Leftists Behaving Badly Update

More leftist misbehavior. It's funny how they're the ones who do these things, yet they think we're the bad guys.

● The Governor of Virginia and the Attorney General, both liberals, have yet to resign over blackface images (and other incidents). What's more, lots of Democrats are now saying that resignation wasn't called for. Remember that the next time they scream about someone else and demand a resignation.

● The Lt. Governor of Virginia, who is black and accused of two rapes, has not resigned either. He's denying the charges and responding with race-baiting language by calling the calls for his resignation a "modern day lynching." Funny how race trumps sex crimes. As an aside, this is another good measure of how the #metoo movement achieved nothing. They wanted a mere allegation of making a woman uncomfortable to be enough to result in public banishment. Here's a Lt. Governor accused of two rapes who has basically flipped his accusers the bird.

● Speaking of #metoo and the other associated hashtags, did you know they incorporated? Yep. Kind of tells you something, doesn't it? Anyways the "CEO" of the circus had to resign after her own son was accused of inappropriate sexual conduct.

● The left is trying very hard to shift the terms of the Jessie Smollett thing from what it is to "but there are such crimes and that's all that matters." Some ridiculously even add, "He drew attention to this." Right, like a rapist draws attention to sex crimes. In fact, lots of celebs are putting out statements "condemning" Smollett by calling for sympathy and understanding because of the horrible racist, anti-gay world in which we live. They have learned nothing... as expected.

● Coincidentally, there is another one of these. Last year, a "gay rights activist" in Michigan claimed that evil anti-gayists burned down his house, killing his dog and cats, because he was gay. Hate crime! Hate crime! Turn outs, he did it. Several witnesses said he was even covered in gas when they came to see what was happening... gas he bought an hour earlier in a can at a gas pump which caused the fire. Uh, gee, must be a secret Trump supporter.

● There is an interesting book written by a professor of some sort who examined headline cases of hate crimes. He found that in the past couple years, over 400 of the hate crimes that made the news turned out to be faked by the victim. He doesn't tell us how many made the news in total but working his numbers backwards, he looked at about 750 instances. That's a HUGE percentage and really should be cause for questioning on the left... but that doesn't fit their narrative.

● Hillary tells us she will not be silenced. Ok. I didn't know anyone had told the old bag to STFU?

● Maryland Del. Mary Ann Lisanti is begin called upon to resign. She's a democrat, but you'll have to search to find that in most articles. She apparently called certain Maryland counties "n*gger country" a couple weeks back. When this came to light, her defense was, "but I'm sure everyone's used that word." The mindset of a liberal, folks. Wanna bet she would be screaming if a Republican had said it?

● Bernie Sanders' former campaign manager has been accused of harassing women during the 2016 campaign and Bernie is accused of not doing anything about it. Bernie thinks that horrible.

Thoughts?

I just saw that the governor's wife is in trouble for handing cotton to two black kids during a mansion visit and telling them to imagine being slaves and picking cotton.

This seems a little touchy, but why the heck not. This is the world the left wants, let them pay the price of living in it...

Andrew, except the rules are only for the right to follow. The left are the enforcers of the rules and are thus exempt from them due to their superior moral attitudes.

And at first we thought the First Lady of Virginia was the sensible one because she stopped her man from demonstrating his moonwalk on national tv! To be fair, her version of the incident is that whenever a field trip or tour group comes through the governors mansion she hands them samples of traditional Virginia crops like cotton and tobacco and explains how much hard physical labor went into their production. This time two kids,or more llikely their parents, got butt-hurt and complained. This actually makes more sense. But to borrow from Robert Bolt, When the last law of civility and decency was cut down, and the devil of political correctness turns round on you, where will you hide? The left cut down the laws and unleashed the devil. Live in the world you made. Her husband is a particularly unsympathetic character with his "The baby will be kept comfortable" until we decide if we'll kill it schtick .

Patriot, That's how they think and I, for one, don't accept that thinking. Until they go after their own, they have ZERO moral authority to talk to me. And even then, I don't recognize their Nazism as legitimate.

GypsyTyger, I personally think it's ridiculous that anyone would complain about that. She was clearly just offering an educational moment that might be relevant to these kids. Complaining about that is as stupid as complaining that "bad things exist." Tough sh*t.

Buuuuuuut, this is the world the left wants and I'm happy to let them destroy each other in it.

1. The governor of Virginia never specified if he was the guy in the KKK outfit or the guy in blackface. Its clear he isn't going to resign even if it means damaging his party's prospects. The KKK/blackface thing is just a symptom of the ongoing phenomena of his idiocy.

Like I've said before the AG is weird because if he hadn't volunteered his past love of blackface no one would know about it.

2. Both the charges against the lieutenant governor are new allegations of old crimes and thus unverifiable. Still I doubt he would be around if one of his accusers hadn't named another random celeb as another guy who raped her.

As it stands the charges destroy any hopes he had of rising further. If he digs up evidence they are fake he can get out from under but race won't save him. America loves a playboy in the presidency every so often (nods towards Kennedy, Trump and Clinton) but not a black playboy.

3) That Metoo thing is weird but politics and business are getting more and more entangled nowadays.

4) Jussie Smollett became the toast of talk radio for his hoax and he will remain as such for years. Nothing will change that. Activist victim and light but inflammatory injuries should always be greeted with skepticism.

5) That gay activist who burned down his own home was certainly committed. I never heard of him before your mention of him but I confess the fact he killed his own animals would have thrown my BS detector. That is some cold stuff right there.

6. That's kind of a vague book description. The only recent book I came up with was this one but it doesn't fit the bill because its premise seems to be the opposite of yours.

https://news.yahoo.com/tale-two-hate-crimes-hoax-unraveled-plot-foiled-202617810.html

The hoax allegedly perpetrated by the “Empire” actor wasn't just shocking, for many it confirmed perceptions of how gullible the mainstream press can be. For conservative critics, the Smollett hoax raised deeper questions about whether leftist partisans are too quick to believe anything negative about Trump supporters.
But criminologists say a hoax should not be used to dismiss the atmosphere that prosecutors say Mr. Smollett sought to manipulate. Hate crimes increased for the third year in a row in 2017 – up 17 percent, according to an FBI report released in November. Some 60 percent of victims were targeted because of their race or ethnicity, and the largest increase was in anti-Semitic crimes, which jumped 37 percent in one year.

7. Lisanti's comments have been widely reported and condemned, but she refuses to resign. Unfortunately she's not up for reelection until 2022 but given that the Hartford is 33% black I doubt she'll enjoy a third term.

8. The Democrats want illegals to be able to buy guns or something. I don't have much respect for Trump, but I stand by my prediction he will win reelection. There's an old joke about two guys running from a bear. Guy A says 'We can't outrun the bear'. Guy B replies 'I don't have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun you'.

The legislation that prompted the infighting was a bill that would expand federal background checks for gun purchases, the Washington Post reported. But a key provision requiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be notified if illegal immigrants attempt to purchase guns saw 26 moderate Democrats side with Republicans.

I have always wondered to what extent many leftists fully realize they are spouting bullshit, but are just sometimes adept and trying to give their real motives a positive spin. Example, do they really care about people hoping for a better life or are they just looking to give themselves a permanent majority by changing the demographics to add more “victimized” classes (read white males).

To be sure, both sides do a good job of hypocrisy. We cannot convict Lt. Governor without a fair investigation anymore than Dems could convict Kavanaugh. I also am not a fan of what historians refer to as presentism, holding people decades or centuries ago by today’s standards. I don’t like the idea of going back to yearbooks be it Mitt Romney, George Bush, Brett Kavanaugh, or the Virginia Governor. What screws the Governor is he tried to cover it up after it came to light.

In the same vein, I never liked Republicans claiming Democrats are the original party of the KKK. We lost our ability to make that argument once Nixon won with the southern strategy.

I do believe there have been a few rumblings for Hillary to get out of the way coming from the millennial socialist wing of the party. Republicans would be happy to run against her. With what is now known about her cover up. The Clintons, of course, have no shame and are Pavlovian when it comes to the presidency. Hillary dreamed she was to be Kalise, breaker of glass ceilings, belonging on Rushmore. She was owed god damnit! Which means, of course, she is busy figuring if there is any possible way to kneecap the other candidates and find a way to the nomination. That is, if she doesn’t pass away before 2020

Funny how these things work. I was thinking about double-standards this morning before I read this. No, the left does not have moral authority, but they do have The Narrative.

The Narrative asserts that Team Mainstream keeps a clean house, and as such, their dirt gets seen as it's tossed out the door. Therefore, there is no cause to worry about that dirt. On the other hand, The Narrative also asserts that Team Scapegoat performs no such maintenance, so their dirt is only exposed by activities of the Mainstream. The dirt you see being tossed out their door just means Team Scapegoat is nothing but dirt.

The Narrative is undergirded by the fact that its keepers, i.e. the Mainstream Media, are functionaries of Team Mainstream. Thus, from the vantage they provide, this all appears to be perfectly true. One would have to venture beyond the MSM in order to gain a different vantage. But venturing beyond the MSM vantage would put you outside of the Mainstream, and who would do that? My guess is, only a bigot.

Another Democrat is throwing his hat into the presidential arena. Soon the list of people running will be longer than the list of people not running.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hickenlooper-colorado-gov-jumps-into-2020-race

The 67-year-old geologist turned successful startup brewpub owner, who later served two terms as Denver mayor before being elected Colorado governor, joins a crowded field of contenders vying for the nomination.
Hickenlooper, who in January finished up his second term steering Colorado, becomes the second sitting or former governor to enter the race. Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee announced his candidacy on Friday.
Like Inslee, Hickenlooper faces a long-shot bid against a number of higher-profile contenders such as Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Kamala Harris of California, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York.
Former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, who served as Housing and Urban Development secretary under President Barack Obama, is also running, as are Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, former Rep. John Delaney of Maryland, and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
A number other Democrats are moving toward White House bids, including former Vice President Joe Biden, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke of Texas, Sens. Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Jeff Merkley of Oregon, and Rep. Eric Swalwell of California.
