Hillary's Freefall Continues

It looks like Rick Perry is finished. He’s stopped paying staff. But this article is about the freefall Hillary is experiencing. Consider these problems Hillary has encountered...

● Freefall in the polls. Hillary has gone from widely respected and strongly supported in the polls to hardly respected and bleeding support. At this point in the political cycle, the Democrats are usually about 10-20% ahead of all the GOP challengers, but Hillary is actually losing to a couple, especially in battleground states.

● Infidelity. While Hillary has made herself sound like the only viable and the truly inevitable candidate, the left has never embraced her. Bernie Sanders is drawing massive crowds, while Hillary is struggling to fill even small venues. The leftist media is flirting with Joe Biden... fricken Joe Biden! Elitist leftists have been trying to convince the CEO of Starbucks to run. As an aside, the fact that BlackLivesMatter attack Sanders and O’Malley, but ignore Hillary suggest that they don’t see her as relevant either.

● Union Non-Support. Yesterday, a 185,000 member nurses union endorsed Bernie Sanders. Back when Hillary suddenly scored a very earl endorsement from one of the nation’s biggest teacher’s unions, the rank and file revolted because it reeked of an inside deal.

● Obamazuma’s Revenge. It sounds like Obama has decided to drive a knife into his biggest enemy... Hillary. Indeed, with amazing timing, the FBI has now decided to investigate Hillary’s email issue, an issue that has been known for years, for possible criminal violations. Obama wouldn’t be doing this unless he either (1) planned to issue a total exoneration of Hillary to clear her name or (2) he planned to destroy her. Obama doesn’t do exonerations.

● Trump Blowback. Hillary has waded into the Trump mud to defend Megyn Kelly. The reason she did so is that the media’s obsession with Trump has drown out her campaign, like yesterday when her college play was all but ignored by the media as they continued Bloodgate.

What’s more, the one thing that has kept Hillary afloat up to now has been the GOP fringe. Every time they squawk off something racist or just plane stupid, Hillary has been able to sound like a fairly competent leftist politician by attacking them. But lately, the fringe has gone silent as everyone watches Trump spew his clownish idiotology. The problem for Hillary is that nothing Trump says is being taken seriously as a GOP position, so when she counters him, she sounds like a moron who is stooping to take on a comedian. At the same time, her attempts to attack Bush and Rubio have fallen on deaf ears because Trump is the weirdo du jour.

● Always Playing Catchup. Hillary’s release of a $350 billion not-affordable college affordability plan was supposed to excite young people, except that every other Democratic candidate has already issued their own plans. This is a common theme for Hillary. She never adopts a position (gay marriage, minimum wage, etc.) until it has become widely accepted on the left. This has led to the impression that Hillary is not reliable as a leftist and it explains why she can’t inspire the left... because she “leads” by running after bandwagons. She also avoids controversies like the left’s summer of anti-cop outrage. As an aside, she still hasn’t taken a position on the Keystone Pipeline (an easy issue for right and left).

● Cheater. The DNC changed their debate schedule in an effort to give Hillary time to recover from her collapse and to try to drain her competitors of funds so they would drop out before she had to face them. They also limited the number of debates to reduce the risk to her. This hasn’t sat well with Democrats, who see this as an underhanded attempt to save Hillary.

● Liar. There is a sense that Hillary is a liar. This is reflected in polling results which show that less than 50% of the public view her as trustworthy. And she keeps making it worse, like how she claimed the other day that she barely knows Trump and then had to answer how that can be as she attended his wedding. What’s more, the email issue is adding to this as Hillary is constantly finding her name in the news next to words that suggest that judges don’t trust her and are making her certify the things she says.

She seems to be in a slow freefall with no skills to pull out of it.

Thoughts?

"There is a sense that Hillary is a liar."

Now I wonder where that comes from…

So Trump is helping the GOP. In a way.

Another example, after the debate Debbie Wasserman Schultz tried to use Trump's comments as proof that misogyny was rampant on the stage. But Trump is so whack-a-doodle and the contempt in which the other candidates hold him is so clear that you can't really make such attacks stick.

Kit, I actually read an article the other day that said that Trump was helping the other candidates because they could very openly reject his idiocy and that was helping them define themselves away from the nastier things the fringe has been embracing.

tryanmax, LOL!

I suspect Hillary may be screaming that when she's home alone wondering why things are going wrong.

"EEEEEEeeeeeeoooooouuuuuummmmpth…"

Ok… maybe it's some 90s Clinton joke I was not privy to, but I don't get it.

Hillary: "Why doesn't anyone try to heckle me? Surely, I'm important enough to be heckled."
Assistant: "Yes, but you are just too wonderful to heckle. There is just nothing to heckle you over!"
Hillary: (Laughs) "You're right."

"I actually read an article the other day that said that Trump was helping the other candidates because they could very openly reject his idiocy and that was helping them define themselves away from the nastier things the fringe has been embracing."

SCENE: Republican Party headquarters in Washington, D.C., Trump and Reince Priebus are meeting.

Trump: "The chances of us winning in 2016, are slim. The party is fractured by in-fighting, divided, split. Too filled with crazies who will hijack the party, making us look insane."
Reince: "I know."
Trump [standing up]: "I can be the crazy. The Democrats can't win. America needs the Republican Party.
Reince: "No, no. You can't."
Trump: "You either win a candidacy, or you live long enough to see yourself become a wacko loon with too much time on his hands. I can do that. Because I'm not a candidate, not like the other people we'll be running."
Reince: But, no one will never know.
Trump: They won't know. I'll say outlandish things. You'll condemn me, Macy's will probably drop me. So will NBC. My career might be ruined. I'll be relegated to talk radio, if I'm lucky. But that's what needs to happen. Because sometimes the truth isn't good enough. Sometimes the people need a village idiot to make the others look smart." (Leaves)

[Assistant enters]

Assistant: "Why is he leaving like that?"
Reince: "Because we have to go after him."
Assistant: "Why?"
Reince: "Because he's the candidate we deserve, but not the one we need right now so we'll attack him. Because he's not our candidate. He's a village idiot. A rodeo clown. He's the Donald."

She should talk to Bill about this, I bet he knows all about pulling out. Ba-dum-tis!

Let me try a few more:

"Bernie Sanders is drawing massive crowds, while Hillary is struggling to fill even small venues."
And celebrities. He snagged Mark Ruffalo. (The Hulk!)

"The leftist media is flirting with Joe Biden... fricken Joe Biden!"

That is bad. Really bad. That is Care Bears movie beating out Disney's Dark Cauldron bad.

"Elitist leftists have been trying to convince the CEO of Starbucks to run."
But I thought it was the Republicans that was the party of Big Business!

An aside: Wouldn't it be weird if 2016 were a Schultz vs. Fiorina race?

"This has led to the impression that Hillary is not reliable as a leftist and it explains why she can’t inspire the left... because she “leads” by running after bandwagons."
It's like she makes all her decisions based on political calculations instead of principles.

"At this point in the political cycle, the Democrats are usually about 10-20% ahead of all the GOP challengers, but Hillary is actually losing to a couple, especially in battleground states."
I hope to God she is the nominee.

I has no idea so many nurses are commies. I mean, how many of the rank and file nurses actually support KGBernie, or are even aware of their leadership support of him? Or can careless?

It would be imteresting to find out, because it's difficult to believe all 185,000 are commies or commie lites.

Ben,

Most unions are rather left-wing. The Nurses unions is very left-wing.

Think about the United Methodist Church. The leadership is very far-left, so far left I've taken to calling the four year Methodist General Conference the Methodist General Soviet. The only reason we have not endorsed same-sex marriage is because of the Africans.

But the laity is far more diverse politically than a meeting with the Church's Politburo (a.k.a., Council of Bishops) would have you believe.

USS Ben USN (Ret) said...

The timing of this criminal investigation doesn't bide well for Hillary.
Of course, I could be wrong, but it seems to me that if Obama was trying to exonerate her he would have had that done by now.

Or maybe he is trying to get her exonerated and is just being incompetent about it.
What are the odds that some of Hillary's minions take the fall for this?

At any rate, I fervently hope the investigators follow the evidence, or what's left of it, and manage to make a case showing that she lied, repeatedly broke the rules and the law, and knew she was breaking the rules (since she warned State Dept. employees not to do what she did).

Not to mention she destroyed evidence, or attempted to.

USS Ben USN (Ret) said...

Kit, that makes sense. I'm not familiar with that union. I know, locally, Providence hospital is Catholic owned, but they are unionized and when I worked there most of the nurses were failrly conservative, libertarian or independent. But this is a relarively small town, and conservative county so I'm certain it doesn't represent all unions.

Heck, even the VA nurses are unionized, but that's a different one too.
Come to think of it though, you are correct, more often than not unions support democrats who are mostly socialist in their views, or don't care as long as democrats ensure they are rewarded somehow.

Unfortunately, many union members don't seem to realize that the democrats usually hurt them or do nothing for them (GM notwithstanding).

Kit said...

Andrew,

There is another distinction: Union Members vs. Active Union Members.

A very important distinction in states that are not Right-to-Work.

tryanmax said...

Kit, Andrew, that's supposed to be the Wile E. Coyote falling off a cliff sound.

Anthony said...

I agree 100%. Hillary is a terrible campaigner who lacks the ability to connect with people on any level.

She is still the Democrat's best hope because Bernie Sanders is too far left and O'Malley shares Hillary's weaknesses and lacks her one asset (her gender, which if she is lucky, will cause a Sandra Fluke moment close to election time).

Still, unless Republicans get monumentally stupid (a possibility) Hillary should be easy to beat in 2016.

Unknown said...

Andrew......I wonder what the background is on all this new Hillary info. I know there's the FBI and Justice Dept. 'appear' to be going after her now, but I'm sure very reluctantly. Perhaps the NSA knows that all the State Dept. servers were hacked by the Chinese and Russians via the Clinton servers. The perfect backdoor. And they know that the info they have on not only Clinton, but probably all of Obama's minions and stooges throughout the gov't, will be exposed right before the election, thus guaranteeing a massive Repub win across the board once the idiot voters realize what's going on.
But at this point, it sure seems like even if the hacked emails show treason and widespread graft and corruption at the highest levels of our gov't (Obama, Kerry, Jarret, et. al.) the leftists will still support them.
I think Biden is left out of the graft and big loot because he's an idiot who will spill the beans inadvertently, so they won't let him in on the game.
Look at the left. They support an avowed Socialist! Someone committed to destroying everything this country was founded upon. Who thinks they'll mind if Obama, Clinton and their cabal have looted the treasury, sold us out to the enemy, and used the power of the federal gov't to go after their domestic opponents.
We are just another banana republic now, or even worse, Euro welfare state.

USS Ben USN (Ret) said...

Bob, essentially the only differences between socialism and the foals of the democrat party are superficial at best.
In fact, Debbie Shultz couldn't even answer the question by Chris Matthews of all people about the difference between socialists and democrats.

The biggest difference is that socialists are usually honest about what their ultimate goals are, while democrats try to hide it or call it something else, like progressivism.

I despise Sanders but at least he's honest about his ideology, which is probably one reason he is catching up to Hillary (who I also despise) in popularity among the base.

It's beginning to look like Biden is the only one that may have a chance, if he runs, and I think he will (otherwise why even mention that his son wanted him to run before he passed away?).

Of course, I never underestimate the stupidity of the GOP, but I doubt that every republican will implode or be as toxic as the left's candidates have been thus far.

Frankly, I'm surprised Jim Webb hasn't thrown his hat in, but then again, most of his base don't like him much, even though he would appeal more to independents and conservativish democrats than any other democrat.

The next step in the "Game Of Emails" will be the FBI and DOJ suggest investigation of the Bill-Hill-Chels Clinton Foundation Of Really Really Good Works because you know that they will/have already found electronic evidence that she and Bill have been co-mingling foreign donations with official State Department and campaign finance business. And FBI/DOJ have been going after Huma "Mrs.Carlos Danger" Abedin and Cheryl Mills and their emails and whereabouts during their tenures at State. I am waiting for dragons to appear on the horizon and a Red Wedding.

Fredd said...

A casual observer might conclude that Hillary's political ambitions have been dealt a severe blow by these recent FBI relevations about top secret info being sent on this evil crone's private server.

BUT....wait for it......she has weathered really bad scandals many, MANY times prior to this one. And she does so by the tried and true page out of the Clinton playbook; deny, deny deny. Then wait for the media to move on to other things, and count on the truly limited memory of the American voting public to cleanse her plate of any perceived wrong doing.

We'll see. This time may be different, since Obama calls the shots at the justice department, and they are the ones to prosecute her if any malfeasance is proved. It's different this time, because Obama flat out doesn't like the Clintons. Let's hope he turns the dogs loose..

AndrewPrice said...

Kit, Even worse, Hillary's had some very public reversals where people have endorsed her and then jumped ship to Sanders.

Personally, I think Sanders would be a LOT easier to beat in the general election. He's unelectable in America... Hillary, sadly, is not.

AndrewPrice said...

Ben, With unions, you never how the rank and file feel compared to the leaders, who are almost always leftists... though not always. And in this case, keep in mind that the union consists largely of young women with some college, but nothing particularly rigorous like engineering. That's Hillary's ideal target. So if they jumped to Sanders, that's really bad for her.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Beep beep! LOL!

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, I agree. Sanders is unelectable. I still think they will turn to O'Malley if Hillary finally stumbles, but yeah, he is Hillary without the gender plus. Hillary can be elected, but she will really need a lot of help from the GOP.

AndrewPrice said...

Bob, I don't think there's anything new except that a federal judge has demanded that she turn over emails. My guess is that the US Attorney simply reached a point where they could no longer cover for her. OR Obama just decided to destroy her before the debate season begins. I guess we'll see, but none of that is good news for her unless the US Attorney issues a letter (of a type they NEVER issue) exonerating her.

AndrewPrice said...

Ben, Biden doesn't have enough dead relatives to exploit for sympathy to overcome the fact that (1) he's a retard who can't keep his foot out of his mouth and (2) he comes across as a smug ass hole. The idea of Biden as a candidate is a joke which reveals how desperate the Democrats have become if he is their backup plan.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, LOL! Nice! I'd love to see the Red Wedding... maybe at the Democratic Convention?

If the FBI finds proof that they co-mingled State Department funds with Clinton Foundation slush money, they will go to jail. In the meantime, I suspect a several month investigation that drips out rumor after rumor and ends with some minor "slap on the wrist" that, sadly for Hillary, works to give official sanction to the rumors.

A lot of people are thinking Hillary will see the writing on the wall and drop out for "health" reasons within a couple months.

AndrewPrice said...

Fredd, That's the only reason I give this any credence. This strikes me as Obama getting even with the Clintons and finishing them off. And the reason I think he's doing it is that he doesn't want them reclaiming the party and pushing him and his people back out. Basically, he sees it this way: if Hillary vanishes, then Obama people will control the Democratic Party for years to come and he will be held up as "the Great Leader." If Hillary takes over, she will do her best to drive out his people and eradicate his memory.

It's a battle of narcissists and he just struck first.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, BTW, there has been talk of investigations of Huma Abedin for a long time. I'm not sure what they think she did, but it sounded fairly significant when I first heard it.

Anonymous said...

It's off today's topic but I mention it because it's relevant to the topic from August 9th about Black Lives Matter. Over at The American Thinker Colin Flaherty has a good column about claims of police racism that turned out to be fraudulent. And Michael Loftus has a video along the same lines.

Andrew - There are questions as to why Ms. Abedin was a part-time employee of the State Department payroll at the same time she was allowed to maintain her position at a politically connected "consulting" firm for which one of her "clients" was....The Clinton Foundation She received some special waiver from State so that she could work part-time at State and also be allowed to maintain private sector "consulting" clients, but the waiver was meant to be so that she could work for clients who had no conflict of interest like lobbyists and such.

And then there have been State Dept. emails found in which she was planning campaign fundraising functions for Clinton while serving at State too.

It's all just more layers to the Clinton cake.

On the bright side, I fully expect that somewhere Hillary will say "It all depends on what the meaning of "never" is." Hey it worked before!

AndrewPrice said...

GypsyTyger, I think it's important that people start pointing out false claims of police racism. If there is no push back, then the left will be free to keep making the claim without any consequences.

Ditto on false rape claims.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Thanks! I'd forgotten what it was. Hopefully, that and the email scandal will give the FBI the chance to dig into the Clinton slush fund world.

Actually, the Black Lives Matter protestors did try to pull one of their stunts at a Hillary rally, only she stopped them. In a way that only Hillary can.
From HotAir.com: LINK

"This is one case where Clinton’s Great Wall of Silence strategy paid off for her in spades. The BLM crew was telegraphing their punches a bit too loudly and Team Clinton caught wind of it. They shut down the small, “private” event before they had the chance to get in there and try to seize the stage the way they did repeatedly with Sanders. Then, in order to get in some damage control, Clinton cancelled her planned Q&A with reporters to instead speak to the protesters. (No journalists allowed, of course.) That probably mollified them enough – at least temporarily – to get out of Dodge without it blowing up in their faces. As a bonus she got to avoid any more unpleasant questions about her email server."

BevfromNYC said...

Kit - I am convinced that the whole BLM group "taking over" the Sander's rally was staged. Nobody gets to storm a stage and take over a microphone with all the security guards around without being invited to.
