Stuff...

Just a couple of issues to talk about today.

So, did you hear the one about former Sec't of State Hillary Clinton and her email issue that has been deemed over and over and over as a "right-wing conspiracy"? Yeah, now it is getting full on criminal investigation by the FBI and DOJ. The Clinton campaign did not "immediately respond to a request for comment." I can't wait to hear the tortured, lawyerly excuse the Clintons will cook up. If nothing else, it will be entertainingly twisted.

Oh, and this is for the long list of how our governemt agencies waste the money we give them. The Census Bureau paid Dick Gregory a $1400 (other reports say it was cloer to $15,000 with "expenses") to give a crazy, conspiracy theory-ladened rant...er...motivational speech for Black History Month to the federal employees the Census Bureau. The embarrassed Bureau management posted an apology on their website:

May 15, 2015 — The Census Bureau’s Equal Employment Office invited Dick Gregory to speak at a Black History Month cultural emphasis program. Gregory was paid $1,400. He was invited to share personal recollections of the civil rights movement in a way that would be appropriate for a federal workplace.

We have informed staff that Gregory’s statements were not appropriate and we are taking steps to strengthen our policies for vetting outside speakers.

Judicial Watch posted the video and a copy of the document received as part of their FOIA request including a transcript. But my favorite part is that the ever so enlightened goverment ageny actually hired a sign-language interpreter to sign his "speech". Imagine what that poor guy was thinking why he was signing the "N-word" as a direct request from Mr. Gregory...

Lord help us... and please, please don't make it Donald Trump! The floor is open...

Hiring a famously profane, hard left, conspiracy theorist/social activist who has a long history of fighting requests to 'conform and be polite' to deliver a speech free of controversy strikes me as a really, really bad idea.

As for Hillary Clinton, I had a funny conversation with a coworker a few days ago (black guy in his 60s who doesn't pay attention to news). He told me he was a Democrat who wouldn't vote for Hillary because he felt she was lying every time she opened her mouth. So far, so good.

He then told me he thought it was likely Trump was going to win the Democratic nomination, at which point I informed him Trump was a Republican who is currently the most popular candidate. He was shocked.

The whole thing reminded me of the possibly fake story about the guy who comes out of the long coma and when told Reagan is the president says 'The actor?'.

I'm 99.9% certain that whoever booked Gregory knew precisely what he usually says.
They probably didn't expect a FOIA request from Judicial Watch over this.
Judicial Watch is one of the charities I have been giving to for about a year now, because they uncover stuff like this, and a lot worse quite often.

Besides, it's not like the vast majority of reporters are gonna suddenly do their jobs, so someone has to step up and file all the requests and start lawsuits when they are turned down.

The latest I have heard from Camp Hillary is that now she says she did not see any classification markings on the classified e-mails which is very convenient.
I hope the FBI uncovers the truth but I seriously doubt anything will happen to Hillary over it.

Now, if Hillary starts criticizing Obama then something might stick, but as of right now I don't see that happening, unfortunately.

This site is really educational. I didn't know Dick Gregory was still alive! I read an interview once with Ferdie Pacheco, who was Muhammad Ali's fight doctor for most of his career. I believe it was before either the first Frazier fight or the Foreman fight. Pacheco was in Ali's room when Gregory came up. He had some nutritional theory about how your kidneys don't filter out waste. Turns out by flushing your urine you're wasting valuable nutrients, according to the self educated "nutritionist." Ali's response was a classic. "You want me to drink my own piss?" Gregory left Ali with a bunch of pills and what not. Ali promised Gregory he'd take them, walked Dick to the door and flushed every thing down the commode.

But The Donald is a New Yorker...

And as to Dick Gregory, his first name says it all. I'm sure that his opinions come as a result of drinking his own urine.

Bev, One thought...

The FBI and DOJ would not be doing this without the tacit permission of Obama himself. Consider the meaning of that for a moment. :)

LL - Actually, no, The Donald is from NJ. He's just built tall buildings and gold-leafed them in NYC. I have watched him for many years...like when he suddenly went bankrupt and not a dime to his name when Ivana Trump sued him for divorce. Then suddenly when the deevorce was settled/signed...imagine he's rich again!!!! Then there was Marla Maples. Yeah he married her and then bought a part in a Broadway show so that he'd know exactly where she was 8 shows a week, so he could cheat on her. At least he got a pre-nup. He is a freakshow barker. Not even a circus ringmaster...he is actually the guy on the outside of the tent begging people to take a look at all the freaks...

Yeah, I don't like him at all and frankly he embarrassing. He makes Sarah Palin look downright Harvardian.

Bev, To add to that...

His companies have been in and out of bankruptcy several times. Each time they owe WAY more than they make.

He got involved with professional wrestling briefly.

He screwed Don Schula when he owned the New Jersey Generals. Then, when that failed, he sued the NFL to try to get publicity or a long-shot at money.

He's been a bit democratic supporter most of his life.

What he's doing now is interesting. I suspect he hired someone to go read the fringe-right blogs and create an enemies list from that. And now he's basically attacking their enemies list one at a time. It's a wonderful con job.

Andrew - Of course they have Obama's blessing. He is out to destroy them because he's a vindictive little man and the Clintons deserve it...win/win for everyone, right? Interesting, I was watching an interview a few weeks ago with Guiliani. He was surprised that a formal criminal investigation has not been started already. There was too much suspicious evidence coming out (mostly the destroyed hard drives) that raised his former US Attorney radar and that at the very least in warranted a serious investigation if nothing else, to clear up the issue. Maybe next, they'll move on to the Clinton Foundation/Clinton campaign co-mingling of funds foreign and domestic.

On related news, Huma Abedin, wife of Anthony "Carlos Danger" Weiner and #1 assistant to Hillary Clinton, is now embroiled in an investigation of her own. It seems that there were emails of her planning political fundraisers while on the State Department clock and the DOJ wants to know why...

Seriously, Donald Trump is just Kim Kardashian (or any Kardashian for that matter) with bad hair.

So, I followed the link and tried to read the Dick Gregory transcript. It is insane, lunatic ramblings. I didn't make it all the way through. Maybe I'll try the video if my sanity returns.

BevfromNYC said...

Tryanmax - You are right. I scanned through most of it quickly, and it truly is like the kind of twisted logic and ranting I hear from schizophrenics on the buses and subways.

Watching the 5pm debate.

Kill me…

BevfromNYC said...

Kit - Play a drinking game and it may go down better...the debate, not the drinkables. You are a very brave, brave soul and I admire you greatly...really, I just can't do it. Please be careful.

FYI, I just saw a fantastic conservative meme cross Facebook.

"It's funny how, when a dentist shoots a lion in Africa, the dentist is to blame. But when one person shoots another in America, the gun is to blame."

AndrewPrice said...

I can't do the debate either. I would rather slit my wrists.

Andrew -

Ironically, Bram Stoker's Dracula is currently airing on one of the Starz channels. I'd call that ironic counter-programming!

AndrewPrice said...

Scott, They should have shown "Battle of the Dwarves" if there is such a thing.

I am going to watch to see if Trump implodes.

I believe Clinton responded by stating it wasn't a criminal investigation. Clintonism as its best - believe me not your lyin' eyes!

Trump has gotten both strong cheers and strong boos!

Trump also has 50% of the vote on Drudge.

Megan Kelley seems to have the long knives out for Trump.

All of them are going a little easy on Bush.

I thought Kelly's question was legit. Trump is the one who said all those things about women (okay, Rosie don't count, but the other women require some explanation) and you can count on the democrats to bring it up often with their bogus war on women meme.

During that exchange I thought Trump came across as childish, and he didn't answer the question. Then again he didn't answer any questions to any degree of detail whatsoever, and his excuse that "virtually all companies" go bankrupt was clearly BS.

I'm surprised no one brought up Trump's support of eminent domain which he took advantage of for his own profit. Yes, Trump though a granny under the bus because her house was in his way.

Trump is a crony capitalist but now he's against it and he is more of a RINO than most of the Rino's he has criticized.
Oh, and many businesses are successful without resorting to giving money to Hillary, Reid, Schumer, Rangel and Christ.

Trump isn't about making America great he's about making himself great, and frankly, he's doing a horrible job since good character is a big part of any great person, and Trump is sorely lacking in that.

USS Ben USN (Ret) said...

Threw no though. Stupid computer should know that's what I meant.

Incidently, I thought Walker, Cruz, and Carson did well, and even though I don't like them much, even Rubio and Huckabee did well.
It was fun to watch Paul and Christie savage each other too.

Bush and Kasich came across as very weak IMO. Same old "we need big govt. to be compassionate" crap.
