I don't know about you, but I am not sure I am going to make it through the next 20 days with my full sanity intact.
[Okay, full disclosure, I may not have actually started out with "my full sanity"]
But seriously, this election cycle is driving me insane.
And I know that I am not alone in this. Everyone is really anxious and nervous and stressed and showing signs of the strain.
So, let's take a few minutes to relax, take a few deep breaths, and then take a few more. [Being careful not to hyperventilate] If that isn't working, find the nearest safe room filled with kittens, puppies, balloons, and coloring books, or anything that can take your mind off current events.
Once you are all relaxed and calm, feel free to post your feelings about this election cycle below in a calm and relaxed manner. Just get it out of your system.
Now that you are all relaxed and calm, perhaps this is a good time to tell you that the final debate is tomorrow.

And because you probably want to know exactly how much time we have left right down to the second until the 2016 Presidential Election is over, or as it is beginning to feel like...Countdown to Looking Glass***:

Bev, This election has been particularly harsh on people. The left has lost their mind and are spewing crap and lies like desperate drug addicts trying to claim they aren't addicts. The fringe right is in arm-chair revolution mode. The center right is in full cowardice.
It's enough to make the world unbearable. But the world goes on.
As for the reference, wasn't that a movie about a nuclear war in the 1980s?
Andrew, when you put it that way, Trump sounds like the man in the middle.
On that note, I haven't eaten lunch in the break room since last month. No TV news. None at work. None at home. No newspapers. 'Been monking it out since just after the conventions in early August. And what can I say? Ignorance is bliss!
Rustbelt...I have done that as much as possible...the problem is that it just isn't possible. I do read the funny papers in the NY Daily News. That's the NYDN's only redeeming value.
Andrew - DING DING DING! Yes, "Countdown to Looking Glass" in 1984 (hmmmm?) was a "dramatic" portrayal of what a real nuclear attack would look like including very real looking/sounding TV news reports. Funny story - I was on the road in those days and we had a day off in Shreveport, Louisiana, so most of the cast went to the race track for the day. When they came back, a few guys turned on that movie and started screaming down the hotel hallway "OH MY GOD, WHAT HAS REAGAN DONE??" That's how real it looked. It took us 30 minutes to calm them down...
I can't believe all of these people here think a Douche is better than a Turd Sandwich...
Oh, just recently finished both Jim Butcher's Storm Front on audiobook (so-so book) and Larry Correia's Sons of the Black Sword (freakin' awesome).
Correia is also author of Monster Hunter International.
I'm now reading the first book of Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series. I'll tell everyone how it goes.
Excellent book choices, Kit! The Dresden Files is one of my favorite series and Son of the Black Sword was definitely all kinds of awesome. Speaking of Correia I actually just finished the series that he did with Mike Kupari. It didn't quite grab me in the way that Monster Hunter International and the Grimnoir Chronicles did but it was still worth are read. It actually gave me an idea of what a world similar to Metal Gear Solid might look like I'd it was done by conservative/libertarian writers.
I also found a good series through one of his Book Bombs: Brian Niemeier's Soul Cycle books, Nethereal and Souldancer. They're definitely a bit strange with a distinct anime flair to it but it's got some great characters and an awesome setting.
Definitely let us know the Codex Alera goes, Kit. I've been meaning to read them and get started on The Aeronaut's Windlass as well but you know how time and money constraints go.

In a move sure to shake the Clinton campaign to its core, ump is bringing Obama's half brother Malik to the debate.
Playing to the fringe got Trump where he is so he might as well keep dancing to their tune, even if it doesn't put him in a position to win.
The move makes sense if the rumors about a planned Trump tv network are true are true.

"Something is going on with Hilary that I don't like," he said. "Donald on the other hand, he speaks his mind and is straight forward. And remember, the Republican Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln - who freed slaves and freed the black man."
A Clinton campaign bus was caught illegally dumping raw sewage in a small town. Such behavior is of course completely out of character for the Clinton campaign.

A DNC spokesperson called the unusual incident "an honest mistake."
"This was an honest mistake and we apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm we may have caused," the spokesperson said in an emailed statement. "We were unaware of any possible violations and have already taken corrective action with the charter bus company to prevent this from happening again. Furthermore, the DNC will work with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, as well as local and state officials to determine the best course of corrective action."
The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. in front of the O'Reilly Auto Parts store at 525 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville.
-----
The bus kicked off a nationwide tour Tuesday with stops in Lawrenceville, Atlanta and Macon.
"Georgia has become increasingly competitive for Democrats this election cycle," a press release announcing the tour said, "and the Democratic Party is campaigning in Georgia to provide additional support for Hillary Clinton and to promote Democrats up and down the ballot."
You'd think with both candidates being so completely awful as human beings, the best way to decide between them would be to consider their policies. But that was a pipe-dream before.
Yeah, Tryanmax, and if only there had been a way to debate those "policies" in an open forum for the public to watch. Sadly, all we get are the salacious accusations and ignoring any REAL issues. Hey, I'd even go for one of those 'The 1980s Are Calling, They Want Their Foreign Policy Back' over what we've got right now. At least that was on a real topic about real "foreign policy".
"Mr. Trump, you made some remarks that caused genteel ladies to retire to their fainting couches. Is that the temperament of someone who can engage hostile world leaders and command a military?"
I remember when Trump's rivals in the primaries called for a focus on the issues rather than Trump's antics. Oh how times have changed.
Trump needs to ignore most of this crap. Is he a handsy-pig? Most likely yes. Would I rather have that than an ethically challenged and morally corrupt fascist? Yes, yes I would.
Awwww, my cable is out...can't watch the debate tonight. I think a higher power has intervened on my behalf for which I truly grateful. No really,
