticism of him. It's like listening to a pack of paranoids skittering around your basement in the dark as they whisper menacingly of TRUTH.

Anyways, check out this quote. Here's the set up. Leftist sportswriter Peter King runs a website. King is a Kaepernick Truther. His crappy website employs several others, two of whom disagree and accept the position of many in the NFL that Kaepernick is not being blackballed... that he sucks. Kap-Truthers like Florio can't stand this argument and attack it every chance they get. In fact, he wrongly thinks he's disproved it and now takes it as indisputable fact that these are lies. Well, today, he said this of King's website:
While it’s admirable that King allows his people the freedom to write what they want, the issues raised by Kaepernick’s unemployment are too sensitive and too nuanced for a publication to be skittering all over the place regarding whether Kaepernick can or can’t play, regarding whether he does or doesn’t want to play, and regarding whether his unemployment is or isn’t a result of his activism.
Wow. The issues surrounding Kaepernick are "too sensitive" to allow dissent. That is the fringe left mindset in a nutshell. When they see an issue as important, dissent is not allowed. Isn't that fascinating? Freedom of speech is a right for Kaepernick... but not for anyone else who might disagree with the Kap-Truther position. It's been the same attack on the league. The Kap-Truthers say that Kaepernick had the right to do what he did, but he needed to be ready to bear the consequences -- the standard American view of free speech. But once those consequences came in, the Kap-Truthers acted like the league has committed some criminal act imposing consequences, and they have savaged anyone who dared to stray from the party line. Now Florio is arguing for the suppression of the opinions of these journalists to create ideological uniformity... because he considers this a "sensitive" issue. Disgusting.

With attitudes like this, that your freedoms vanish when they think an issue is important enough to demand ideological purity, it doesn't take much to see how the left ends up with death camps and secret police, does it?

Thoughts

A few more thoughts...

● Georgia On My Mind: For those who haven't heard, the Republican won in Georgia today. This is actually quite funny. When the race began, it looked like the Democrat would win the primary because he ran against 12 Republicans who split the GOP vote. There was even a chance that he might win it outright. That would have been a shock, according to the Democrats, because the Republicans always win that district (Trump actually only carried it by 2 points). Anyways, the Democrats saw this as a chance to claim that this election showed that the public had turned against Trump. So they crowed about their win in Georgia and how this meant Trump needed to go! Hollywood types even invaded the district very smugly.

Then he didn't win the election outright. Suddenly, the Democrats said this race had nothing to do with Trump. They also started hating on each other over not supporting the candidate.

Then the real race began and the Democrat pulled ahead. The Democrats came back! They started dumping money into the race, but refused to say it had anything to do with Trump. But the polls kept getting better. By last week, the Democrat was ahead by 7-10%. Suddenly, the Democrats couldn't control themselves and they were back crowing that this was an indictment of Trump and he needed to be impeached! Yeeee haw!

And now the Democrat lost. Ha ha. I'm sure that by tomorrow this will have been just a local race.

At this point, the only race the Democrats can point to that shows anti-Trump sentiment (according to them) is a state legislative race in New Hampshire. Pathetic. This was after claiming a half dozen special elections would vindicate them, only to lose every single one. They are on a truly inspired losing streak!

● Set OJ Free: OJ is coming up for parole next month. Believe it or not, I think he should be set free. Here are my thoughts. I'm all but certain that OJ killed his wife. He should have been convicted and sent to prison forever. But he wasn't. California blew it and OJ got away with it. I don't like it, but I would like it less if we got rid of the rule of law just to get the people we feel the system has wrongly let escape.

When OJ was arrested in Nevada a few years later, I was shocked what they charged him with. If you or I had done what he did, we would have been charged with lesser crimes, and none of us would have served more than six months for what he did. It was clear to me that he had been sentenced for the murder of his wife, not the attempted robbery of a sports memorabilia dealer. Had OJ been stupid? Yes. Had he broken the law? Yep. But he deserved 3 years tops, not 33 years. Personally, I hope he gets out because I see this as a miscarriage of justice. I see it as the system trying to correct an error by making another.

● Yikes: Finally, a question. My daughter asked: What is the last really good movie I remember seeing? Honestly, I can't remember anything good in years. How bad are things in Hollywood that I can't even name the last decent film I saw!

Follow-Up and Other Stuff

I really didn't expect my last post about the dangers of overhyped presidential assassination porn to be so prescient, but shortly after some crazed Bernie Bro decided to try his hand at a real assassination attempt. As we all know, Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise (R) and three Congress police were shot. Even as Rep. Scalise was fighting for his life in the ICU, liberal pundits were crowing about how Scalise probably deserved it seeing how he was such a Republican and all. How have we come to this?

Okay, to be fair, some conservative college kids have been doing their own mischief with disrupting the NY Shakespeare's production of "Julius Caesar: A Chance to Assuage Our Violent Frustrations Legally With A Fake Assassination of Sitting President Trump" {oh wait, that's just "Julius Caesar" I am on the fence about this. I don't necessarily approve, but I am also in the camp of "what's good for the goose, is good for the gander". Well, frankly, I just don't care. Public Theatre chose this production and this concept to be provocative, so they get what they asked for. Okay, I admit it. I am a hypocrite. I am no better than the liberal pundits who are crowing about Scalise. But then disrupting an actor's performance and actually trying to kill someone are world's apart. Hopefully, ne'er the twain shall meet.

Other Stuff: When living in the "Big City", sometimes you just have to scratch your head and keep moving along. Riding on the subway every morning, I have gotten use to having my daily dose of indoctrination of "public service announcements": "Please give your seat to an elderly, disable, or pregnant 'person'" and "If you see something, say something". Now to be honest, I didn't necessarily move to NYC to divorce myself from nature because living in an urban area comes with it's own specific brand of "nature" [See: mice, rats, cockroaches, pigeons, etc.] But seriously, I did not sign up for REAL wildlife. This is just silly...

Okay, I have made peace with the pigeons and the mice, and squirrels that stick to the parks are, frankly, just downright entertaining there. But, honestly, raccoons? I didn't sign up for that! But now, our city officials are forcing me to accept racoons like they demand I accept crime, homelessness, and taxes! If wanted this much nature, I would have stayed in the "burbs"! This will not stand!!!!

The floor is open...

Liberal Thoughts For A Monday Morning

Here is what liberals are thinking this Monday morning.

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

Hmm. Ok, let's try that again. Here is what liberals are feeling this Monday morning:

● Why are vans carrying Islamic gentlemen going out of control and allegedly killing people?

● What? That was a white guy? Why are white males killers?!!

Wonder Woman was a success, why am I still a failure?

● Unemployment is down. The economy is up. Syria is going right. Putin seems contained. North Korea has STFU. Illegal immigration is down. Crime is down. What else could go wrong?!!

● It's a good thing black people have white liberals to teach them how not to be savages. If only conservatives weren't such racists, imagine what we could do with black people!

● OMG! That fat lesbian wanted to attend prom naked with a banana sticking out of her girl parts (is that sexist?) with her four year old lover and that evil white male principal said no?!! What an outrage!!!

● Oh look, someone got cancer and didn't kill themselves. They're a hero.

● I think the guy in the car next to me has too much. If he had less, my life would be better.

● OMG! Megyn Kelly let some weirdo asshole share his views on national television? Burn the witch at the stake!!!

● Everyone thinks like me.

Uh... What?

Let's talk about abortion. Actually, let's talk about stupidity in the context of abortion.

Sanya Richards-Ross, an Olympic gold medalist gave an interview the other day in which she said some amazingly stupid things. First, she said that every female track and field athlete she knows has undergone an abortion: "I literally don't know another female track-and-field athlete who hasn't had an abortion and that's sad." Then she said that "abortion is not an issue that [is] talked about, especially in sports." And she hoping that by mentioning this that she "will open up discussions."

Let's stop there for a moment, shall we? How does one respond to this?

Oh, I know. What is the link between sports and abortion that she seems to think is relevant? Should we believe that running track and field makes you pregnant? Because it really doesn't. Are we to believe that women and athletics don't mix? As much as I'd laugh if that was the logical conclusion of her point, it's not. There is no link between pregnancy and women athletes. What really seems to be going on here is that Ross is hanging out with a bunch of stupid and/or slutty women and she's mistakenly assuming that something other than their behavior is responsible. There simply is no other link. And if there was, then perhaps it's time to re-examine the feminist dogma that demands that women go into sports.

You know, I'd go out on a limb and say that I doubt it's all track and field women either. I'll bet the young women who run at Princeton or Oxford don't fall into this category. Indeed, I'm betting all of Ross's friends are probably from the Caribbean islands... the lands of poverty and ganja. Maybe that's the place to start looking for this mysterious source of "runner's pregnancy."

Wait, wait wait! As I keep reading the article, I may have stumbled upon a clue. Ross continues:
"At that time in your life when you're in college, you don't feel comfortable talking to your mom. So, a lot of information you get is from your peers. So, there's a lot of miseducation that happens to young women in college, because we're educating ourselves."
Ah, the blind leading the blind. So now you pass the buck to "sports" because "track and field made me get an abortion" is a lot more interesting headline than "my stupid ass friends said I couldn't get pregnant if I waved a dead chicken over my lady parts after having freaky sex."

Yep. That must be it... oh wait, there's one more interesting quote here. Here it is:
"It's going to sound silly to some people but, in our community, people don't want to take the pill because you put water weight on."
So you knew how to avoid pregnancy, but you chose not to because it might interfere with your athletics. That's even worse than "we didn't know because we miseducated each other". So the issue ultimately is one of responsibility (big word, I know). Ms. Ross had the knowledge and ability to avoid what she complains about, but she chose not to. She couldn't even be bothered not to have sex. Of course, it went wrong for her and now she's trying to invent a link with sports to shift the blame from herself to some nebulous "we don't talk about it enough in sports."

Sorry, Ms. Ross. No sale.

So This Happened...

As someone who grew up in Dallas after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, I may be a little sensitive about this topic. The disturbing trend of gleeful images of a dead, currently-sitting president cropping up all over the place is very disturbing. Perhaps it has always been around in private, but with the pervasion (and perversion) of social media, it has become much more of a common everyday occurance.

As a starting point, here is something you may not know. A production company was staging a revival production of a Stephen Sondheim musical "Assassins" set to open in the Fall of 2001. "Assassins" is an imagined meeting of all of the killers of presidents lead by John Wilkes Booth trying to convince Lee Harvey Oswald to go through with his deed to achieve immortality. Each assassin is featured telling his or her own story of why they did. Sounds gruesome, but it really is a wonderful and very Sondheim show. Anyhow, it was already in rehearsal with an opening in September 2001. But immediately following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the producers wisely decided to table the production for a later time because they thought it would be in very bad taste.

But something happened along the way from that moment. The first time I saw this begin to creep in was during the 2nd term of the Bush Administration. Anyone remember the hoopla over the 2006 movie "The Death Of A President"? It depicted the events leading up to and following a fictionalized assassination of President George W. Bush. It was shocking, but it sold only about 900K tickets and went by the wayside quickly. There were other images around, but the Bush Administration didn't make much of a deal about it.

Then at the beginning of the Obama Administration we quickly lost our sense of humor and lampooning and/or presenting images of a sitting President as a buffoon or dead was in very poor taste again. But it was okay as long as it wasn't a sitting President apparently. In the 1st season of HBO's "Game Of Thrones"one of the prop guys used the severed head of George W. Bush on a spike for set dressing. HBO apologized. No one is sure why the prop department had a severed head of GWB hanging around, but I am sure that was an interesting story that was never really esplained.

Anyway, now fast forward to the Trump Administration, and now artists, writers, and pundits have regained their senses of humor and cannot crank out enough words and images of a hopefully soon-to-be dead President Trump! It's all the rage, and also causing a lot of rage for those who think that it is still in poor taste and downright dangerous to do that with any President. Yeah, you all know the whole bloody severed head that Kathy Griffin made famous last week and ended up blaming everyone but herself for the end of her "career".

Which brings me to the latest outrage that has just opened in Central Park -the new conceptualize staging of William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" produced by the very popular, non-profit, NEA-funded Public Theatre for their yearly Shakespeare-In-The-Park series. I am sure that you can easily imagine the "concept" of their newest iteration of Shakespeare's tragedy, and frankly, it's not that imaginative. Yeah, it's set in D.C. in the present day and, though not named Trump, JC is costumed in a suit and tie, and is a blond-bewigged buffoon with a Slavic-sounding, high-fashioned Calpurnia as his wife. And when JC is brutally stabbed by Brutus and crew outside the Senate in Act 3, Scene 1, it is particularly bloody. The director said the concept came to him on Nov. 9, 2016 and he ran with it. As it turns out, the big-moneyed corporate sponsors of the show were not pleased at the potential fallout and began pulling their sponsorships (a/k/a " big money") - Delta and Bank Of America so far - with all of the gnashing of teeth, screams of "Artistic freedom" and backlash that should be expected in our New Age Of Outrage on social media from both sides.

Anyway, I am conflicted about this. I believe in free artistic expression, but I am horrified at the pervasion and the ease in which we are normalizing and even for some gleefully hoping for the worst. As a child who grew up with the spector of a Presidential assassinaton, I know what happens next in that scenario and it ain't glee.

Finally... A Woman!

I despise feminists. They are so whiny and so stupid. They are a disgrace to women. The latest bit of idiocy comes from the success of Wonder Woman.

Over the past two weeks, as Wonder Woman the movie has done well -- it's made $205 million worldwide so far -- feminist chickies have started turning out articles proclaiming that FINALLY, a movie staring (and directed by) a woman has proven that women can be successful action stars!! Oh blessed day. Women can finally achieve something. The age of men is over.

Give me a break.

Let's start with this. Wonder Woman has been a hit since she came out in comic form... she was a founding member of the Justice League This is not some new female character that they invented which the public accepted. She has been a hit with the public since 1941... waaaaaaay back when men wore skins and clubbing women over the head to rape them was accepted (in feminist lore at least). So her being popular is nothing new, so claiming that she represents some sort of sea change is stupid.

Secondly, not to burst anyone's bubble, but Wonder Woman was created by a man. A pervert. So feminists claiming her as a symbol of their success is rather ironic and silly.

Third, before anyone claims that this was the first successful movie directed by a woman, let me point out that this director chickie (Patty Jenkins) didn't exactly pull Wonder Woman out of her *ss. She was hired by male-run D.C. Comics to bring a well-loved, male-created character to the screen as part of the male-created idea of turning comic book characters into big screen franchises. That's hardly taking a risk or testing new ground. Now, let's compare that to... oh, I don't know... Kathryn Bigelow, who directed the unknown story Point Break and had a huge hit. Or how about Penny Marshall directing Big? Then there's Martha Coolidge's Real Genius, Penelope Spheeris' Wayne's World, and Vicky Jenson's Shrek. I guess feminists couldn't be bothered to look those up before declaring Wonder Woman some unheard of triumph for womankind.

And what's this crap about Wonder Woman being the first successful female action hero? Did they not see Resident Evil and it's franchise? Didn't Uma Thurman star in Kill Bill? Didn't Jennifer Lawrence head the Hanger Games. I swear there was a woman in Alien... Sigourney something or other. Women have been action heroes a long time... if feminists paid attention.

Next, why are feminists drawn to women dressed in slinky costumes as role models? Seriously, what gives?

Finally, let me say this again for all the little feminists who just don't seem to get it. You make your own success. If you can't be a success until other people "empower" you, then you are useless. And if you find inspiration from fictinal character, then you're an even bigger idiot.

Crazy.

Trumped Up Headlines

With Britain looking like it plans to elect its own Bernie Sanders and commit mass suicide, let's ignore reality and have some fun.

Here is some bad news for the left that has come up in the past few days.
1. Hillary Clinton owned slaves while in Arkansas... as did Bill.

2. Comey confirms that Obama's Attorney General tried to influence FBI to drop Hillary investigation.

3. Socialists may actually take power in Britain... "good God what will we be blamed for now?"

4. Bernie supporter arrested for espionage.

5. Bernie supporter kills two people after attacking Muslims. Likely Bernie supporter steals wedding ring from dead hero.

6. Arabs care as much about terrorism as the rest of us... except the Saudi national soccer team refused to participate in a moment of silence to honor the London terrorism victims. Apparently, killing infidels isn't a sin, so participating made no sense.

7. Vegan diets cause kids to fall behind in school... drinking almond milk instead of regular milk results in children being 1.5 centimeters shorter.

8. The Wonder Woman characters was invented by some dude into S&M.
Not good, not good. But we can do better. Let's come up with some leftist headlines. What is a leftist headline? It's what you see at all the leftist news sites: lies, distortions, painful mental gymnastics, all to make their worldview make sense. Here are some examples:
Unemployment down, but white men benefit!

Employment rises, but are jobs healthy?

Trump saves children from drowning... how many will grow up to be rapists?

Fat stripper responds to troll, and we are inspired.

Bastion of free speech, Harvard cancels admissions of ten students who tell jokes the left doesn't like.

Could absence of anti-Trump evidence at Congressional Hearing be the smoking gun?
How about yours?

Little Big Shots

I was going to write something meaningful, life-changing, and totally relevant probably about Comey or something. But, I got sidetracked by turning on my TV and tuning into a show called "Little Big Shots" hosted by Steve Harvey. Have any of you seen this show?

I have watched it before and am always caught off guard by how wholesome it is. If you haven't seen it, Steve Harvey (a modern day Art Linkletter) interviews children around the world who are on the show to show off their various and sundry talents gleened from Youtube videos and Facebook postings - singers, dancers, athletes, and some are just amazing public speakers. But what all of them have one thingk in common - they are just down-to-earth kids mostly between the ages of 5-16 who are extremely respectful, wholesome, and amazingly talented.

Here is a sample from tonight's show:

The voice of angel! And I love that the interpretor for the non-English speaking children are other children. It's just a wonderful.

And this kid...a future President?

It's just heartwarming, and hopeful for the world's future. With all of the bad, negative crap in the world, it's great to see really something postive and wholesome that families can watch together without fear. And, from the advertising, there is going to be a version hosted by Steve Harvey with the over-80 crowd showing off their talent that just shows that "It ain't over until it's over!"

Anyway, back to reality. The floor is open.

Reality Sucks... Liberal Style

With Kathy Griffin trying to explain her crapulence by obliviously doubling down on it, the weekend apparently became open season for liberals whining that reality sucks. Enjoy!

● Crime and Punishment 1: Interesting article this weekend about the 230 rioters ("Black Bloc Anarchists") who were arrested in DC for "protesting Trump" during his inauguration. This is a group who thought they could burn cars, shatter windows and engage in a running fight with cops and pro-Trump protesters. Apparently, these moronic "anarchists" (read: socialists) thought this was acceptable, and that all they would get would be a slap on the wrist if caught. But now they are facing up to 80 years in prison for felony rioting and other charges... and the government is serious about sentencing them too. Whined one:
"I am wondering if my 24th birthday next week will be my last as a free person. [ed. boo hoo hoo] I've never in my life had such a painful and stressful experience. There are no words to convey the severity of this. ... I'm pretty shocked by the impact it's had on my personal life. It seems that innocent until proven guilty is a falsehood - all the way from the prosecution and police to the people who had previously supported me in my activism. It's hanging over my head the entire time, which makes it really challenging. It hinders your ability to plan your life."
Maybe you shouldn't have set out to "Make Racists Afraid Again"? Maybe you shouldn't have started fires, damaged buildings, attacked people? See, idiots, this was all avoidable if you hadn't chosen to act like Nazis. The funny part is that it never occurred to her that they would get punished. Even funnier, she never expected her friends to abandon her because of her "activism." Reality sucks.

● Crime and Punishment 2: A Bernie Sanders supporter with the world's most stupid name "Reality Winner" was arrested this weekend because she got a job with a contractor who worked for the NSA and she decided to leak classified material to her friends in the media to "Resist Trump." Now she's facing at least 10 years in prison. Of course, having done this and filled her social media with vile hate for America and Americans, her parents are now claiming that she meant no wrong. Naturally, the parents of such a turd are also suggesting a conspiracy... and that is why your kid is going to prison, shitheads. Reality strikes again.

● Colin Kaepernick: The leftist media is really going into a tizzy that no one will sign Colin Kaepernick. The reason is obvious: they don't want to believe that they can actually suffer sanction for their fringe views, and the fact no one wants Kaepernick shows them the truth. They aren't giving in to reality yet though. One idiot wrote this on the weekend:
"Owners may be shying away from signing Colin Kaepernick because they fear a fan backlash, but it’s also worth considering how many fans a team will gain if it signs Kaepernick."
Uh, that would be none. Kaepernick's support in the NFL was about 40 players out of 1,900. The NFL suffered a huge fall in ratings. Articles supporting him are generally shouted down at a 10-1 rate. The owner of the Giants said they get mail from people demanding that he not be signed, even though they've never considered it. What proof do you have that he isn't poison? Oh but wait...
"Kaepernick revealed on social media today that he’s been inundated with fan mail. 'I want to thank the people for the support! My parents sent me these photos yesterday and continue to receive dollies full of mail in support! I couldn’t do this without the people, I love you,' Kaepernick wrote."
See! See! Kaepernick self reported that he gets fan mail, which proves the public really loved him! Wee! What? There's more? Oh, I can't wait.
"That’s not the first piece of data that shows Kaepernick has a big fan base: NFL Shop revealed in September, shortly after Kaepernick began his national anthem protest, that Kaepernick’s jersey was the league’s top-selling piece of merchandise."
Uh, yeah. That was for one weekend and could have been as little as a couple hundred jerseys. Since that time, he doesn't even appear on the list anymore of players worth noting for their sales. So that idea is wishful thinking. But wait, there's more...
"Kaepernick is a polarizing figure, but being polarizing isn’t necessarily a bad thing. By definition, a polarizing figure has a lot of people who support him, and in Kaepernick’s case those people will be eager to cheer for his team this season."
Wow. First, that's a tautology. You defined him in a way that caused your conclusion. Secondly, the modern definition of polarizing does not imply that anyone supports him, it now means controversial. Third, Hitler was polarizing. Does that mean he was popular too? Idiot. Accept the truth, dude. Your buddy is fringe of the fringe, and his fringe is unpalatable.

● Gaying Kids 1: I’ve come to realize that Yahoo is essentially staffed with fat women with low self-esteem, who think that if they can just put out enough articles about fat women responding to trolls on instagram or gay couples getting married that their own miserable lives will suddenly have meaning. Staff meetings must be a joy. Anyways, one article Yahoo featured prominently this weekend was about a rotten mother who is taking pictures of her “son” in dresses because it gets her off... uh, to show she brainwashed her kid into thinking gender stereotypes don’t matter. She claims all she wants is tolerance and to not be accused of abusing her son. Of course, she is abusing her son, but that’s a matter for another day. What I found interesting was that Yahoo pimped this story as "important" and tried to sell the idea that this woman's sick view was now widely accepted, yet they made it impossible to comment on the story. Every other article on Yahoo’s page was open to comments, but not this one. Why not? Because despite trying to push sh*t like this as normal, the fat leftist chicks at Yahoo know it is not normal and they don’t want the public bursting their bubbles.

● Gaying Kids 2: Today, there is a bunch of whining over an ad by Benetton which shows three little gay boys with their arms wrapped around each other. At least, I assume they're gay because heterosexual boys don't look or act like these three. Anyways, the caption said, "Sorry ladies, no girls allowed." Which makes even more sense when you get they are gay. Anyways, the League of Whiny Women went insane. "How dare you exclude girls!!" Of course, this was the same league who were outraged that a man tried to see "Wonder Woman" at a women's only showing last week.

● I'm Confused: Finally this. A bad dogma collision. Somebody wrote the N-word on Lebron James's house in Beverly Hills last weekend. Of course, this became all about racism because white people never get insulted. Then Jason Whitlock of FS1 Network stepped in it. He said that racism against rich blacks isn't racism. This makes sense when you look at the hierarchy of leftist hate thought. Racism is always bad, right? Wrong. Racism against conservative blacks is not racism. It is, in fact, deserved. What's more, rich people are evil and need to be killed for their crimes (except Warren Buffett and Obama). So it makes sense that a leftist would conclude that rich-hate trumps hate of racists. Ergo, race crimes against rich blacks don't count.

The left lost their minds... because racism is always bad (except when it isn't) and they would never suggest that hate is acceptable (except when they do).

Even more interestingly, one idiot "journalist" twisted this to say what Whitlock was doing was creating controversy to move his network to the right because vague forces are pushing the sports networks to the hard right. So think about that: to move a network to the right, a racist black journalist made a point that we should hate rich people even if they are black. Does that sound right wing to you? Didn't think so. But that is how leftists twist reality to avoid their shameful views when they are exposed in the light of day.

Losers.

Heartbreaking to Heartwarming...

There is some wisdom in not jumping to conclusions before you have all or a least most of the facts first. It's hard these days to not think that the entire world is filled with bad people doing bad things. But sometimes if you just wait for the facts to come out, it can really turn out to be something quite different. It can turn from heartbreaking to heartwarming and downright funny.

Here is an example.

An Air Force veteran and his family recently moved to San Antonio, Texas, and put out little American flags on display in their new garden in honor of Memorial Day. Soon after the little flags were placed, they started to disappear leaving only the tiny poles in place. The family was heartbroken that people could be so mean and were upset that maybe they had moved to a hostile place.

Fortunately for them, their new next-door neighbor had been filming the culprits on her cellphone and showed it to the family. Busted, they thought. They could bring these thieves to justice! Well, their heartbreak and revenge soon turned into something quite different. It turns out the evil, flag-stealing culprits were two resourceful squirrels industriously building a nest in the top of a tree for their little squirrel family and were just using the flags as readily available materials! Clever little rodents!

The neighbor told them that she saw one of the squirrels tear off the first flag and, so amazed by its cleverness, she started filming the rest of the theft. Ten flags in all were ripped from their little poles with great effort by these two little thieves and used to make quite a colorful little nest in the tree.

So the moral of this story is that sometimes when you think the worst of people, it could really just be squirrels building a nest.

Liberals Being Stupid

Liberals are morons. There's no doubt about it. Their ideas -- if you can call them that... perhaps "feelings" is a better word for it -- will bankrupt nations, destroy lives, create chaos, encourage the evil, discourage virtues, and just generally mess everything up.

● Liberals in California want to impose a single payer health system on the state. To give you a sense of how stupid this is, consider this statement from Modesto Republican Tom Berryhill:
“If we cut every single program and expense from the state budget and redirected that money to this bill, SB 562, we wouldn’t even cover half of the $400-billion price tag.”
Even socialist, wealthy Vermont couldn't pull this turkey off. But believe it or not, I'm all in favorite of it. Why? Because I like watching liberals sh*t the bed. Moreover, it would be good for the rest of us to have a nice little beacon of disaster to point to when the idiots in our own states try to do the same thing.

● Beyond that, Maxine Waters and her posse want to impeach Trump. I'm all for that too. It won't go anywhere but it will once again highlight just how obsessed and messed up the Democrats are. That could help a good deal with the midterm elections.

● There was apparently something called the "March for Truth." This was a group of anti-Trump types who held rallies in a handful of cities demanding blah blah blah truth! This was so ineffective that it was even ignored by leftist news cites. Yahoo didn't even mention it until two days later and then in one tiny article down the page. It sounds like the left has lost its energy. It also sounds like after making "truth" and more specifically "trutherism" into such a bad thing, a march for "truth" probably won't provide the best optics. Neither will the signs with the four letter words. Keep marching, idiots.

Paranoid Time!

Come one... come all... show us your most creative paranoias. For inspiration, think of Kathy Griffin. Poor, poor Kathy's press conference devolved into a toxic mix of rage, self-pity and total obliviousness to her crapulence. But from this festival of hate did come one endearing thought: "There's a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me!"

Really? So a white chick is claiming racism when the public gets upset at her pretending to cut off the head of a white President. Hmm.

Well, I believe you Kathy. I really do. See, I've always been convinced that a council of black elders has been trying to silence me my whole life. Yep. These five black men, each of whom weighs 300+ pounds and wears a purple or yellow or orange striped suit, has been stalking me my whole life. Every time I try to cut off someone's head for fun, they wag their filthy cigars at me and stop me. Booo! I'm suuuuuuuch a victim!

So I'm with you Kathy. Oh, I'm not as ugly as you and I'm not a hate-filled little troll like you, but I do feel your pain. What kind of world do we live in where the public can deny us their support just because we engage in hateful displays? Is there no First Amendment anymore? Sigh.

Anyways, Kathy needs support. So tell us, who's stopping you? Give us your best paranoid enemies list! Do it for Kathy. :D

"Only in New York, kids, only in New York!"

Let's just dive right in...

First up, June 11, 2017 - Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade:

Throughout the year, NYC has a series of annual parades to celebrate the diversity that is makes up the mosaic of our population in here. We have parades for everything from Gay Pride to Tartan Pride to St. Patrick's Pride. All to emphasize the great mosaic that is NYC. But this year is particularly special.

On June 11, 2017, NYC will honor it's first terrorist in the annual Puerto Rican Day parade! At the urging of the NYC City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, NYC will be honoring a man who once had a hand in bombing us - Oscar López Rivera. Oscar López Rivera had been in federal prison since 1981, convicted for "seditious conspiracy" to overthrow the the government of the United States, in relation to his membership in the Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional, or FALN. Between 1974 and 1983, the FALN claimed responsibility for more than 70 bombings in New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. The bombings caused millions in property damage, dozens of injuries and five deaths.

Their most famous was a bombing at Fraunce's Tavern in lower Manhattan that killed 4 people including police officers and maiming dozens of other. [For you history buffs, Fraunce's Tavern was where Gen Washington bid farwell to his troops.] Barack Obama commuted his 55 year sentence to 35 years of this convicted felon in the 11th hour of his presidency and he was released from prison. Mark-Viverito flew down to Puerto Rico to greet him on his exit.

As of today, most if not all of the corporate sponsors of the parade have pulled out including the Police Commissioner and the Puerto Rican police societies. Even the Governor of Puerto Rico is condemning Lopez' honor. Amazingly Gov. Cuomo, Sen. Schumer, and a myriad of other city/state officials have come up with last minute "scheduling conflicts", so they can't march. Only Mayor DeBlasio and Mark-Viverito who are proud to march along side a known convicted terrorist. It will interesting to see what happens next as many in the Puerto Rican community are declining to attend because they never wanted this great celebratory parade to be tainted with politics.

**UPDATE** Rivera has declined to be honored by the Puerto Rican Parade and will just march as a regular participant. Though DeBlasio had decided before this announcement that he would march in the parade, but not with Rivera. Mark-Viverito remains silent...finally.

Next up: Alamo RoadHouse/Feminist discrimination with Steve Miller aka @redsteeze...

Oh, come on this has been going on for days on Twitter. Alamo Drafthouse, a longtime movie theatre/bar-restaurant (originating in Dallas in the '80's) opened up a chain in Brooklyn where they announced they would be having a special Women's Only showing of "Wonder Woman" - No Men Allowed. Well, at least one man (Steve Miller of Twitter Blue-check fame) took exception to the advertising and bought a ticket. Well, you'd think that he had killed a puppy! The screaming/shouting/ranting at him on Twitter went on all through Memorial Day weekend and into the last few days. (Well, until Kathy Griffin took over...) How dare a man want to...well, you can imagine. Miller's point is that you can't demand equality on one hand and discriminate on the other. Yeah, it's just a movie and before it was just a cake or a florist or the Little Sisters of Charity. What Miller did most was just help point up how intrenched the "Rules of Thee, BUt Not For Me" have become for our lefty friends.

Now for the finish - Continuing Saga of the Bull, The Fearless Girl, and...a Pissing Dog??? Oy...

Okay, now this was really funny. Well, at least for me. So remember the Wall Street Bull statue issue a few months ago? Yeah, the one where one of the big Wall Street investment firms decided, as a marketing gimic to add a statue of a little girl standing up against the Bull to...oh, I don't even care what for. It became a thing about gender equality or something. The Bull artist was upset because it destroyed the original vision of his artwork. Lawsuits ensued

Well, anyway, this weekend, another clever artist decided to add his own piece to the mix to show solidarity to the original "Bull" artist. He added a paper mache dog hiking his leg on the the Fearless Girl...

By the way, the dog didn't last long, but it sure was funny. I was hoping someone would add either a "Dog Catcher With Net" or a "Truant Officer" next. Heck even a "Matador With Cape" would work...

So to end, I am stealing the fitting tagline from famous NY Post Gossip Columnist Cindy Adams: "Only in New York, kids, only in New York!".
