Of Hypocrites, Liars and Patriots

Some thoughts on a few things I've run across lately...

● Trump didn't cancel the sending of US M1-Abrams tanks to Lithuania. This started under Obama and Trump is continuing with it. They will be part of four battalions of troops based there to keep the Russians out. This will wildly disappoint the never-Trumps who desperately want Trump to be a Russian agent. Send them some flowers or something.

● Check out this photo:
This is meant to "celebrate diversity" by showing how different women can all be beautiful. Really? Ok. Allow me to respond. Men have long know that when it comes to beauty, variety is the spice of life. And study after study has shown that men as a group are more attracted to average women than they are to the anorexic-model-thing women's magazines assure us are the only model of beauty. In fact, it's only women who seem to think these stick-figure zombies are the ideal of beauty. What's more, take another look at that picture. Are they celebrating diversity or cloning? You tell me. Maybe it was meant as irony?

● If you want a totally not-self-aware statement, actress America Ferrer said this: "I love looking beautiful, but it's only a small piece of me." LOL! Uh, yeah. This bit of narcissism really isn't uncommon in Hollywood anymore, but it's still hard for average people to swallow. So Hollywood has invented the narcissism shield. If you are a bitch or flaunt your hotness, you just need to claim that you were bullied as a child. Do that an all is forgiven because once you've been blessed with the touch of bully-victimhood, you can be the biggest motherf*cker in the world and you are still the victim. And if you go too far, just add a sexual-abused codecil to the story of your childhood. Then you are untouchable.

As for America, for the record baby, you have a stupid name and you're mannish. Now you've been bullied. You can thank me later.

● The Patriots had their classy victory rally in Boston. Most wore their wife-beaters, except for those who went shirtless and poured booze all over their chests. Hope you brought your air guitars! Boston is a special place. I wonder if they let the "darkies" come to this rally?

● To show you how pathetic the left has become, the latest revolutionary/resistance tactic against Trump has been to say something "cutting" about him on twitter. Oooh, go girl! That's really, uh... worthless. Lenin must be spinning in his grave. Speaking of which, what happened to the Women's Rally? That kind of fizzled, didn't it?

● Finally a group of wounded veterans has put together an ad begging us not to kill Obamacare because without it, they wouldn't get treatment. Liars. If they are wounded in their military duties, they get care through the military, not Obamacare.

Oh no! Now it looks like they photoshopped the image to make Ashley Graham look thinner. LOL! Perfect. Just perfect. Diversity=fake sales pitch.

1. The Russians are manning their borders 'cause NATO has just gotten a little too close to the Russian borders. Of course this is after a entire summer of the Russians tootling their Navy around the North Sea trying to harass the EU'ers.

2. Yeah, model-bots run that diverse-o-meter all the way from A to B. I am surprised they didn't have to include transgendered she/male model. Ooooh, they gonna' hear from the Diversity Police about that one! As "Fashion Week" comes around this week/next week? in NYC, the models are everywhere running in herds not eating.

3. Sorry Ms Ferrara, just don't care.

4. Patriots...meh!

5. The Wymen's March. Oh, haven't you heard? There is going to be a National Women Won't Do Any Work Day sometime soon. They sent out a "save the date" tweet, but...uh, didn't give a date. But trust me, the world is going to completely collapes when women refuse to work...be warned!!! I will let you know the date when the Wymen tell us.

6. In all fairness, Obamacare is probably the only way Vets get treatment on demand. Obama never really bothered to work on the VA issues...

Okay, I am done.

Bev, The assumption has been that Trump would pull back all out troops and ignore anything Putin does to invade these countries. Apparently, that's not true.

The model thing is pathetic to me. They are clones who tell victimizing lies about their pasts -- bullied, eating disorders, sex abuse -- to fit in with the "in" issue and to deflect from the fact they are pushing the idea that judging women on their looks is vital.

They're going to stop working?!!! Don't they need jobs first? ;-)

Critch said...

Excellent points...if I might add,,without getting my head cut off...it seems to me that women are their own worst enemies. That 'anorexic-cloned look' isn't pretty at all.....I remember a secretary that worked for us in the early 1980s...she was slightly heavy, nothing special in a lot of ways, however she was about the sexiest thing I've ever seen....men wanted to talk to her and not the two blonds with fab bodies that worked with her. That inner-beauty thing is quite real. I have seen a lot of female supervisors put younger, attractive women on their s**t list, for no apparent reason other than jealousy...

I marvel at the utter self unawareness behind the "Trump is a dangerous fascist with thin skin who attacks people he doesn't like so let's intentionally piss him off because that'll show him" mentality.

BevfromNYC said...

Well, look at "Mad Men", the sexiest woman on the show was also the most "curvaceous". Christina Hendricks is no runway model type!

Oh, thought you'd wanna know - General Strike Women's March - DATE TBA 'cause we want to catch you men off guard, so's you won't see it coming!

Andrew - It isn't about just leaving your job, it's about refusing to do anything! If only they would all refuse to twitter, FB, and/or Instagram. Heck if we could just get the Kardashians to do that.
They have had strikes in EU countries for years like this and it DID effect change, but then those countries mostly have under 10M populations too.

OT: speaking of the Kardashians. Have you noticed since Trump has been elected, that the Kardashians are hardly heard from or about? Trump is sucking up all of the news oxygen, so they can't get a naked picture into circulation! If Trump does nothing else, that is THE BEST THING EVER!!! He may have effectively killed reality TV!

1. Interesting to note, though I don't have any coherent thoughts about it at the moment.

2. The cloned look on that cover is definitely eerie... O_o I've never been one for the anorexic look myself and I agree with Critch about how women are their own worst enemies in cases like that. I'm always surprised and a bit sad whenever I hear a lot of my female friends complain about being overweight when that's not even close to being true in a lot of cases.

3. Whether it's stuff like this or their political statements I'm in an odd state of numbness and irritation when it comes to celebrities mouthing off these days. Not sure how to describe it, really. I'm just wondering when the public's tolerance for celebrity idiocy and insults is going to reach a tipping point that gives Hollywood a serious wound that not even their weird accounting can ignore.

4. As a Georgia resident you can imagine how happy everyone down here, barring a few contrarians and yankee transplants, were. I don't follow sports enough to know what an Atlanta victory celebration would be like, but I imagine it would be more civilized than what you described in Boston! Then again it would have been the Falcons' first Super Bowl victory ever, and against the hated Patriots, had things not gone the way they did so who knows?

5. Heh, that reminds me of a term either Larry Correia or some of his Facebook fans coined when trolls would come to his page to snipe at him and got burned in the process: counting derp. It's like counting coup, except done by idiots who don't get away unscathed. Either way, as impulsive as he can be I imagine even Trump has better things to do than deal with every last troll trying to rile him up.

6. Exactly, they'd be getting care from the VA, although that's an entirely different can of dysfunctional worms. Either way I think pretty much the entire public knows this so I don't see it getting traction beyond the usual suspects.

1) Whether he knows Putin personally or loves him from afar is a question Trump answers differently depending on who is asking, but from where I stand Trump seems like a Putin fanboy rather than an agent.

On a related note, Trump drawing moral equivalence between Russia and the U.S. is a statement Republicans would have objected to once upon a time.

2) I confess I've never read a woman's magazine. The beauty of having a Kindle.

3) Has America Ferrera said something to earn a place on your crap list in another context? That was a bland statement devoid of claims of abuse or what have you.

4) Taking shots at enemies on Twitter? Sad! The National Prayer Breakfast is a much more appropriate forum for petty idiocy :) .

5) Obamacare will inevitably die. How different Trumpcare is remains to be seen.

An amusing analysis from a lawyer which gives the impression that the immigration order while lawful, was half assed.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/444726/donald-trump-cost-chaos-weakened-case-immigration-suspension

Yesterday’s oral argument in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was a bracing reminder of the high cost of chaos. The Trump administration has taken an extraordinarily strong legal case, backed by statutory law that gives the president the power to suspend or restrict the entry of “any aliens or of any class of aliens” when he finds that their entry would be “detrimental to the interests of the United States,” and turned it into a legal dumpster fire. He’s now reduced to hoping that the judges will cut through the fog of his own administration’s incompetence and bail out the order in spite of his words and his actions.

How did he hurt his case? Let us count the ways. First, recall his absurd campaign rhetoric about Muslim bans (and Rudy Giuliani’s follow-up that Trump tasked him with implementing the ban “legally”). Both raised concerns that he wasn’t so much making the legally required finding that entry from the seven problematic countries was detrimental to U.S. interests as he was using the Obama administration’s actions as a pretext to simply ban as many Muslims as he felt he lawfully could.

Next, by failing to lay out chapter and verse the threat from the seven identified countries, the administration was reduced to relying on an Obama-era designation that justified security measures short of a temporary travel ban. At a stunning moment in the oral argument, the court asked the DOJ lawyer arguing for the ban to provide a factual basis for the order beyond merely arguing that the Obama administration had singled out those countries. He couldn’t do so. There was no additional record evidence supporting the president’s finding.

The Trump administration should have issued specific and factually detailed findings demonstrating why the Obama administration’s lesser security measures were problematic enough to justify a short pause in entry. This would not be difficult (except, perhaps, for the case of Iraq, where the security climate has steadily improved). The identified countries either have been ripped to shreds by jihadist violence or are actual terror-exporting enemies of the United States. Courts (especially courts composed of potentially hostile and skeptical judges) are notoriously unimpressed with governmental findings that are largely unsupported by evidence in the record. Given the extraordinary level of jihadist violence, the crumbling or nonexistent governmental infrastructures in many of these countries, the escalating threat environment at home and abroad, and the known intentions and capacities of our terrorist enemies, it should be easy to provide a factual basis for a 90-day pause.

Third, the chaos and cruelty of the implementation undermined the legal argument. Is the situation so urgent and actionable that it should be applied to green-card holders, in spite of the multiple layers of vetting they’ve already endured? What about its application to translators or interpreters who’ve also not only been vetted but actually risked their lives alongside American soldiers? By taking one position, then contradicting itself days (or even hours) later, the administration again sent a signal to skeptical judges that it was operating less through true national-security findings and more out of discriminatory animus.

On the lighter side of the news, Democrats seem poised to make Keith Ellison chair of the DNC. He is a black Muslim who is currently a Bernie bro in terms of policy, but over a decade ago he was a Nation of Islam member who dismissed the fact that the organisation has a problem with anti-Semitism.

While he subsequently denounced the NoI and won office, Ellison has been an outspoken critic of Israel and is very much a part of the fringe left.

Far be it from me to take on a lawyer in his own field, but French's second point immediately reveals that he is either unfamiliar with the executive order as a whole (and thereby cribbing the now familiar arguments from elsewhere) or just ignoring everything apart from Sec. 3b.

I do agree that Gulianni is either an idiot or a backstabber in this event. Beyond that, I think there is ample evidence to show that the EO falls exceedingly short at even attempting a "Muslim ban."

Last point, Trump voters wanted the chaos. That's what disrupters bring. Anti-Trumpers left and right don't seem to grok this even yet. Standard attacks only galvanize him. Trump didn't win by conventional means and he won't be defeated by conventional means. Woe to the nation.

It will blow out by mid-afternoon anyway.

Critch, I think the anorexic look fits with the ethos of the elitist fashion industry. The fashion industry is run by some truly ugly people, old hags and gay men, who seem to revel in telling themselves how they are "the beautiful people" and I think they intentionally pick misshapen women because few women can have that look.

AndrewPrice said...

Daniel,

In my whole life, I've only ever met a handful of males who like that look and they weren't really people women wanted to date.

Beyond that, women seem to be awful to each other. Female bosses often are brutal to female employees. The "mean girls" cliche is rather common in schools. A lot of the women I know judge other women on almost everything. It's pretty nasty. And ironically, all that nastiness makes the nasty one unhappy. So it's ultimately self-defeating.

You know, I really laugh when I see these attacks. They really seem to think that going on twitter or Facebook and posting some lame comment about Trump somehow changes the world. Retards.

That, by the way, is why the women's march has died. They don't have a clue what it takes to actually effect change. All they know is "raising awareness," which is loser speak for "can't really do anything about it and want to kid myself that I can."

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony,

On a related note, Trump drawing moral equivalence between Russia and the U.S. is a statement Republicans would have objected to once upon a time.

True. But I think times have changed. With the left having gone apeshit crazy and the anti-Trumps whining about everything real and imagined, I don't think anyone else feels like criticizing Trump for anything is really a good thing lest they feed the trolls.

On Ferrarra, nope. She just happened to issue a narcissistic statement that day and she became a stand in for all the rest of them. It's become a pattern. And in regard that pattern, I've long stopped believing any claims of abuse, sexual harassment, bullying, overcoming eating disorders, body shaming, etc. These are all things celebrities now use cynically to clean up their images.

AndrewPrice said...

Let me point out first, that no one in the media is willing to say the first part of this. They keep claiming Trump violated the law etc. etc. and the judge is the victim. If the case is that strong (and it is), the judge is the one abusing the system by granting the stay.

On the second part, what he says about the dumpster fire is ignorant of how courts work. The job of courts is to implement the law regardless of how retarded a client/attorney acts.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, There is a huge disconnect right now between the voters and the elite. The elite are on the wrong side of power for the first time ever and they are freaking out. That's why they keep pointing at every... single... thing... Trump... does, and screaming "SEEE!!! WE TOLD YOU!!!" And the public is shrugging their shoulders because this is what the public wanted and the cries of the elitists only reveal that Trump has found the target.

Anthony said...

Andrew,

Very few people's job descriptions give them official license to act or not act based on their personal feelings, but that doesn't mean it doesn't routinely happen as a matter of practice.

Also, Trump is now saying he wanted to delay the travel ban by a month, but law enforcement officials convinced him otherwise. The buck stops somewhere over there!

http://fox6now.com/2017/02/08/president-trump-i-wanted-month-delay-before-travel-ban-was-told-no/

President Donald Trump — even as he blasted lawyers contesting his immigration executive order — detailed for the first time Wednesday, February 8th his own hesitations about the controversial plan before it was signed.
President Trump, speaking to law enforcement officials in Washington, said he argued before the order was finalized for giving travelers a month’s notice before cutting off entry to the US.
But he said he was overruled by law enforcement officials, who he didn’t name, alleging the delay could prompt a flood of dangerous terrorists into the country — an explanation that failed to account for the lengthy process of obtaining a US visa or applying for refugee status.
----------
Their claim that such a move would encourage waves of immigration doesn’t match the realities of obtaining a US visa, which can take months and wouldn’t allow such a rush of migrants. Procedures already in place require the citizens of the seven countries on the administration’s list to undergo background checks and intelligence reviews before obtaining permission to enter the US.
Refugees must also undergo lengthy vetting before being allowed to enter the US for resettlement.

Anthony said...

I thought Warren's reading of the Coretta Scott King letter was a cynical but clever move.

Warren is (was?) a liberal darling who backed Hillary over Bernie so she probably will face a primary challenge from the left. Being a high profile enemy of Trump is all that can save her.

AndrewPrice said...

Looking at Obama's personality, I think we can expect the following:

1. From time to time, Obama will take easy shots -- things where there is a general consensus on the left and in the media that there is some "outrage" and where there is no solution for him to back. In other words, when his comments can be had risk free. He will agree that there is an outrage and call those who disagree stupid and offer some advice like "it's time to do the right thing."

2. He will interfere in Democratic politics by trying to be a Dali Lama type figure. Basically, he will offer platitudes that sound like he's taking sides but don't really take sides. In the end, he will only confuse things. I doubt he endorses anyone unless they are unopposed and the polls show they will win.

3. He's about to appear at every celebrity event you can imagine.

Critch, get some more dingbats in there you morons...

Anthony, I do wish Trump would show better judgment with his tweets and stop his constant attacks and defenses. I don't think those help. But overall, I ignore those as him just being a pissy, insecure bastard. That doesn't change my opinion about his policies so far.

Something else funny that the screaming idiots on the left are up to: equating Trump with every dystopian novel ever written. Which only shows that they haven't read any of them.

AndrewPrice said...

More Trump fun today. Prepare for cognitive dissonance. Don't forget the premise:

(1) Trump is a Putin agent who does what Putin wants.
(2) Trump is unprepared and shoots from the hip.

The article says...

Trump and Putin spoke. During the conversation, Putin suggested extending that New START treaty negotiated by Obama. Trump "paused to ask his staff what this was" because he's stupid and unprepared. Trump then told Putin that treaty was a bad deal for the US and said the US wanted to end it... which would spark a nuclear arms race and eventually nuclear war. This is the second time Trump has been stupid about this treaty. When he talked about it during the campaign, he stupidly called it START UP in a debate. Usually, Presidents get written and oral briefings before phone calls with foreign leaders. Trump didn't this time. Which is to say, the three people who shared their notes with Reuters didn't know if he did or didn't, but we know he didn't because he's Trump.

All of this antiTrumpy goodness comes from notes from three people... three people!! So it must be true.

Note that the story flips back and forth between Trump not knowing what it is and knowing but getting the name wrong. Note that Trump is Putin's puppet, but refuses to extend a Treaty Putin wants. Note the assertion that Trump wasn't briefed, along with the admission they didn't know.

BTW, Heritage Foundation and Mitt Romney opposed it. So Trump calling it bad is hardly off the reservation.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, I've seen some of those discussions. There was an argument about people who said Trump was Big Brother and others who argued that understated it. LOL!

That sounds about right, Andrew, right down to what I've heard about female bosses from a few female friends. I'd say it's funny that actual men's opinions on beauty don't get much exposure, but knowing how the media operates the answer to that is obvious. On some of the other things I've had a feeling that Manchin might switch parties myself, especially given how the Democrats are running farther left with things like the Ellison appointment. I also agree that a lot of the Trump panic is just turning into noise for the public at this point. To think we've got 4-8 more years of this, combined with increased celebrity whining...

Like a lot of politicians and bureaucrats Flynn has a serious problem with short term memory loss.

I don't think it will be a problem. Trump and Putin have been open about their mutual admiration.

http://dailycaller.com/2017/02/10/report-michael-flynn-discussed-sanctions-with-russian-ambassador-despite-denials/

That poses a problem for the Trump administration because it has denied that Flynn, a retired lieutenant general, discussed sanctions with Sergey Kislyak, the Kremlin’s top diplomat to the U.S.

According to The Post, nine current and former U.S. officials said that Flynn had several discussions with Kislyak on Dec. 29, the same day that the Obama administration penalized Russia for waging cyber attacks against Democrats during the presidential campaign.

On Wednesday, Flynn twice denied to The Post that he discussed sanctions with Kislyak. But on Thursday, he backtracked, telling The Post through a spokesperson that “that while he had no recollection of discussing sanctions, he couldn’t be certain that the topic never came up.”

Trump has vowed to appeal his latest court loss. I hope his lawyers have better luck in the future, at least on this issue. Of course, luck favors the prepared...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/02/09/defiant-trump-tweets-see-in-court-after-ruling-again-blocks-immigration-order.html

A defiant President Donald Trump tweeted “SEE YOU IN COURT” after a San Francisco federal appeals court Thursday upheld the suspension of his controversial immigration order.

He also warned the security of the nation was at stake and said he expected to easily win the case.

Top presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway told Martha MacCallum on “The First 100 Days” that she could not specify if Trump meant he would take it to the Supreme Court, but there were “different options” open to the White House.

She added that the ruling “does not affect the merits at all.”

The panel of three judges on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously refused to reinstate the order after a federal judge had issued a halt to it last week.

But the Justice Department said it is "reviewing the decision and considering its options.” Trump later tweeted: "SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!"

I just read a great twitter-rant on the consequence of extending American due process to the world.

There must be benefits to citizenship or else it's goodbye nation; a people must have causes to love their country, or they won't.

The idea that anyone other than Americans and those aliens under our plenary jurisdiction are entitled to due process is monstrous.

Due process is a benefit of citizenship (and placing oneself under our plenary jurisdiction). Otherwise we need to go to war the world over.

Literally, today, billions of people are deprived of American due process. If they're entitled to it, we have a national duty to fix that.

The idea is so ridiculous on its face, it's something only lawyers could take seriously.
