More liberals...

This was one of those weekends where liberals kept making fools of themselves. Here is some of the stupidity.

● One of the latest liberal talking points is that Trump is being hypocritical by calling for states’ rights in the transgender bathroom issue, but arguing that marijuana needs to be controlled at the federal level. Keep in mind that hypocrisy means nothing to the left, so arguing that someone else is wrong for being hypocritical is... well, hypocritical.

More to the point though, this really shows that liberals are incapable of using rational judgment. Why would one of these be federal and the other state regulated? Well, consider this. Marijuana is bought, sold and shipped across state lines. When Colorado legalized, half the stuff sold here went to people who drove it to other states. It's effects cross state borders. When a tranny enters a bathroom, they don’t suddenly materialize in bathrooms in other states. That’s the obvious difference. Even an idiot can see that. But idiot > liberal.

● When the issue of the White House Correspondent’s Dinner (WHCD) first came up, several media groups said they wouldn’t participate. Liberals said, “Yeah, boycott! Show that evil Trump that you won’t stand him!” Then Trump said he wasn’t going to attend because he's boycotting the biased media. The left immediately attacked: “What a loser for Trump not to show up! It affects free speech when he doesn't show up!” See a problem with this? Liberals don't.

● I am amazed how many liberal sites have devolved to just posting comments by random people on Twitter that slam Trump. “Wait til u see this cutting comment posted by some guy!” Oh, burrrrrrrn. As I said, Marx and Lenin must be spinning in their graves. “All we need is love!” “Love Trumps hate!” Good luck with that.

● So the Democrats chose Tom Perez as the new DNC Chairman. I guess he had the right skin tone. Anyways, he promised to “rebuild at all levels from ‘school board to the Senate’ and reach out to chunks of rural America left feeling forgotten in the 2016 election.” Interesting, since the Democrats don’t admit they left anyone behind in rural-f*ckistan... damn white people STFU!! Sorry, I was channeling the Democratic Party there for a moment.

Anyways, Perez is an Obama insider, which shows that Bernie’s people will not win control over the Party. It also shows that Hillary isn’t calling the shots anymore. Either way though, Perez steps into an impossible job. How do you motivate a party motivated only by personal hate while simultaneously attracting the people you are hating? Good luck.

I missed the Oscars (I always do) but it sounds like it showed off liberals' penchant for disorganized spite.

1) Almost nobody cares about state's rights except as it impacts whatever issue(s) they do care about.

Trump has never been a proponent of state's rights (there are a few out there, though not many) or limited government, so it doesn't make much sense to accuse him of hypocrisy on the subject.

On a related note, the Republican party has largely abandoned the issue in large part because they have won power at a federal level (limitations on power are a lot less attractive when you are the guy holding it).

2. Trump skipping the WHCD is fine and good. Right now his feud with those who aren't syncophants (nods towards Breitbart) is harmless. There is a lot of time for that to change and I expect it will, though I don't think for a second he will go nearly as far as his hero Putin.

3. If liberal sites were just covering 'clever' tweets, the Trump White House wouldn't be trying so hard to find and plug leaks.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/02/26/spicer-checks-wh-staffers-phones-for-leaks-vows-more-searches-coming.html

One official told Fox that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer called nearly two dozen staffers into his office and demanded the staffers’ cell phones in order to check for evidence of leaks. Spicer warned that the initial search would be “recess” compared to what awaits staffers in round two of the investigation, if the leaker – or leakers – aren’t discovered.
------------

President Trump and his top advisers have grown increasingly frustrated as unnamed and anonymous sources continue to populate a deluge of negative press. Politico reported that the mood inside the communications department has grown tense, with a Spicer deputy being driven to tears during a recent meeting. Spicer and the deputy denied the report.

4. The state of the opposition party is the least important part of a wave election. The usual pattern is the incumbent party makes mistakes, fails to fix things they promised to fix and corruption scandals happen. Of course party on the outs promises to fix all problems (talking terrorism out of existence, winning the war on terror in 30 days, what have you), make no mistakes and avoid corruption. The public gradually hands them the power they need to govern (majority in both chambers and later the presidency) then the beautiful cycle begins anew.

The morons in Hollywood want to tell us how to do things and they can't even run the Oscars right....along with flubbing the best picture announcement they also listed a living producer as deceased and some of the backdrops came crashing down...idiots...

AndrewPrice said...

Critch, Not only that, but ratings were down, and the "tourist" they brought in to celebrate their diversity turned out to be a convicted rapist. Idiots.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, I think the state of the democrats does matter. The reason is they created the wave by turning against the white working/middle classes. Not only have they become the party of minorities and elitist whites, but they have allowed incredible disdain, condescension and hatred to be aimed these white groups. The result has been a steady wave starting at the state level and drifting federally where whites have turned against the Democrats -- rather than the GOP winning them.

Picking Perez suggests the Democrats intend to keep on truckin' with their bad plan.

I was listening to Schumer et al rail about Trump, then their supporters in the media started jabbering...and it hit me...Harry Truman once told someone..."Don't get in a fight with people who buy ink by the trainload." That was then, this is now..Trump can go directly to the American people with Twitter, FB etc...we don't have to have CBS, the New York Times etc...it's killing them; in so many wonderful, beautiful ways...BTW, we're having red beans and rice for supper, along with angel food cake....and tomorrow Lent descends on us....

Andrew, the Democrats are committed to the belief that demographics are on their side and they just need to wait until there aren't enough white people to vote against them. I think they believed that time was already.

Hey All! Is anyone watching the SOTU tonight? I think I am going to suck it up and try. It ought to be pretty entertaining with the Dems with their "silent protest" and both sides are bring opposing guests - Dems are bringing illegal immigrants and Trump is bringing families of people who have been murdered by illegal immigrants. Only thing that will be missing will be clowns, balloons, and a man-eating panda.

Anthony said...

Andrew,

Don't get me wrong, the state of the Dems matters, but its the least important factor. After enough time passes its rosy, easy promises vs reality.

Just read the Dems are planning a big protest for the SOTU. Hopefully they refrain from trying to disrupt the speech.

BevfromNYC said...

I am glad I didn't make "American" a drinking game word. Not enough vodka in the world to cover his speech...kinda' the same as making "I" and "me" during any of Obama's speeches. Just sayin'

BevfromNYC said...

Good speech. Unfortunately no clowns, balloons, or otherwise shenanigans.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, I think the Dem's worst fear is that Trump morphs into something more presidential and disproves the whole boogeyman-ideology of theirs.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, I agree.

tryanmax, I think that is the plan. Unfortunately for them, their numbers don't work. They are projecting straight lines in demographics where straight lines never happen. And all the evidence so far says the lines have collapsed.

Critch said...

Amazing, I'm hearing far lefties talking about how good Trump's speech was...I think the transformation happened last night and the Dims forgot to be there..

AndrewPrice said...

Critch, How embarrassing for the Democrats. Polls are showing upwards of 70% of people approved of the speech, including over 50% of Democrats. The must be beside themselves today wondering how their only plan (that Trump implodes) could suddenly look so wrong. Ha ha.

BevfromNYC said...

Nancy and the Congressional Dims are just doubling down. And poor Stephen Colbert wasn't expecting Trump to not be so cray-cray andd so "Presidential". Now they're all more confused than ever.

tryanmax said...

Andrew, et al. I heard a report this morning about "asylum seekers" fleeing to Canada to escape US deportation. Apparently, the welcome is wearing thin already to the north, but of course, this is the fault of Trump's evilness. I'm not doing justice to the verbal gymnastics--there's a limit to how much I can willingly torture language. Suffice it to say, it underscores the demographic miscalculation by the Democrats.

tryanmax said...

Bev, the media is frozen like deer in headlights. Trump gave them no opening to attack, at least, not in any way that would be consistent with how they've unloaded on him previously. "Run of the mill" would be a compliment at this point.

The screeching on Twitter is delicious! Anti-Trumpers see their de facto leaders in the media as imploding because they aren't savaging Trump's speech over...what exactly? The media already lost the right and independents. Now they're at risk of losing the left if they can't keep up the attack. Or worse, they risk being the victims of the monsters they've created.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, When you spend all your time painting someone as a monster and then they don't act like a monster, you run the risk of appearing to be the bad guy. That was always the trap here. They assumed Trump would also be "wild ass crazy." But his actions have suggested that he's trying to calm it all down bit by bit and they missed that. Now they seem to be fools.

First, you have the Oscars which were a clusterf*ck and heavily politicized... yet, Trump ignored them against Hollywood's universal claim that they could bait him to respond.

Now you have guys like Schumer attacking Trump's speech as out of touch with reality before he even heard it and then the speech turns out to be calm and very agreeable to most people.

The left has tripped themselves up.

Even worse, their drones want blood, so they really have no way to shift to more calm rhetoric along with Trump, which is bad for them.

Anthony said...

Presidents who have recently won wave elections usually call for the opposition to work with them, but Trump's seems to be unusually effective.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, I think he's the first "non-ideological" President we've had in the sense of being willing to work with anyone to fix anything. That's hard to resist if you think he will genuinely work with you.

And the Dems are having major issues with their own optics. When the photos of Debbie Wasserwhatever and Keith Ellison and others sitting stone-faced when Trump introduce Navy Seal Ryan Owens' wife to a 5 minute ovation and tears from her, and then the media called her a "prop", well, the 2018 opposition campaign ads just wrote themselves.

BevfromNYC said...

This tweet from Matt Walsh says it all about this insane disconnect to the Dems optics:

"Judging by their lack of applause, so far Democrats have come out in favor of drug addiction, corruption, and unemployment."
