Caption This: Obama's Women

It was announced yesterday that Leon Panetta's final act as Secretary of Defense will be to lift the ban on women serving in frontline combat. I say it's about time. If women want full equality, then serving in the front lines of combat should be part of that and with that should come all the opportunities of advancement. And, just so you get how really "feminist" I am, I believe that if we ever re-institute the draft, it should include women 18 years and older.

Now that I have gotten that off my chest, aren't we glad we have a President who is so interested in the opinions and advancement of equality for women? I mean, he has made sure that the women at the WH are paid equally...oops, well, okay, not true. Okay, but even more importantly, he appointed more women to his cabinet than any other President. So, with most of the women cabinet members "retiring" in the next few weeks, it is kind of funny that the guy whose central theme of his re-election campaign was the "War on Women" is replacing each one of them with...old, white men. Huh??? Hmmmm...er...uh...but, hey, at least he's sending them to the front lines, right?

Anyway, let's play a game to take our minds off of the most important scandal of the week: Lip-synch-gate*!

Can you spot the women in this photo? No? Where did they go? What are they doing? You decide...

Oh, wait, there's one in this photo. That arrow points to Obama's Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett supposedly, but still where are the other women?

And, by the way, would it kill them to dress appropriately in the Oval Office??

*We predict this will be nominated for "Best/Worst Use of Misdirection/Diversion by the MSM To Overshadow Big, Bad Issue That The WH Needs To Cover Up" at the upcoming Comment-A-wards Ceremonies (or "Commies")this Spring.

Bev, Uh... Is Valerie Jarrett invisible or is she the new Waldo?

As for the women in combat thing, I hope they do add women to the draft because that could help break the link between women and liberals... assuming we actually want women to vote for us, which I'm not sure about.

Andrew - In trying to divert the liberal's attention from the "where are the women in the Oval Office" debate that started with the Hagel and Kerry nominations, someone painted in a shadow on this official "Look at us working" photo and called it "Valerie Jarrett" to quell the liberal rumblings of dissappointment and confusion.

I have always felt that sandals, old ratty cut-off Levis and a stained wife beater t-shirt were appropriate wear for the Oval Office given the occupant. Given the number of bull lesbians that he has running around, I think that they'd agree with me.

Bev, LOL! Don't worry, Obama means well in his sexism.

Actually, I've said from day one that I think he's a misogynist, and everything he's done throughout his administration makes me think that's true.

As an aside, are you sure she isn't just hidden under the desk?

AndrewPrice said...

LL, How about an underwear administration? They should all be allowed only to wear their Underware. For uh... safety reasons... wouldn't want them sneaking weapons into the Oval Office.

Honestly, this isn't really equality. If I remember right, the new policy is that women are "allowed" to serve on the front lines, if they wish to. Guys don't get to choose, they just go. Not that I care, just saying.

So does this mean that we will now have "battles full of women"? (Rimshot!)

The Israeli's draft women, but don't put them in frontline combat. When your country is, you know, actually threatened with destruction, you can't afford PC posturing.

Actual gender equality = all women between the ages of 18 and 30 should now be required to sign up with the selective service. You won't see the Democrats touch this with a Washington monument sized pole.

Pretend gender equality = if you're a women in the army you can now volunteer for front line combat duty - if you want.

That was Monica, Andrew.

Bev, It looks like the filibuster is saved. They put in some new rules, but from what I'm reading, it's all just meaningless. Imagine that.

Bev

I see no women in those pictures....

I do see a bunch of girly men though.... where is Hanz and Franz to Pump them Up!

Women in combat is a bad idea for one specific reason. biologically they are more important than men. In WW2 there were some 500K deaths 9mostly men) and yet that period sponsored a "Baby Boom".

One man can produce enough sperm to impregnate tens of thousands of women if given the opportunity. Women can theoretically ahve 30 pregnancies in their life time but the attempt to actually do that might kill them.

Put women in the front line and get them killed or horribly maimed in the next great war and you will have a baby dirth not a baby boom. Men should be in the front line because men are expendable and women are not.

That does not mean that some path for women to be promoted should not be available. There must be another way to accomplish that goal that makes more sense.

YEY!! The filibuster is pretend saved! It is interesting that Reid all but admitted that he Divert, divert, divert...hey look over there - Beyonce is lip-synching to Te'o's pretend girlfriend! had no intention of changing the filibuster rules.

Bev, It's that kind of world... a magical world of make believe, which just happens to keep you from paying attention to real issue.

BevfromNYC said...

LL and Andrew - re: The underwear administration

It would be an Obama dream combination of real transparency and the Emperor's New Clothes. Obama will just tell everyone that, if you can't see that everyone is wearing suits and ties, then you are a fool/racist/Republican/whatever.

AndrewPrice said...

Indi, So the value of women is as breeding machines?

BevfromNYC said...

Indi and K - Yes, once again the women will get the choice, but men will not. That seems fair and equal.

OF COURSE, women are more valuable than men! I doubt you would find many women who would disagree with...oh, wait, you mean, just biologically. ;-) Seriously, I believe that there are movies that touch on that issue - The HandMaiden's Tale and The Children Of Men.

I think that women should be made to register like the men 18-30. If Obama is serious about National service, then why not?

Ol' Charlie Rangel had been calling to reinstate the draft during the Bush Administration, but in his case, he wrongly believed that there was a disproportionate number of minorities in the military. An actual reporter from the actual MSM (not Fox News!) disspelled him of that myth in a really wonderful moment to which he foolishly replied that he didn't care about what the Defense Dept statistics were! However he never said another word about the draft again.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, The Democratic myth that the is predominantly poor and minorities continues full speed because it's a great way to call America racist when it really isn't. Not only do the statistics not bear that out, but everything I've seen about the racial percentages in combat troops shows that minorities are vastly under-represented. They tend to go into administration positions.

As for women being more important, you should ask for a raise! :)

T-Rav said...

By the way, I don't know why we're arguing over gender equality in combat when the much more important matter of gender equality in impersonating Manti Te'o's girlfriend has been resolved. One step at a time, people.

T-Rav, One small step for a troll, one giant step for troll-kind.

I've been following the story and I'm believing now that he really didn't know what was going on and that's a really sh*tty thing to do to someone.

El Gordo said...

Individualist - In my opinion, a nation that puts its women in the front line isn´t civilized. On the other hand, if both sexes insist on doing away with chivalry, why not go the whole way?

But of course your scenario will not happen. Very few women will actually fight and die in combat. Some men will die trying to protect them. And the fate of those who are captured will convince the majority to look for other oportunities.

Make no mistake, I respect any person who chooses to serve. But I believe that is the likely outcome.

The real question is what will happen if a woman "chooses" to serve in combat but doesn´t have the strength to run with fifty pounds of equipment across a desert valley and fight at the end of it? Will Obama ban gravity and dysentery?

BevfromNYC said...

"Will Obama ban gravity and dysentery?"

Yes, El Gordo, I believe he can and will. He holds dominion over all laws - even those governing gravity. He won! He is The Obama!

Liberals said...

Why the sarcasm? Don't you wingnuts realize that like all laws, gravity is a living rule meant to change with the times??

Koshcat said...

Obama has put women right he thinks they will do best...in the kitchen.

Seriously, all Michelle does is run around telling us to eat our vegetables. She is like the first mom, except far more irritating.

Women are more important plus they are nice and soft and they smell good.

I think Te'o knew all along. Otherwise one has to believe that one of his close male friends speaking falsetto to him fooled him for three years.

Also, I haven't heard a convincing explanation for why Te'o and his father once claimed to have met this nonexistent women or why he continued to lie (convincingly) about her even after he claims he learned she was fake.

Some Redskins players had a brush with a nonexistent women, but they corresponded for a bit, tried to meet the women, couldn't (obviously) and moved on, the way real dupes do.

I'm with Koshcat, by the way -- they're soft and nice and they smell good. :)

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, The reason he gave for lying is that he didn't want to be embarrassed by having to tell people she stood him up. It's believable.

The father I can't explain.

At this point, it's not clear yet, but I'm leaning toward him being taken in.

El Gordo said...

BevfromNYC, I´m sure he can stop dysentery too.
He is the father of our nation, the bringer of constipation.

El Gordo, seriously, the seas have receded and the Earth is beginning to heal. Can't you tell? He is the Alpha-bits and the Omega-3. So shall the MSM write it, so shall it be...forever and ever (or until his term is up)
