Oh, dear...

We have finally arrived at the Age of Idiocracy. Who knew that the movie of the same name was really a prophetic documentary! Yes, at the VMA Awards this week, Kanye West has declared he is running for President in 2020...
"...If my grandfather was here right now he would not let me back down! I don’t know I’m fittin’ to lose after this. It don’t matter though, cuz it ain’t about me. It’s about ideas, bro. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.” [start at 11:47]

Yeah, you know what you are about to see...

But the good news is that Kim Kardashian will be the First Lady! [Insert naked picture of future First Lady...later...MUCH later] Yey...

Any questions?

BOOM!...*mic drop*.

I think this merits a flashback to getting owned two months ago by a man who has been dead for over 20 years.

This is what Trump hath wrought.

Good thing he is not running this year, otherwise it would start veering into California recall territory.

I'd vote Kanye just to see every white house press conference end with a mic drop.

tryanmax said...

Also, I need to look into manufacturing rubber microphones made from the superball stuff.

AndrewPrice said...

Kanye should run on the same ticket as Trump.

AndrewPrice said...

Grr. A federal judge overturned Brady's suspension. So cheating does pay... it pays really well.

AndrewPrice said...

BTW, Bev, I love how you dropped the mic! LOL! Nicely done! :D

AndrewPrice said...

Here are Kanye's poll numbers. LOL!

Strongly or Somewhat Favorable: 13%
Strongly Unfavorable: 50%

Would vote for: 6%
Would not vote for: 65%

Run Forest, run!

I think that Kanye's road to the White House should start at the California Governor's mansion. To suggest that he might be better than Jerry Brown would be like a limbo contest (how low can you go), but he just might be.

Btw, is it "BOOM...*mic drop"" or "mic drop...BOOM!"?? I agonized over that for a very long few seconds....

Re - Brady - my husband called this one. He said he would believe Brady's suspension when he say it. Grrrrr is right, Andrew!

TJ said...

"saw it" - I really HATE typos!

BevfromNYC said...

Someone on Twitter made the comment that Kanye's Presidency would bring a whole new meaning the "West Wing"...hah!

BevfromNYC said...

TJ - We forgive you this time for the "typos", but certainly none of us every make typos...sertinly knot meet...

But, more about Brady. I am so surprised that this is such a court drama. He played with knowingly deflated balls...suspension period! The guys who deflated them..fired. Pay huge football salary appropriate fine...move on. How hard can that be? But then again the Patriots cheat all the time and are never, ever held accountable!

"...Also, I need to look into manufacturing rubber microphones made from the superball stuff."

Tryanmax - You need to add to your new line of rubber superball microphones a microphone-shaped alarm clocks that you drop them to shut them off! I would use that thing every single morning...

Hillary's IT guy is taking the Fifth,,,hmmm. If Barry Obama really wants Joe in the White House, now is the time to sink HIllary...if he waits too long it will taint the Dims as a whole.

TJ, It drives me crazy. This team cheated. Then they covered it up, lied openly to the public, flooded the public with misinformation, and attacked the NFL itself. And yet, their sycophantic fans view them as the victims.

Apparently, right and wrong don't matter in Boston... or at the NFL Network.

AndrewPrice said...

In other interesting news, Hillary's e-mails were apparently hacked and are being shopped to the highest bidder. This is going to be fantastic! Unless Bill suddenly writes a huge check.

BevfromNYC said...

Andrew - There is not a check big enough that the Clintons could write that the RNC would not double right now. But then again, it just could be a hoax that someone is gambling will work.

Since today's article invokes Idocracy, I think it's on topic to share a HotAir article I came across. Apparently, Republicans like Democrat ideas when they are told they are Trump's. HuffPo did the study, but the HotAir piece points out that the opposite also holds true; Democrats like their own party's ideas less when told they come from Trump, and the effect on Democrats seems to be greater. Interesting and humorous if you have a moment LINK

A criminal in Milwaukee straw purchased 55 guns and was given a year's probation instead of prison because the Federal judge felt that he was sorry enough for his actions. ENFORCE THE LAWS WE HAVE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

BevfromNYC said...

Critch - I find this whole issue of the Kentucky Marriage License clerk being arrested for not wanting to issue ones for same-sex couples interesting. She really should quit or be recalled. She can't be fired because she's elected. She has a duty to execute the law whether she likes it or not.

When the courts rule that she is in violation of her duty as a public official to uphold and execute the law whether she likes it or not, it could have interesting repercussions and unintended consequences for liberals. Some clever person/advocacy group could take that ruling and apply it to the INS and illegal immigration/Sanctuary City state rules too.

Critch said...

She should have just resigned. I don't know what she's trying to prove.

BevfromNYC said...

Tryanmax - That is great. Of course. it's true that HuffPo conveniently left out the analysis that Dems do exactly the same thing when Obama's name is attached to an idea that is Trump's or Satan's.

BevfromNYC said...

Critch - I wholeheartedly agree. Maybe a night in jail will change her mind. But then there is a Judge in Tennessee who refused to grant a divorce to a straight couple. His reasoning was that now that the Feds are defining marriage, they need to define "divorce" as well. And he had no jurisdiction to make that decision. Of course, he is grandstanding, but one has to add points for creativity!

Anthony said...

I think the Kentucky clerk figures that being a conservative cause celebre can be a lucrative gig. Given that she's on her fourth marriage, I doubt she feels all that strongly about the sacredness of marriage vows.

Anthony said...

Kayne West probably wouldn't go far as a Dem (even their insurgents tend to be longtime politicians) but given that Trump and Carson are waaay ahead of all of the other candidates, West running for the Republican nomination wouldn't be crazy.

Michelle Malkin has written a column pointing out that Biden has a long history of to put it mildly, invading the personal space of females. Not sure if as she claims, the matter has penetrated the public's consciousness, but it is certainly the best avenue of attack if he does jump into the race.

Between Hillary and Trump, all I can do is make the old sinking boat joke.

Q: If Hillary and Trump were both on a sinking raft who would be saved?

A: The voters.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, Bev and Critch, I think the KY clerk wants to be a martyr. She thinks that by suffering "'like Jesus" (as if) she will somehow become important.

tryanmax said...

Bev, that's a very intriguing observation about the arrest of the KY clerk having possible consequences for liberal officeholders who similarly refuse to do their duties. I wonder how many politicians or pundits who have considered that?

Even though I recognize her as derelict in her duties, my initial reaction was that arresting her didn't seem to fit. Some sort of a recall or a judicial order forcing her to resign would make more sense. But if that's the route they're willing to go in KY, I just hope they start to apply it across the board.

tryanmax said...

FYI, I just saw that the NYTimes identifies the KY clerk as a Democrat. On that basis alone, there should be no Republicans rushing to defend her. Instead, they should be using her as a shield to defend themselves against accusations of bigotry.

tryanmax said...

And this may prove to be Ted Cruz's big foot in mouth (and down throat) moment. Cruz has now several times publicly spoken in defense of the KY clerk, but his defense is mushy and all over the place. It's a little bit of "gay marriage is Christian persecution" and a little bit of "but Obama breaks the law, too!"

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Arresting her does fit because she's been given a court order and refusing to carry it out is contempt and would lead to the collapse of the legal system. By the same token, any liberal who disobeys a court order also needs to be sent to jail for contempt.

Agreed on your point about her being a Democrat.

tryanmax said...

Andrew, that's right. I guess I let myself get confused by the "bad employee/conscientious objector" narratives the pundits are using to push the legal aspect aside. Regardless, there's a wealth of opportunism on all sides in response to this that I hope will backfire on all parties.
