It is the "dog days of summer"* and it is just too hot to think. Since I am sure there must be something you may want to discuss, the floor is open.
But speaking of heat, the heat is really on Hillary this week now that the number of classified emails found in the 30,000 turned over has grown for 4 to over 300 emails. You know the ones she swore she never sent or received. With the added news that there have been an additional 17,000 "found" emails at the State Department. [This is beginning to look like those missing Whitewater files from the Rose Law Firm that suddenly appeared in the dining room at the White House.] In addition to the classified emails, there are rumors that there may be second backup hard drive floating around somewhere.
Ironically, August does not seem to be a very good month for the Clintons. For those too young to remember, on August 17, 1998 Bill Clinton took to the airwaves to admit that he did in fact have an inappropriate relationship with Monica Lewinsky, but it was "a private matter". Explaining why he had lied, he said he did it to protect his wife and daughter and himself from "the embarrassment of his own conduct." Looks like Hillary, who help craft his speech in August 1998, will soon have to "craft" her own speech.
Oh, yeah, and as if Hillary couldn't make things worse for herself, the following is a cut from her speech at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding event this weekend...
Anyway, floor is open...
*Extra point if you know the derivation of the "dog days of summer"

Hillary's deleted emails joke?
Better than her selfies.
It has to do with the star Sirius, the Dog Star, which is prominent in the sky at this time of year.
Bev.....Just saw interesting tidbit. Sen. Grassley just wrote Hillary!'s lawyer to ask him when and why he got his security clearance in order to handle the thumb drive that contains classified emails.
As the screw slowly turns.....or more like The Pit and the Pendulum.
Bob
I've heard Hillary's "joke" about a dozen times now. Talk about tone-deaf! Not that Snapchat is inherently shady, but in the context Hillary is talking about it, she's raising its potential for shadiness.
But, IMO, worse than that, it doesn't sound like she or her staff have any idea what Snapchat is. For one, you don't "launch" a Snapchat. It's not a page or a blog. And there's no way anyone "might have seen" that she has a Snapchat unless they're already a contact in her phone. There's no public profile on Snapchat. Just the way she pauses before saying "Sss-Nap-Cha-Ta" sounds like she's thinking "Am I saying this right? What is this thing?"
Tryanmax - It just boggles my mind that she and her speechwriters thought that would be amusing. She really isn't getting it. It would be like if Bill made a joke "Yeah, you know me and interns!" She needs to get out more.
Btw, thanks for explaining "Snapchat". The newfangled things these youngin's are into today...well, in MY day...[you know the rest]
Bob - That's an interesting question about the security clearance. But I would imagine anyone who works with the Clintons is above such things. Like their computer scrubbing company...did they have security clearance to be handling classified information?
Oh, wait, Snapchat means more selfies!
NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
DING...DING...DING!!! We have a winnah, folks! Critch is correct. You will be able to redeem your prize on Snapchat...oops...it's gone! ;-)
Yes, Kit...one more time with Hillary's Snapchat/deleted e-mail "joke".
Here's the thing about classified information. It is marked very plainly on the cover that it is classified, even the cover is classified. Anyone who removes the cover of a classified document has committed a felony by altering it. I knew a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force who went to Leavenworth for that. This is a terrible thing, she and her staff committed a felony. Not that I care for him, but look how they went after General Petraus over his dalliance with a subordinate and him letting her have classified information.
Critch - You know, I get the classified email felony thing. I am more interested in the possibility of the co-mingling of funds/fundraising at the Clinton Foundation in conjunction with State Department business. Even more interested in how Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills may have used privileged maybe even classified information to help collect hundreds of millions of dollars. The Government/Foundation/Campaign connection could be even more damning than the "classified e-mail" investigation.
My favorite is the one with Kim and Kanye...does she really think that will win her votes? If so, she should go to Times Square and pay 20 bucks to have her photo taken with the painted/naked/topless women roaming around. Judging from the cluelessness of her "email" joke, maybe she would probably end up sending Bill.
Bev, I still think that Clinton Foundation is just a front for her campaign,,she hasn't got a charitable bone in her body. Her daughter makes a ton of money from that foundation, and so do their cronies...it's a sham.
Not much to add. Hillary is as boring to talk about as she is to listen to.
Hillary's servers were kept in a bathroom closet, which I suspect is the reason for her crappy ideas...
"Hillary's servers were kept in a bathroom closet, which I suspect is the reason for her crappy ideas…"
Ba-dum-tis!
Hillary is a horrible candidate: take 32. The Black Lives Matters guys are insane and nothing good can come of talking to them so its bizarre that she choose to meet them and even more bizarre that she was pissed off by their insanity.
What she said won't matter because BLM has already marginalized itself but if one is that easy to piss off one won't go far in debates unless one's name is Trump.

“If you don’t tell black people what we need to do, then we won’t tell you all what you need to do,” said the activist. Hillary’s handlers can be heard trying to drag the former Secretary of State away from the discussion.
“This is, and has always been, a white problem of violence. There’s not much that we can do to stop the violence against us, “ he added.
Clinton responded by saying, “Respectfully, if that is your position then I will talk only to white people about how we are going to deal with the very real problems."
Am I the only one wandering if Bill Clinton's name will come up in the Ashley Madison data dump?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/experts-ashley-madison-hack-data-is-real_55d40edbe4b0ab468d9ef792
The user data pillaged from affair website Ashley Madison and dumped onto the Internet appears to be the real deal, independent security experts said Wednesday. The website reportedly has as many as 37 million users, and gigabytes of names, addresses, credit card numbers and emails allegedly tied to the site were leaked onto the so-called "dark web" late Tuesday night.
Howdy folks! Sorry there's no article today. I've been awash in going back to school stuff, which started this week. Haven't had time to do anything except put out child-sized fires.
Also, Trump continues to amaze. My hope that some Republican governor was going to win in 2016 seems more and more unrealistic.
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/trump-to-oreilly-the-14th-amendment-wont-hold-up-in-court/
Bill O’Reilly interview Donald Trump tonight, where he put particular focus on Trump’s newest idea for immigration by eliminating birthright citizenship. O’Reilly said that even though he was intrigued by his call to curb illegal immigration, but challenged him by saying that his ideas for mass deportations can’t happen under the 14th Amendment.
------------
Trump retorted that he doesn’t think they have American citizenship, and that there are many lawyers that agree with him. When asked about whether he would pursue a constitutional amendment, Trump dismissed the idea, saying that it would take too long and he would prefer somehow testing to see whether anchor babies were truly American citizens.
Bev, I'll do the article tonight. :)
Sounds good Andrew! 8-/D
Anthony - I wouldn't get too worked up about the polling data right now and who is leading. At this point it is only the truly partisan who are responding to these snap polls. When it really starts to count is starting in January. By then, Hillary will flame out and I think Trump will too. And the Republican field will begin to narrow. Right now there are so many candidates, the most bombastic of the bunch is taking focus. it was the same in 2008. Maybe no one remembers the10+ Dems who were in the field about this time including Al Sharpton.
Oh, and Anthony - It wouldn't surprise me at all if Bill's name showed up on the Ashley Madison list. However, I doubt that Bill needs to take to internet trolling to find a sugar-baby. He has his good friend Jeffrey Epstein the pedophile to do all that for him for free anyway...
I watched a TED talk a couple weeks ago about lying. You are all lied to by everyone multiple times per day, by the way.
Anyhoo, she mentioned that one signal is when the speaker switches from a contraction to the original words: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."
Last Saturday, Hillary stated, "I did not send classified emails..."
Another sign is usually the person will smile while lying to you because they know they are getting away with the lie. She is lying and everybody knows it. The FBI is trying to prove it and Obama gains no personal benefit from protecting her. If I remember right I think he told her from the beginning not to have a personal server.
Bill is about to become an unencumbered man. I urge all of you with young single daughters age 10-30 to hide them or teach them martial arts.
I urge all of you with young single daughters age 10-30 to hide them
Wait a minute... are you saying Bill has age limits? That is news!
I think that the old excuse "I never said that" or "That's not what I said" is becoming obsolete. I think the Clinton style word-parse/hair splitting/legalese isn't working anymore and they just don't know what to do. And even the "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" excuse isn't working.
Oh, come on. I am sure even Bill had his age limit...except there is Jeffrey Epstein who didn't...so, yep, hide your daughters.
Or Jared from Subway apparently. :(
Bev, I will agree that Bill does have limits! He's never run across them, but they must be there somewhere.
Andrew, I think you mean 'Jared disavowed by Subway.' Oh, man...
There is an age limit because by age 30 nearly all women will be savvy enough not to fall for his "charms". He needs young, naïve girls.
I'm noticing a push by the left to blame ISIS on George Bush, they've even trotted out a general to back up their argument...except there are other generals who believe that bush was pressured by a Democratic congress to get out of Iraq and Obama made sure it happened...there's a reason we stayed in Germany, Japan and Korea..
A war is started and Republicans fix it. Now, ever since Vietnam, Democrats do their best to bugger up that victory.
