I am entertaining guests this week, so I am strapped for time. Who knew that there was so much to see and do in NYC! Anyway, please feel free to freeform it today. I will pop in when I can.

Oh, a little bit of historical trivia: 212 years ago today, Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton had their famous duel in Weehawken, New Jersey. We all know what happened next. You can find Alexander Hamilton grave at Trinity Church at Broadway and Wall Street.

Threatening to kill a five year old on Facebook is not great for one's career prospects. Who knew?

Facebook user “Rodney Lee” published the comment at 11:50 p.m. last Thursday on LaNaydra Williams’ Facebook page. “We’ll see how much her life matters soon..” he wrote beneath a two-year-old photo of Williams’ daughter, India. “Better be careful leaving your info open where she can be found :) hold her close tonight, it’ll be the last time.”

Overland Park Police Chief Francis Donchez Jr. confirmed in a statement that the post was written by one of his officers. Multiple media outlets identified the commenter as Rodney Lee Wilson, but a department spokesperson declined to confirm the officer’s identity to The Huffington Post. (Both the Facebook accounts in question are no longer publicly accessible.)

This post on LaNaydra Williams’ Facebook page appears to threaten her young daughter.

The officer was fired, “effective immediately,” Donchez said, and a criminal investigation is underway.

Also, a Yale worker smashed a priceless stained glass window because it depicted slavery. He is fired and now looking at criminal charges. Utter folly.

Are liberals are going to start setting libraries and museums on fire?

The dishwasher, Corey Menafee, said he used a broomstick to knock the panel to the floor. He said he was tired of looking at the “racist, very degrading” image.

City police arrested Menafee, who now faces a felony charge. The university, meanwhile, has cut ties with him. (It was not officially clear Monday afternoon how exactly that happened.)

I've been reading CS Lewis' An Experiment in Criticism and found a passage in which he responds to the claim that literature should be more "realistic" instead of fantasy, which some claimed deceives people:

"Admitted fantasy is precisely the kind of literature that never deceives at all. Children are not deceived by fairy tales; they are often deceived by by school-stories. Adults are not deceived by science-fiction; they can be deceived by the stories in the women’s magazines. None of us are deceived by the Odyssey, the Kalevala, Beowulf, or Malory. The real danger lurks in sober-faced novels where all appears to be very probable but all is in fact contrived to put across some social or ethical or religious or anti-religious ‘comment on life’."

Trump's decision to do absolutely zero fundraising for the party in May has come back to bite his campaign —and the GOP in general.

November is shaping up to be a bloodbath.

Also, the platform of the GOP, a party that has as its nominee a thrice-divorced man who was on the cover of playboy and who has bragged about sleeping with married women, declares pornography to be a "public health crisis."

Kit, Platforms have become nothing more than ads for how out of touch your fringes are with reality.

Anthony, The left has always been about destroying and banning things they don't like - books, art, Jews.

BTW, We had a fantastic time at the car auction. It was the Mecum Auto Auction in Denver. It was pretty darn cool to see all the gorgeous cars... would love to own some. There were some surprises, like how cheap some of them were. Great crowd. Lots of money floating around.

If you haven't been to one of these and you like cars at all, it was fun to watch. I recommend going (for a few hours at least.) They should be near a big city near you at some point.

Oh, and this...

The hotel we stay at in Denver has an amazing restaurant. Normally, hotel restaurants are generic, but this place is amazing. It's possibly the best restaurant in the state. It's called "The Range" (LINK) and it's in the Renaissance Hotel. I highly recommend it.

Anyways, we ordered something with different styles of pork. One of the things that came with it was smoked bread. I've never seen bread smoked before and let me say it was amazing!

If you ever see that, give it a try!

Yum! :D

By the way, the Dallas Memorial service is amazing. And about 80% of the tweets are actually classy. Probably a record for Twitter.

Also, from HotAir: "Dallas #BlackLivesMatter protesters, counter-protesters, police face off…then pray for each other"

Also, credit where it's due: Obama is giving a mostly decent speech.

Allena, I've never heard of smoked bread before, which is why I mentioned it. It was really impressive.

Thanks Allena! It's too bad Bernie couldn't settle his primary with Hillary with a duel! LOL! What fun!

My final day at work will be the 29th of this month. 30 years 4 months here...that's a long time. I'm intending to go on some trips with the wife, drink some good whisky my boys bought me and maybe find a part time job with the Catholic School here...oh, a few rock and roll concerts would be nice.

Congratulations, Critch! I wish you and your wife the best! :)
