Panic!!

Watching the Democrats right now is fun. They have been routed and they are acting like it by pointing fingers in every direction as they flee. Think about everything they've blamed:

● Their drones want to believe the election was stolen, because they couldn't lose on the issues, right? They decided to blame the Russians for miraculously hacking machines that weren't even connected online. Obama and Hillary said it didn't happen at first, but they do need a fall guy. So when Jill Stein decided to push the claim as a money maker, Hillary jumped on board (all the while claiming she wasn't). Sadly, Obama still stood in the way, so pissy Senate Democrats told him to change his mind. Suddenly the CIA says the election was hacked. The media has bought in too, even going so far as to say that the recounts that were stopped after showing a gain for Trump "would have" shown that Trump lost except for the Ruskies. All this will do is keep their drones from accepting needed changes.

● The Washington Post assures us "this was no landslide." Oh, and Hillary won the popular vote. So nothing is wrong. Ok, keep believing that.

● This whole business about "Fake News" reeks of three things (1) an attempt to gain the right to define what will be a credible news source, (2) creating a new tool that allows leftists to dismiss inconvenient truths without addressing them, and (3) explaining away the last election. Indeed, the Democrats who spew "fake news" about every Republican are whining that fake news did them in. Beautiful. What a way to make their drones even crazier and avoiding learning anything!

● Joe Biden blamed Hillary this weekend. He said that Democrats "paid the price" for Hillary's failure. Of course, it use to be thought that all politics is local and with the Republicans in disarray with some refusing to endorse Trump, I'm not sure how Hillary can be blamed for their collapse at the state level. And collapse it was:
Republicans control 68 out of 99 state legislative chambers. The Democrats control 31. Republicans control 31 governorships. Democrats control 18. Twenty-five states are completely under Republican control. Six are under Democratic control. Republicans hold 52 Senate seats. Democrats control 48. Republicans hold 241 House seats. Democrats control 194.
This is the worst showing for the Democrats since before FDR. Do you really think it was Hillary's fault? And if that's the case, then why was the last "good" Democratic election 2008? What explains their disasters in 2010, 2012, and 2014?

● Other people they continue to blame: Bernie Sanders, Wikileaks, the FBI, and Obama. Several articles this weekend said they just didn't match Trump for nastiness. LOL! Talk about the wrong lesson.

I never count out an entire political party, but this is as close as I will get. The Democrats have been screwing up hard and fast since December 2008. At every chance, at every sign, they have closed their eyes and picked up speed. What's interesting about the above is that it suggests to me that the Democrats have actually bought into their own propaganda and now can't understand why the real world isn't working out the way they lied to everybody that it would. It seems that there are no rational people left on the left. Fascinating.

I find this to be an interesting example of how liberals are incapable of grasping what is happening. Check out this wannabe snarky quote from "The Daily Beast":

A lot of coastal liberals have been shaking their heads at Evangelicals these days. How, they ask, could over 80 percent of white Evangelical Christians have voted for a vulgar, boastful, sexual-abuse-bragging serial adulterer married to a former nude model? Let alone the race-baiting, the Biblical ignorance (“Two Corinthians”), the fraud, the tax-dodging, the cheating of business partners, and the promise to bring back torture.

That's the wrong question though. The real question is how can liberals be so unpalatable to Evangelicals that they would rather vote for (insert quote above) than a liberal who liberals consider moderate?

That's the question they should be asking if they were smart enough, rather than slamming people who didn't vote for them. But they aren't able to ask that question emotionally.

Bought into their own propaganda is right. They really are acting like only a sociopath or an idiot could believe anything other than the Democratic Party line and I'm seeing an increase in fearmongering about the environment, schools, and the Religious Right as well, most of which gets smacked down rather easily. One interesting thing that I've noticed about the whole fake news narrative is that most of the actual satire news sites out there lean left and most people who believe them are leftists. So much for that being an effective narrative, huh?

Panic! fits right in with something I've been observing. There are a lot of stories right now about things that need to happen before Obama leaves office, from CIA investigations of the election to the Cubs visiting the White House. It speaks to a zeitgeist, at the very least, in the press.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, I see that too. What's interesting is that nothing Obama does means anything because Trump can undo it right away, so wishing he would do something is basically a jerk off fantasy. Yet, they are all praying for it.

BTW, have you noticed that they are desperately trying to blur the "hacking" issue between the election and the hacking of the DNC? They want to use the proven hacking of the DNC as the evidence to claim election machines were hacked. It's actually a conscience effort to mislead themselves and we're watching it in real time.

AndrewPrice said...

Daniel, I really do think they have started to believe that own propaganda. This is tantrum thinking at it's worst.

I think the Fake News thing will fall apart because it's too easy for everyone to use and if both sides can use it, then it doesn't help them. Trump accusing CNN of spreading fake news was perfect! LOL!

It's actually a conscience effort to mislead...

It's not a new tactic, but I suspect the emphasis on "fake news" has something to do with it. On one hand, it's just a temper-tantrum: "Our news is real and yours is not!" On the other hand, it's a convenient distraction; get everyone looking elsewhere for fake news while you slip in your own fake news.

Trump tossing "fake news" back onto CNN shows me that he's aware of their game. A lesser tactician would defend their own news as true, but Trump takes the offensive and launches a proportional counter-strike.

It took me until this year to fully understand what my father meant when he would routinely say "the first liar doesn't stand a chance."

tryanmax said...

Oh, and on the third hand, the "fake news" stuff is obviously an attempt to hand-wave away the last year and a half where the mainstream admittedly tried to push Hillary into office via their coverage.

AndrewPrice said...

So the recounts are dead in Pennsylvania and Michigan, and in Wisconsin Clinton is going to cut into Trump's 12,000 vote lead by all of about 50 votes. It's over. And Stein took the legal equivalent of a shotgun to the chest when the judge basically called her attempt irrational.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, That's actually a truly insightful quote about the first liar.

I think, from the media's perspective, the fake news thing is an attempt to reset the field. The MSM has lost their credibility to bloggers and who knows what and they see this as a way to wash away everyone except the liberal MSM and to regain their power. But it won't work.

Good lord, if they would only stop hyperventilating, we could stop global warming in it's tracks. They are truly sucking all of the oxygen out of the world. And they are trying to find every excuse they can to not take responsibility for just running a lousy candidate, lousy campaign, and most importantly, INSULTING EVERY SINGLE POTENTIAL VOTER IN THE MIDWEST THE THE MOST ARROGANT SWEEPING GENERALITIES THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD! Oh, but no it can't be that. It must be RUSSIANS, or VOTER SUPPRESSION or...what next.

BevfromNYC said...

Can someone explain to me why Nancy Pelosi is demanding that the EC voters should get a National Security briefing before they vote?? What the hell are the Dems doing? ARe they really trying to burn the entire country down? Do they really want Civil War 2? Do they not understand that the Trumpsters are the 2nd Amd supporters?

BevfromNYC said...

Oops, it's official Hillary lost Pennsylvania by 44,292 votes. Jill Stein got 49,941. If only...Stein hadn't been directed by the Russians to run, so that Hillary would lose Pennsylvania!

AndrewPrice said...

Everyone should check out this article ==> LINK.

You can almost see the guy wearing diapers as he whined his way through this. He's come up with every nasty, whiny excuse he can find for why Goddess Hillary the most qualified person of all time for anything everywhere lost... I mean, she didn't lose, she won, but she lost because she got cheated.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, None of that matters. The recount was always a fraud because the Russians hacked the election and we all know it, and the very lack of evidence proves that it happened.

Idiots.

ArgentGale said...

I hadn't been paying much attention to the press, tryanmax, but that doesn't surprise me and Andrew's right about it being useless for them to try. This is definitely the worst political tantrum I've ever seen, though admittedly I've around for 8 presidential elections and didn't really start seeing how nasty things could get until the Bush years. It really does seem like they want absolute power or absolute destruction, doesn't it Bev? At least Trump's off to a good start on the fake news narrative. With him holding the bully pulpit it looks like the left's going to be throwing the right softballs with their crazy behavior for once. And Andrew, I had to start skimming that article near the end, but it is a good illustration of the state of the tantrum left.

We had a fist fight between 2 old ladies in the office the other day regarding the election. The Hillary supporter apparently was the aggressor.

The libs are in the denial phase with 1/3 stating Hillary actually won, 1/3 calling the results fraud, and 1/3 stating Bernie would have won. Hillary was a bad candidate that the Dems forced on America. A candidate that her own party had trouble drumming up enthusiasm to support. Imagine if she had integrity?

Tried to read the link--too long, too boring, and misses all the points.

Power has been a poisoned chalice in the US since the 1990s in part because of the tendency to overreach, in part because people kid themselves that all problems would go away if we had the right people in office (nods towards the War on Terror).

Given that Trump isn't even in office yet its a little early to tell if he will break the pattern, but both he and Obama made grandiose, impossible promises which their fringe lapped up.

tryanmax said...

Andrew, I commend you for slogging through that HuffPo piece. For me, just skimming was barely tolerable. If the graphics near the end are relevant, I suspect the "moral of the story" was that Trump voters are nationalist xenophobes?

tryanmax said...

P.S. regarding the graphics in the article. The breakdown of issues presumes that "immigration" and "the economy" are unrelated issues. That's absurd past the point of explanation. For people who are unemployed or underemployed, immigration is an economic issue.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Thanks. It was definitely a hard read. Sooooo whiny. Such nonsense.

In the end, I think the point was: Clinton didn't really lose, she just didn't win and she didn't win because all of her selfish, racist, asshole hypocrite critics cheated her and made me and my man-friends cry as we hugged each other in non-gay ways at the Clinton rally... I hate you all.

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, Trump has been very different so far. Usually, the President appoints one person from the other side to an agency their side doesn't care about to show how bipartisan they are. Then they start spewing fringe ideas. Trump's been very different. He's collecting people all across the spectrum and his ideas have largely been pretty centrist with an emphasis on economics and efficiency.

AndrewPrice said...

Koshcat, The Clinton people are whiny little turds. They will never accept that she lost and they don't care if they destroy the country in the process.

On the plus side, they've lost any ability they had to claim they care about election results.

AndrewPrice said...

Daniel, Trump is going to be interesting. He's using all their weapons against them and they are going insane.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Not only that, but the numbers they are using are based on polling that isn't really accurate.

AndrewPrice said...

I love it. Obama is now trying to shame the public for caring about the Wikileaks stuff. Right, because why would anyone care about the lies, corruption and abuses of people who want the take power in the US. Idiot.

Love this, of course. I would never write off Democrats entirely. It wasn't tat long ago I thought Republicans were dead. But right now, they are pathetic. A good year
