Fakers

A couple of fakers in the news.

o Michael Caine has joined a growing list of actors who are denouncing Woody Allen. Just as the #MeToo chicks are ignoring the fact that they let rapists prey on hundreds of other women so they could have careers, the actors denouncing Woody Allen are ignoring the fact that the things that supposedly shock them now were all over the news for years. Indeed, the Woody Allen story was a running battle being played out in the news as they worked with him. It was impossible for them to miss this. So all their claims to not knowing about it are pure-grade bullsh*t.

o Elizabeth "Fake Indian" Warren is now fighting the battle against those accusing her of faking her ancestry to advance her career. In the latest incident, someone suggested she take a DNA test to prove her heritage. Her response is just stunning. Apparently, she's so sure about her heritage that she's "not going to let someone take it away" with a DNA test. In other words, she's so sure she's an Indian that she's not going to risk proving it just in case it turns out she's full of crap. Wow. That's pretty much proof that she knows she's lying or at least has no idea if she's right. Maybe she should marry Rachel Dolenz, who claimed to be black because she felt black even though she was just white trash. Then any children they have through the miracle of gene splicing would be part fake-black and part fake-Indian... or fake-blindian.

o Trump accused Maxine Waters of having a low IQ. Hopefully somebody will explain to her what he meant. Then she can stop faking having a brain.

I recall a NYTimes piece (I think) where they gave staffers free DNA tests and interviewed them about the results. All the white people had some “diverse” genes, but the funny part was the dreadlock and dashiki wearing black-power guy who had NO African genes. He was angry! I believe the exact quote was “What are you doing to me?”

Given that they are both conspiracy theorists/victims who love mixing family and government business Trump and Waters should be the best of friends. Instead they are taking shots at each other. How sad.

Also Hillary is denouncing Trump as the candidate of poor racist whites (quite a few of whom voted for Obama) and women bullied by men (she considers women weak willed).

Secretary of State Tillerson is out.

In England Putin recently poisoned an ex-spy, his daughter and the cop who found them with a message sending rare and deadly toxin.

Trump has taken pains to avoid calling out Russia over the incident. In what sounds like an act of deliberate professional suicide Tillerson went off script and joined England in denouncing the incident and promising retaliation.

So Trump has now stated that he and Tillerson diverge too much and fired him without talking to him. Just another day in the Trump administration.

BevfromNYC said...

Anthony - Trump has stated wisely (seriously) that he is waiting for all of the facts to come in. PM May gave Putin 24 hours to explain to tell them the source of the poison used - whether the poison developed by/for Putin is in the control of the Russian gov't or rogue agents/terrorists who have "acquired" it from Putin.

OH, and the Brits have found another dead former Russian spy this morning...

AndrewPrice said...

Let me add two things on Tillerson:

1. He was apparently told he as being fired before he said what he said about Putin. He was told before last week.

2. What's wrong with a President firing a Secretary of State who repeatedly disagrees with him? No President is required to keep someone who won't follow his orders.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, Hillary is a fool and if she's doing that, she will only drive more people to Trump.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Britain really needs to respond in some serious manner. I'm not sure how though. Maybe indict Putin.

BevfromNYC said...

The whole Sen. Liz Warren things is kind of sad. I surmise that she has already taken a DNA test and knows the answer - no Native American ancestry. Why else would she proclaim:

“That’s the story that my brothers and I all learned from our mom and our dad, from our grandparents,” Warren said. “It’s a part of me and nobody’s going to take that part of me away.”

The Native American tribes are very aggressive in ancestral research and finding genetic matches. If it is found out that she has known she is not and accepted affirmative action appointments and money, she's going to be in a lot of legal and political trouble.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, That's hilarious! It sounds like faking racial identity is a common thing on the left, huh?

BevfromNYC said...

Andrew - I agree - May needs to respond in a major way especially if the Russian blow her off. And the EU needs to respond in support of the UK more than the US. OH, and what the hell is the UN doing? I think Amb. Haley has come out very strong, but I am sure that the UN bodies are trying their hardest to figure out how to blame Israel...the Mossad did it!

tryanmax said...

Not to pile on, but this is just the #NeverTrump game.

If Trump opts to wait-and-see, he doesn't want to do the right thing/sides with the bad guys.

If Trump issues a definitive statement, he's being reckless and will probably start a war.

Trump agreed prima facie with the UK's assessment and the WH has offered support at the ready. The UK has not even issued an unambiguous condemnation, let alone announced any actions. This is an event that happened on UK soil and is being investigated by the UK. It is entirely proper to let the UK lead on this and not issue any statements in excess of what the UK has announced.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, I don't think she has any choice. She can't let something like this happen in the UK. That's a risky game, but this too much to allow.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, I've stopped bothering with the anti-Trumps. They're just continuing a very long tantrum.

In fact, I sat in a waiting room with one today. The news was on and all he did was take shots at Trump. The thing is, it was all nonsense and childishness. What a total loser!

On the UK, the idea that Trump supports Putin flies in the face of all the evidence. It's wishful thinking.

Anthony said...

Andrew,

Like I said Tillerson’s statement looked like professional suicide to me. A cabinet member who publicly diverges from the President clearly doesn’t want his job anymore.

*Shrugs* Or maybe it was a goodbye middle finger on the way out the door.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see who leaves next.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, It strikes me as a middle finger. I would expect Tillerson no to go badmouth Trump on all the news shows.

BevfromNYC said...

The issue is not just Putin may or may not have ordered a hit on a former/current Russian spy. It was a poison gas/aspirant dispersed in a public place - a park bench. 30 people have been effected including 1st responder. The UK DOES need to take the lead because this is on their soil, but first they have to determine the source. If this is some rogue agent acting on his/her own and has a lethal gas...that's really bad. Also, I get the feeling that PM May is not going to back down. She wasn't making a Obama red-line statement just for show. It was a globally televised, very public statement on the floor of Parliament and in full view of the world. It wasn't "through channels" and oopsie, leaked to the press.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, In the past, this would have been considered an act of war.

tryanmax said...

I don't know what constitutes an act of war in the modern west, but May was more than clear: she's demanding heads at the very least.

AndrewPrice said...

Today, this would be an Act of Sanctions.

I suspect an act of war today would require something like the lobbying of a missile, and even then it would need to be done at the US or France most likely... I don't think the rest can go to war anymore short of an invasion.

tryanmax said...

I just realized that today, of all days, I planned to make Salisbury steak for dinner. Is that in poor taste, now?

BevfromNYC said...

Of course it could all be a Russian/Labour plot to stall Brexit...can't leave the EU if you need them to side with you.

BevfromNYC said...

Tryanmax - It would only be in poor taste if it didn't taste good. (or is that "well"?)

tryanmax said...

That's too British for me. I speak Murican

Anthony said...

I don’t doubt that if it admits anything, Russia will determine that rogues are responsible. Said men will either die or stay in Russian custody.

BevfromNYC said...

Putin rejected Britain's demand and then it reported he said "don't threaten a nuclear power". Now, THAT is act of war. Oh, and threatens to ban all British media

AndrewPrice said...

I stand corrected... Tillerson is already whining.

AndrewPrice said...

So, uh, tryanmax... what time are you eating? And where do you live? ;-)

BevfromNYC said...

New CommentaramaPolitics Rule: If you talk about making food, you have to share. Recipes are acceptable, but invitations give you more "CP points".

BevfromNYC said...

Andrew, they ALL whine and then cash in.

Late to the party, I know. But if I could get my two cents (rubles?) in...
Funny about the latest Russian spy kill. I was just watching a documentary on Kruschev's reign and the translated talking heads mentioned how, when the Commissar's boat was off Britain's coast for a meeting, the KGB got a tip that the RN was sending a diver under the boat to do surveillance. Anyway, the ex-Soviet being interviewed said the diver was taken care of cleanly and it didn't affect the diplomatic meeting. (Narrator Chuck Heston then tacked on that a headless body in a wetsuit was found on the beach a few days later.)
Well, I never! Come on, Britain! If you can't indict a balding, Ross Hagen-wannabe, at least humiliate him in the press with your Superior Linguistic Skills! (Willy S. demands it!)

Or do it the traditional, old-fashioned way!

Also, I know I'm in the minority on this, (wow, just typing that names feel all entitled, self-righteous, elitist, empty, sad, and abandoned at the same time...), but I prefer Daylight Savings Time. And it's high time all you witch-hunters quit scapegoating it like a bunch of French revolutionaries and turn your wrath on the true villain: Standard Time.
What has ST done for us? Short Days. Freezing cold. Sundown at 4:30. Patriots Super Bowls.
I, for one, LOVE the extra daylight in the evening.
Like my friend in college- who refused to recognized ST and kept his clocks on DST (true story!) in eternal protest, thereby making him a Dude among men- I say we end the ST terror and keep the light year-round!
Are you with me? Great! (If not, you suck and you're forever a Flyers fan to me- meaning you disgust me.)

BevfromNYC said...

Rustbelt...that's not how it works...that's not how ANY of this works! However if the Patriots NEVER play in another Superbowl, I will be happy to go with permanent DST! It's worth losing Arizona permanently in the vortex of time.

Rustbelt said...

Oh, it IS how it works, Bev. Think about it...

As for Arizona, let's follow Dear Leader's lead and sell it to the cartels. They pay in cash, not credit- or bullfighter flags.

This thing with Tillerson has got so many people upset...for no reason. I was brand new at Shearson Loeb Rhoades in 1980, just after the merger of Shearson Hayden Stone and Loeb Rhoades Hornblower...let me tell you, there were lots of departures in our Wall Street offices and at the WTC until folks understood that this was all about Sandy Weill's vision for the company, not theirs. Trump has always been notorious about canning people who don't work out..get used to it. He's not a creature of DC.

And on a die note for a later date..can any of ya'll tell me about a neighborhood on an island called Roosevelt Island? It's always intrigued me since I noticed it on a map years ago. I've read articles on it, but was curious what you native New Yorkers had to say about it.

Physicist Stephen Hawking is dead. Tremendous intellect and a fierce desire to not only live, but know and excel (he was given two years to live in 1963).

As someone with a layman's grasp of math and science I confess most of his work is well beyond my understanding but it's impressive that he figured out that there is a form of energy that is emitted by black holes.

Anthony said...

Going back to the firings, no one should be shocked or panicked. It was always clear what we were getting into. As I said back in 2016, the campaign made it clear that there would be a lot of blame shifting and departures in the Trump administration.

The latest rumors indicate Trump is planning on getting rid of all the ex-military guys (including his chief of staff) who seek to rein him in as well as anyone who tends to disagree with him. Anyone who ever expected anything else was kidding themselves.

http://commentaramapolitics.blogspot.com/2016/11/more-thoughts-some-trump-some-not.html

Trump will govern like he campaigned and like he ran his oft bankrupt businesses.

Poorly thought out, disorganized, key people constantly coming and going (taking big chunks of blame for past catastrophes with them), conflicting statements about policy goals and of course constantly shifting goals.

Sounds like Warren doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/03/14/cherokee-genealogist-casts-doubt-on-elizabeth-warrens-story-parents-elopement.html

The wedding was performed by a prominent Methodist clergyman, not a justice of the peace, Barnes found. She also noted that a detailed wedding announcement was posted in the local newspaper in Wetumka, Oklahoma.

“If Ms. Warren’s parents eloped due to her mother being ‘Cherokee and Delaware’ and it was such a disgrace, why did they rush back to Wetumka the same day they were married and proudly announce it to everyone?” asked Ms. Barnes. “If there was shame associated with the marriage and it caused so many problems, why was it happily announced in the local paper?”

Critch said...

I'm a little lost. I was in the Air Force with many white guys from Oklahoma and many were married to or family members were married to Native Americans,,,no big deal. I grew up in the Deep South, marriages between whites and Creek, Cherokee, and Chickasaw were fairly common..I don't get why she says there was a lot of subterfuge...I think she's just lying because that's what she does.

BevfromNYC said...

Anthony - that's interesting about Warren's parents. Oops, ya' know what that sound like? Mommy & Daddy "had" to get married. They didn't want to have to explain later to the children why Mommy & Daddy had sex before they were married. So they made up some elaborate plan that Grammy & Prampy forbade it 'cause Indian. It WAS Oklahoma in the early 20th Century. I wonder what date they were married vs. what date their first child was born...or not born because women did have a high rate of miscarriages too.

BevfromNYC said...

Critch - I can tell you about Roosevelt Island. And since you said "y'all" I will even tell you the truth!

Actually, Roosevelt Island is an island in the middle of the East River that was used as a prison island, a quarantine island (a/k/a Blackwell Island) back in the day - small pox, typhoid, tuberculosis etc. There is the decayed skeleton of the old Smallpox hospital on the southern end of the island.

It also has a former mental hospital on the northern tip of the island that now serves as a homeless shelter now (I think). Btw. the mental facility is famous for being where Nelly Bly wrote her famous expose of the horrid conditions of public mental institutions in early '20 Century.

Since the '70's it has been developed as an actual place for not-sick people. Lots of high rise buildings and all that. There is a tram that goes from Manhattan to the Island and a bridge (I think) from the Queens side.

Okay, I've never been there, but I live right across from it so I see it if I choose to look that way...why would I though. I live in Manhattan! ;-)

OH, they just opened up a beautiful park dedicated to Franklin (or Teddy) Roosevelt at the southern most tip of the island. That's so the UN officials wouldn't have to look out over a decayed smallpos hospital ruins.

Bev, That sounds like the beginning of a zombie film or plague/apocalypse film.

"Should we be building here? I mean, who knows what's growing in the soil."

"Don't be a jerk, Timmy. The land is cheap and no one will ever know."

//cough cough
