Today's The Day!

Today is finally here! That day where we jump out of one frying pan and into the another one repeatedly over and over until...oh, wait, that was just a nightmare I had about voting. The reality is that most people will go to the polls today and cast their ballot and whatever happens, will happen. For better or worse, the Republic will survive.

According to RealClearPolitics.com, here is how the electoral votes shake out as of 8:30pm on Nov. 7:

203 Clinton/Kaine                  171 Toss Ups                164 Trump/Pence

As you can see, it is going to be close and could even come down to another recount in Florida. It also could happen that one candidate wins the popular vote, while the other wins the electoral vote.

Some of you have already had the opportunity to cast your votes. Good for you! But for those of us who have to cast our votes the old fashioned way by actually standing line, let us know what is happening at your polling place. As always, let us know what you think, how your feeling, and, most importantly, what you're drinkin' to get through the night until the results start rolling in.

If you are still undecided, maybe this video from Cleveland will help you decide...

But whatever the results...God Bless America!

do you know of an election results site to watch this PM?

Some thoughts...

1. Voting for Clinton will give lend aid and comfort to the SJW.

2. Trump. Sh*t. Bobby Jindal would have been amazing. Marco Rubio would have been great. Scott Walker would have been good. The right is stupid.

3. This was the worst election ever from the left. This election was about smears, race baiting and gender baiting. Don't ever believe again that the left acts in good faith.

4. The media finally went all in and became an arm of the Democratic party. The Wikileaks stuff is just the icing on an obvious cake. Not only did they get Clinton team approval for stories... not only did they give Clinton debate questions in advance... not only did they ignore all kinds of things they knew about Clinton while repeating obvious lies about Trump as fact... but the DNC even helped prep Wolf Blitzer and NBC to question Trump. Think about that.

5. Our elites may win this election, but they are losers, and I suspect they are getting close to finding their backs against the wall one way or another.

Darski - I have no idea. I have always favored RealClearPolitics, but I am not sure if they are going to be running a minute-by-minute update. Twitter's always fun. Maybe others have an idea.

BevfromNYC said...

I agree on all of your points, Andrew. But I will add this, Jindal, Walker, Rubio...they would have been crushed by the Clinton machine. As much as I abhor Trump, he was the only one who could go head to head and come out alive. He has given as good as he gotten. There is no reason why Clinton shouldn't be winning in the double digits except for Trump. And interestingly, he spoke more about policy than Clinton did. She pretty much spent her time and energy saying how deplorable everyone is through her proxies.

I am wondering how many people are going to demand that BJ that Madonna promised? I hope she's sued for false advertising/fraud if she refuses.

tryanmax said...

I agree completely, Bev. The Clinton smear machine wasn't built for Trump. She coulda had any of those wonk marshmallows self- flagellating for failing to signal at an intersection. The conservosphere would have excoriated them for their impurity. And all would have dismissed Hillary's emails in favor of a clean, forward-looking race. As it stands, campaigning against Trump, Hillary has struggled to prove herself the lesser evil.

Don't get me wrong, I love for an election to be a battle of the wonkiest wonks. But that's just not where things are right now.

Kit said...

Bev, Tyranmax,

I disagree. It's worth noting that Rubio, Walker, and Jindal would have had the benefit of not having utterly poisoned their name in the electorate the way Trump has.

The only reason Trump is doing well is because Hillary is so horrible.

Oh, and they would've invested money in a ground game and allowed themselves to be vetted by the GOP and would've hired competent people to run their campaigns. They also wouldn't have to be mothered by Kelly Anne Conway.

Trump is an awful candidate.

Kit said...

If it weren't for the FBI's recent email investigation Hillary would be doing much better. The timing was brutal for her.

Kit said...

By the way, I expect Hillary to win. It will probably be a tad narrow but she'll win.

The house will remain in GOP hands. It's the Senate I'm watching.

BevfromNYC said...

Kit - I agree that Hillary will win, but not tonight. Expect recounts in those very close cases and the cry of "How DARE Trump not just concede like Al Gore did in 2000???!!!!".

And much like when Obama won, there will be the ringing of the bells throughout the world will hail her the second coming of Mother Mary and she will be sainted on the spot. Just like Time Magazine declared Obama to be "god-like" with his soaring rhetoric and words that can heal the Earth.

And yet her husband is a rapist, she's a liar and the most reprehesible excuse for a woman I have ever witnessed in my lifetime...really. At least I know Trump is reprehensible, he doesn't pretend to be otherwise and makes no excuses.

At least she cancelled the giant Hudson River fireworks display that would be seen from her victory party in the Javits Center that has a giant "glass ceiling". Get it??

Kit said...

A good article from Kevin D. Williamson:

"Election Day is overrated because elections are overrated. Elections are useful for one thing, and it is an important one: allowing the general public to check the people and parties in power. For all the “throw the bums out” rhetoric, we historically have not done that very often, though in recent years we have swung erratically and dramatically in both presidential and congressional elections. We tolerate more than we should, but we can, when needed, show the powers that be the door."

AndrewPrice said...

Bev and tryanmax, I agree with a caveat. Trump has an understanding of the public and of the true nature or politics, which the other GOP guys not only can't see but won't see. And it's likely that Rubio and Jindal would be far behind at this point for that reason.

That said, the problem with Trump is that he's also so horribly flawed. He targets the wrong targets because he has "small dick" syndrome. He also has this history of sexism which can be used against him too.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Ironically, I think the Republicans in Congress will get along much better with her than they would have with Trump. For one thing, they are all beltway insider-bureaucrat types, so they have the same reflexes. For another, they have the same masters... Goldman Sachs. For another, Clinton will be much more willing to cut deals to get things done because she's seen Obama fail by being strident.

In return, she gets a liberal Supreme Court for the next twenty years, which only affects a handful of issues that the general public doesn't care about. Oh well.

AndrewPrice said...

Let me add, the one thing that worries me is Putin. Putin will push her hard because he knows she's a fool and a coward. If she responds weakly to his aggression, then there are troubling times ahead.

BevfromNYC said...

BTW, Today is Kit's birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday, Kit!

I don't know exactly how old he is today, 'cause I don't know that would be in "internet" years...;-D

BevfromNYC said...

Andrew - I agree with that she would be much more willing to build consensus in Congress. Bill did that too. And I agree with you about Putin.

There is another issue that might come up that I had forgotten about. There is a very real possibility that McMullin will win in Nevada....interesting.

ArgentGale said...

First off, Happy Birthday, Kit! Second, I just got back from voting and it was pretty much painless...or as painless as making the pragmatic vote against Hillary can be when Trump is the alternative, anyway. It felt more like laying a flower on the GOP's casket than casting an actual vote...or perhaps the casket was America's. Either way we're in for some serious misery and the people who could do something about it are still completely clueless and happy that way. Being a voice in the wilderness sucks, doesn't it?

Evening, folks! I'm one red speck in a sea of blue up hear in the People's Republic of South Jersey. Hmm let's see...

"what is happening at your polling place."
Brisk pace of voters coming and going at 6:00 a.m., everyone was smiling and polite.
What I think: The Trump Hidden Vote will emerge (I hope its enough!)
My feelings: Feeling good... a little tired of it all,
what I'm drinking: Boodle's Gin on the rocks with a handful of olives thrown in...

Cheers!

Jon said...

Where are my manners? Happy Birthday, Kit!

BevfromNYC said...

I am all voted up! It wasn't as hideous as in 2012 where I had to wait in line for 3 hours. Just took about 20 minutes. It save alot of time knowing which voting district table to got to. We have 8 districts voting in the same place. A woman I spoke to while waiting in the line said that the line this morning went 2 times around the block - that's 8 city blocks for reference.

My favorite part is not voting for the judges. It was a "pick 9" with only 9 on the ballot. Pointless use of ink.

Btw, ours is a 3 step system. Go the the table to sign your name and get your paper ballot, go to little booth (bring your own marking instrument because I have learned from experience that there are never any pens left). Step 3 is taking your ballot to the "scanners" and slip the ballot in the scanner and wait for it to read it.

The optional step for is to head to the nearest liquore store and buy a nice bottle of Irish Whiskey, pour generously into a nice glass, and drink...;-)

tryanmax said...

Watching live election results on Google. Florida just switched from Hillary lead to a Trump lead.

tryanmax said...

On Trump's name and his fitness as a candidate:

Trump had an excellent name before he decided to run for president as a Republican. From 1971 until 2015, Trump was known as a lovably flamboyant billionaire with a penchant for publicity, European women and putting his name on stuff. Even in the primaries, the worst said against him was that he was a joke. It wasn't until he was the Republican nominee that he was suddenly seen as a racist, a xenophobe, an abuser of women, a mental case, possibly a Russian operative--basically the worst human being ever. That's a pretty dramatic shift in public image.

As for Trump being an awful candidate, he's pretty much exactly what you would expect from a guy who hasn't been angling for higher office since he joined the student Senate. The fact that the American public sees him as roughly on par with Hillary Clinton, who is precisely the sort of political climber Trump isn't, is beyond astonishing.

Kit said...

If Trump can't pull in Florida, he's in deep trouble.

If Hillary pulls Florida and Ohio then Trump doesn't have a chance in hell of winning.

tryanmax said...

If Trump can't pull in Florida, practice saying "President Kaine."

Happy B-Day to our #1 Alabaman! Hope you had a great day, Kit!

Anyway, rather dull election talk today. Almost all of my co-workers were undecided because they despised both candidates. One guy took off to make sure he'd have time to get to his polling place. Lousy day for him to be off. Highest single day amount of work I've seen since April. Gotta pick up the slack...

Kind of a quiet night, if you ask me. Nothing like the sky-high expectations and heart-and-soul-crushing defeat from four years ago. (If I recall correctly, I spent that night watching Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing movies to get my mind off the pain.)

AndrewPrice said...

Holy cow!!

The media looks like 2004 when Bush won. They are giving excuses for Hillary. They look dower.

And this is amazing that Trump is leading in almost all of the swing states. I am shocked!

Jon said...

Trump has Florida

AndrewPrice said...

By my count, Trump is going to be at 286. Wow!!

AndrewPrice said...

It looks like the GOP is going to keep the Senate and the House.

Jon said...

Whoo Hooo! We won't go silently into the night!

AndrewPrice said...

BTW, Hillary cancelled her fireworks display this morning. Maybe she knew something?

Everything NBC is reporting from Hillary's campaign sounds defeated... "can still find a path" and "haven't given up yet."

Jon said...

Glad I didn't stake a spot near Independence Hall. (Wasn't going to, just chagrined that the "Fab 4" invaded my city)

That said, I'm enjoying the latest Christopher Guest mockumentary, Mascots, on Netflix.

Kit said...

Hillary could win, but its growing increasingly unlikely.

Of course, this could also be thrown to the House —and Paul Ryan throws himself out a window.

interesting points: The GOP Senate candidates are outperforming Trump. Some are suggesting an up-ballot coat-tails effect.

Anyway, I voted Evan McMullen and against everyone down-the-ballot. I spoke my peace.

Um, did we get PA? Looking at the Fox News Map... no announcement that I recall. Hope I wasn't drinking too much wine...

Socialized medicine lost in Colorado 1.5 million to 400k. Thank God!

We did raise the minimum wage. Ug.

We did switch from a caucus to a primary. That's good. It looks like we're also letting unaffiliated people vote, in those which will help in Colorado too.

We may have done something stupid by possibly banning "slavery" (also known as prison work programs and community service."

We shot down a cigarette tax increase.

Some other stuff.

AndrewPrice said...

Here's the spin...

1. Neither should have won. The people wanted Bernie.

2. This shows that the country is racist.

3. Angry white men did this. I hate them with the heat of a burning sun because they are so angry.

tryanmax said...

NH is now in a dead heat, 47%/47% with a diff. of ~200 votes

tryanmax said...

Scratch that, ~100 votes.

AndrewPrice said...

According to NBC, this is all about...

RACISM!! Whites who wanted Trump (never mind that minorities vote in greater percentages for Clinton).

HATRED OF WOMEN!!! This is white MALES trying to stop the first woman.

And what have the Republicans ever done for anyone anyways??? They had the Congress and Senate for two years and they did nothing with it except try to stop Obamacare! Why does these stupid angry white males support them? Boo hoo hoo.

tryanmax said...

Hey, you know those fundraiser things that look like a thermometer and get filled in as more money comes in? Well, I wish I'd made an electoral college thermometer for Trump, except shaped like a giant middle finger.

tryanmax said...

Just turned on NBC. Comedians couldn't write this shit!

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, It is pretty hilarious. They are in mourning and shocked that those ANGRY WHITE MEN turned out. Who could possibly have known that? It's ridiculous.

AndrewPrice said...

BTW, what do you know about the vote in Nebraska? They are counting on Hillary getting one of its votes. Will that happen?

tryanmax said...

Just saw a guy saying that this is all about Latinos. The unspoken sub text was that Cubanos are not real Latinos.

AndrewPrice said...

NBC has been all over the Latino thing. I think you can say that she did well with them, but that blacks did not turn out to help her, and whites went against her in a big way.

AndrewPrice said...

NBC: "Is it true that 89% of Republican women voted for Trump?" (act shocked) "What does that say?"

tryanmax said...

As of right now, Dist. 2 is still considered up for grabs. The last local update didn't say anything about that, but the GOP House candidate is the projected winner in the district. That said, I believe Don Bacon was leading Trump in polls.

tryanmax said...

On the gender gap, the thing they won't say is that Hillary does worse w/ men than Trump does w/ women.

AndrewPrice said...

NBC's guy just said that he can't see how Clinton wins Wisconsin or Pennsylvania, which gives Trump the vote no matter whatever else happens. I see the same thing.

I think he wins Arizona and Michigan and Alaska still too.

tryanmax said...

Skeletor is fretting about how little power Dems will have after this election. He overlooks all the Dem-built agencies that are crawling w/ their kind.

tryanmax said...

AZ and AK, absolutely.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, They sell as "Trump wins men by a massive amount, hence it is sexism."

BTW, some guy on NBC just said that Trump will be elected by "a segment of the electorate," by which he means angry white men only. Asshole.

"We're going to go from the first African American president to somebody who challenged his legitimacy. What does that say?"

"I think the answer is in the message, 'Take the country back.'"

Now Brokaw is whining about Trump being vulgar and misogynist and racist and saying the worst kind of things.

Blah blah.

Oh, and we're going to regret this tantrum "when they realize who he really is."

tryanmax said...

LOL, Brokaw wish-casting that Trump supporters will turn on him after he takes office.

AndrewPrice said...

He does look like Skeletor, doesn't he?

tryanmax said...

Fahq! PA has been sitting at 98% in for forever. Finish it already!

AndrewPrice said...

Wow. NBC is just repeating Clinton talking points and ads as true and wondering how anyone could vote for this monster.

Clinton, of course, is a great woman with no flaws worth mentioning.

Talk about simply deciding to be blind.

tryanmax said...

I've got a local update. Glad I missed it. *retch*

AndrewPrice said...

It was like four Clinton advisers sitting around lamenting how stupid the public was for not understanding who this orange devil really was.

As an aside, I am LOVING their pain!!!

tryanmax said...

Hillary just tweeted this:

"This team has so much to be proud of. Whatever happens tonight, thank you for everything."

tryanmax said...

This old lady is lamenting the demise of the good ol' boy, smoke filled room system.

AndrewPrice said...

Yep. She's an "historian" who happened to be a JFK person and has always slammed Republicans.

I find it interesting how they are blasting Trump with everything they can think of. Their level of hate is intense.

tryanmax said...

Let me just say, I am very glad to live in a red state, even if it's a blue district. I would be nervous to go to bed tonight otherwise.

AndrewPrice said...

Can you blame them for being upset? Tomorrow morning, Trump will sign an executive order re-instituting slavery, deporting all Hispanics, and letting him rape every woman in the country. Then at noon, he will push the button and start world war three.

And if we survive that... well, know now that no woman will ever be elected. And we know that angry white males will never let another black man be president. Global warming will kill us all next week. Something something hate.

Oh, and he's going to fat shame us all!!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!

tryanmax said...

Someone compiled this list: States that voted for Obama 2x that just voted for Trump:
Florida
Ohio
Iowa
Wisconsin
Michigan*
Pennslyvania*
Good luck calling them racist.

tryanmax said...

Wow! This guy on NBC. You seeing this?

tryanmax said...

I feel like I'm listening to Coast to Coast AM.

AndrewPrice said...

Wow. Now Trump is going to be impeached. He will create a constitutional crisis with Congress and the Supreme Court. He's a Russian dupe... so says "everyone." He's going to order the military to deport millions of Americans and "the generals" are trying to figure out what orders they need to follow.

That's all horse shit. Every last word is a leftist jerkoff fantasy that isn't based in reality in any way.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Exactly. NBC should be ashamed, even by their standards, for putting this guy on the air.

tryanmax said...

AP is calling PA for Trump. It is done.

tryanmax said...

Twitter is awash in people lamenting how persecuted they suddenly are.

AndrewPrice said...

Now he's advocating the media trying to take Trump down. Unbelievable.

tryanmax said...

What, like they haven't been? LOL

ScottDS said...

I've stayed off this site for the last month.

Earlier, I e-mailed Andrew asking for a silver lining and I wish I can believe it. I think the worst thing of all is this...

...I'm a better man than Trump is. So is Andrew. And Kit. And tryanmax. And the rest. We may not all agree on everything but when it comes to just being a decent human being... we're better than the man who's gonna be president! And that might be the worst thing of all.

tryanmax said...

"She needs a miracle at this point"

tryanmax said...

Scott, let me put it this way. We all may be better than Trump, but I'd say were better still than Hillary.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, They're praying for a miracle now. And the one guy keeps painting doomsday scenarios.

tryanmax said...

The lady in the glasses gets it. She hates it, but she gets it.

AndrewPrice said...

Scott, This isn't bad. It's really not. I think you're going to be shocked how little Trump matters to the country in a year or two.

Just hang tight. Stay away from the leftist tantrum that is building and will spew for a month or two. And then live your life. Probably nothing that affects you at all will change. That's how our system works... stasis.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Yep. She's the only one. The rest are in denial... or fully delusional.

tryanmax said...

Andrew, glasses lady did just say something that is probably false. I wish I had a link, but I came across an article last week that tallied how often each candidate used 1st person pronouns vs. 3rd person. Hillary was by far the more self-centered candidate.

AndrewPrice said...

Pat Tumey and Roy Blunt both won. Woo hoo!

tryanmax said...

Not that I'm in stocks, but I wonder what the markets will do tomorrow.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, That doesn't surprise me.

The woman in blue said something good too: "The elites (the media) took Trump literally, whereas the public took him figuratively."

That's actually true. Still, I think she misses how much people disliked Clinton, Inc.

AndrewPrice said...

The markets will crash huge in the morning... and I will buy everything I can.

ScottDS said...

Andrew -

I know you'll say this is me just believing the media and doomsday scenarios, etc.... but I'm not worried about me. I'm worried about my friends who aren't heterosexual white males!

Having said that, when Trump screws up, and he will, I expect you to write about it. ;-)

tryanmax said...

Huge? Or bigly? LOL

tryanmax said...

Scott, you should really be worried mostly about the Michael Moore types.

AndrewPrice said...

For some reason, NBC has shifted Nevada back to gray, though Clinton is still listed as "Projected Winner."

tryanmax said...

tryanmax said...

Just thought of this: John Pedo-sta. Funny? No?

tryanmax said...

Hillary refuses to concede tonight.

AndrewPrice said...

Scott,

1. It's physically/legally impossible to deport 11 million people. Also, Trump knows we need these people because he hires them. Expect him to demand a wall (or a sealing of borders) but to start talking about a path to citizenship.

2. Blacks. He's never mentioned any negative plans there.

3. Women. Ditto. Cut through the muck thrown at him and you'll see he's said nothing negative against women as a plan. In fact, he talks about expanding child care.

4. Gays. He's actually been pro-gay, plus the court decided that one.

Honestly, your friends have nothing to worry about.

And yes, I will cut him apart if I think he's wrong. I'm not going to go easy on him.

tryanmax said...

Fast fact on Google: Clinton won more counties where at least 45% of the population was black

My question is, why is the cut off 45%. Just strikes me as an odd number.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, I think it's hilarious (pun intended). She was screaming the other day about Trump destroying democracy by not being willing to conceding right away... and now she's refusing to do that. LOL!

ScottDS said...

tryanmax -

I don't take them seriously. I know, I know... maybe I should. But as I've mentioned to Andrew, the far left just annoys me while the far right scares me. Old news, I know. :-)

tryanmax said...

Scott, you misunderstand me. I mean that it's the Michael Moore types who will suffer most under Trump.

tryanmax said...

And Republicans take the senate

ScottDS said...

tryanmax -

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Can you imagine the hate and humiliation Hillary is cocktailing right now?

AndrewPrice said...

Daniel, I'm pretty shocked. I thought the got Trump during "rape month," when all the GOP types decided to try to destroy him again. But he lived and then the FBI and her own crapulence destroyed Hillary.

I have every reason to believe that Trump will be a good President... if not a good person. And even if he isn't, the system will keep him from doing anything stupid.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Wanna bet Bill's in hiding? LOL!

This ==> "How dare Trump win without an oiled political machine, millions in ad buys, and the backing of Wall Street!" is really funny because they keep saying it. I think it truly scares NBC that democracy lets people vote the way they want rather than the way they are supposed to.

tryanmax said...

Andrew, I forgot celebrity endorsements and media backing.

tryanmax said...

OMG! The guys on NBC are praying for missing ballots.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Not only missing ballots, but absentee ballots that come in at 100% in favor of Clinton.

Media backing? Pshaw! They are unbiased!

Kit said...

Andrew,

I admire your optimism.

Trump will probably spend the next four years picking fights with the GOP and bullying them into giving him whatever he wants. He'll pretty much go full Nixon, without the good qualities.

He'll probably abandon the Baltics and Poland (Bev, I remember you getting steamed at Obama over that) because of his weird bromance with Putin. That is, until Putin turns on him, at which point things will not be pretty.

We've nominated a moron who only reads books he himself has ghostwritten.

We've gotten a cross between Erdogan, Hugo Chavez, and Berlusconi. I hope the white working class of America are proud of this moment.

I predict the first thing he'll do is sick the FBI on National Review because, why not?

Kit said...

Andrew,

I honestly have no idea how you could say "I have every reason to think Trump will be a good president."

This man will be Nixon + Obama on steroids.

We must remember that you can do anything, rape, murder, steal, etc., but if you praise His Orangeness, then Trump considers you to be a good person.

If that is not the definition of an insecure little twat then I don't know what is.

Kit said...

The next four years are going to be pretty much a replay of the last few months (and, in some ways, the last four years). He'll pick petty fights for the sheer drama of it, he'll have no idea what he's doing, he'll stumble into conflicts and fights, and so on.

tryanmax said...

Kit, "you can do anything, rape, murder, steal, etc., but if you praise His Orangeness, then Trump considers you to be a good person."

Who exactly does this refer to?

AndrewPrice said...

Calm Kit... calm. I think you're misreading a lot. A lot of what Trump said was just repeating what Talk Radio was saying that's it. And I see no evidence that he believes any of it. Not to mention that the policies he's announced are nothing like the rhetoric from earlier in the campaign.

Plus, Chris Christie, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Pence, Arhtur Laugher. Those aren't fools and they are his advisors.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Not only that, but Trump raped women and he's being sued for fraud... and HE'S NEVER HELD OFFICE BEFORE!!

To be fair though, they did just point out that this was a high turn out elections so "everyone had their say."

From twitter: Only those who did a terrible job of predicting the future are panicked about the future. The ones who got it right are calm. Think on that.

AndrewPrice said...

Well said, tryanmax.

I've seen this many times in my life now. It's always panic by the losers at first. It's never that bad.

This speech and then bed

AndrewPrice said...

BTW, I will write something on this, but not tonight. Need sleep. Will do it tomorrow.

AndrewPrice said...

Wow, very gracious speech.

AndrewPrice said...

This was actually the best election speech I've heard. If he acts the way he says, I think he could be pretty incredible. We'll see if he can do it.

Final thought: great song selection!

Just woke up. Sounds like the populist beat the crook.

Same here, Andrew, though the signs that this was coming are becoming clearer now: the polls showing Trump leading among people determined to vote while Clinton just had the perception of inevitability for starters. Then there was Hillary being the boomerang candidate where everything that she accused Trump of always came back on her (and Bill) with more force than Trump. Another thought that hit me a few days before the election was that if nothing else Trump has always been good at salesmanship and it's been said repeatedly how essential that is for political success. If he didn't have that talent he'd have never come back from his bankruptcy in the early 90s at all, much less gone on to The Apprentice. Either way, I'm just glad that the election is over and that Hillary Clinton's political ambitions are too. As for Trump, I think all any of us can do now is hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Interesting times indeed...

I just woke up to the news! I am in shock! All I can say is "HOLY SH*T"...and you can quote on that. Sorry I missed the fun last night. Apparently everyone on the Left is moving to Canada today.

Well, on to next phase...recounts. Reports from around the world are that the entire world is shaking in their boots..and that's a good thing.

But on a lighter note, someone take good care of that Chinese Monkey and those dogs in Cinncinnati...the polling experts should hire them 'cause they were right. Btw, the cat was wrong...never trusted cats. ;-)

Goose, this is the gander. Please deal with it.

The other good news is that the comedians will get their political humor back that has been missing for 8 years. No one will be afraid to lampoon Trump. It will be another golden age for SNL.

BevfromNYC said...

Has Clinton conceded yet?

BevfromNYC said...

I have prediction: all of those rosy employment numbers and economic indicators that we have been fed for the last 6 years are suddenly going to to morph into the REAL numbers and it will be stunning how off they have been in the reporting. That 4.8 unemployment figure will jump to the real 10+%. And just in time for Obama to blame Trump for the "sudden" crash in the economy...

Just remember these three little things about the man whose victory you are celebrating:
—He has yet to distance himself from David Duke and his anti-semitic supporters.
—He has yet to condemn the death threats against journalists and critics.
—He has yet to pledge that he will defend our NATO allies, particularly the Baltics and Poland.

These aren't difficult. The first one is really easy considering his daughter is Jewish but he seems to think that anti-semites, wanna-be brownshirts, and Russian nationalists are the most important parts of his base.

Kit said...

So, I'm afraid to say I can't join anybody in celebrating because there is nothing to celebrate.

Nebraska update: The 2nd District went with the rest of the state, no EV for Hillary.
Don Bacon (R) is the new 2nd district rep.
Also, death penalty reinstated.

AndrewPrice said...

Just in time, tryanmax, for all the people Trump plans to kill. ;-)

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Yes, Hillary conceded.

I'm going to put together some thoughts and post them soon.

tryanmax said...

Kit, the David Duke claim is probably false.
Demanding that Trump condemn/pledge to things that ordinarily are ignored/assumed is scrounging for justification of your emotions.

Kit said...

Tyranmax,

He was asked about David Duke and he waffled that question. David Duke campaigned as a Trump supporter (and lost).

As for the death threats, read this: LINK

And if you think the stuff David French is, or should be, "normal" in a campaign then your definition of democracy is far more disturbing than mine.

tryanmax said...

Kit, your hallucinations are noted.

so Kit, it is fair to say that you prefer lying, thieving, murdering pedophiles for your political comrades. Good to know that. BTW speaking of the Klan, didn't Hillary try to channel Byrd at some point?

AndrewPrice said...

All right, folks. Let's all stay calm.

"So, I'm afraid to say I can't join anybody in celebrating because there is nothing to celebrate."

Kit, I agree with you to a point. But this is what happens when the elites f*ck the heartland over and over. Insult them by for being " deplorable, ignorant, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, islamaphobic bigot who are just too ignorant to be living" And the Dems MUST come to terms with what they have done. That they are not the smart ones, the elites are not the smart ones. It's the people who put food on the tables, clothes on the backs, lift/tote and generally keep this country running. It's not DC pundits, politicians, professors, or any other "P" word I can think of. And let's talk "groundg game". Do you know where Trump spent most of HIS time? In the Heartland...while Clinton spent all of her time in Urbania schmoozing with the MSM, Hollywood celebrities thinking that "the little people really gave a crap WHO she schmoozed with while at the same time sh*tting on all of those little people thinking that by calling them every single name in the book that somehow they would be too embarrassed to NOT vote for her.

This is what Democracy *with a capital D" looks like...it was the same in 1776 too...
