Warning!! What follows is a look into liberal minds as they process the newest NFL scandal: Funny-gate. Proceed with caution.

Hold everything! Cam Newton, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, said that it was "funny" hearing a woman talk about receivers running routes. This is sexism, pure and simple, which is worse than Hitler. And after careful consideration, I have concluded that such words are beyond the pale of human dignity and totally unacceptable in modern civilized society. Hence, anyone who says such things must be castrated and lynched. And if anyone else proposes worse then list me as proposing whatever they say plus a spanking just to show that I will not be bested when it comes to saving women from the deprivations of the occasional insult! Women are strong after all, and need to be protected from such things.

Yep. Castrate and then lynch Cam.

Oh crap. Wait, Cam's black. Hold the lynching. You can't lynch black people. That would be racist. What if we just whipped him like in 12 Years A Slave until... uh. No. Ok. We'll just ban him for life.

Hurray! Cam Newton is banned for life and I've shown my sanctimonious moral superiority. Feel my smug! Feel my smug!! I am an enlightened being, bitches!! No one will protect women from insults more powerfully than me because I know that it's our job to protect those delicate little flowers from insults so they don't cry and quit and whatever. Thank God you have my moral outrage to protect you little honeys.

Anyways, banned for life.

Hmm. On second thought, everyone deserves a second chance -- sometimes many of them. And wouldn't it be racist to ban Cam when white quarterbacks (honkeybacks) have said worse and weren't banned? Sure, I can't name any, but I'm sure it happened, and that sounds like discrimination. Isn't it just like the NFL to discriminate against blacks? What is wrong with you rich white people?

You know what? I think ultimately, the NFL caused this problem. They hire these kids out of black ghettos and then don't stop them from saying the kinds of things kids from black ghettos say -- "nigga" "bitch" and other things that would be hurtful if they were said by whites. And they definitely don't value their bitches. The NFL really needs to do something about that. Roger Goddell needs to start teaching these kids how to act in a civilized world... while respecting their culture of course.

In the meantime, I think we need to write articles condemning the NFL for acting too harshly without acting harshly enough and for causing this problem in the first place because these rightwing, white, Republican billionaires don't like women.

Anatomy of Failure

That past few years have seen lots of leftist "movements." Yet, none of these meant anything. Isn't that interesting?

● NFL Kneelers: Let's start with the most recent: the NFL kneelers. As you know a handful of NFL players have followed in the knee-pads of race baiting bench-warmer Colin Kapernick and decided to kneel during the national anthem to protest their hatred of the police in America, racism and whatever else they could think of. But their message has been lost (they've been whining about this a lot recently) and their protests have led to zero social change. Why?

Well, first, this protest drew an immediately backlash because fans were pissed that they had chosen to denigrate the national anthem to draw attention to themselves. Whoops. Rather than use their fame as football players and just hold press conferences, they made the decision to attack the national anthem to get noticed and the public responded angrily. See, the public doesn't like to see its traditions sh*t upon and it definitely doesn't like anyone denigrating all the people who have sacrificed for this country. Big mistake. This basically made it impossible for them ever to win the public.

Then Kapernick turned out to be a turd who praised Castro, called cops pigs and spewed a lot of false "facts" and hate. Moreover, half the kneelers couldn't even say why they were kneeling. Then they whined that no white players were supporting them, because you know... racism. Then they took Trump's bait and fired back at him, morphing the whole kneeling thing into an anti-Trump message. At that point, the NFL stepped in and changed the message again to the nebulous "unity." At this point, only a few hardcore types are still kneeling and no one knows what they really want. Even worse, they don't even have a plan for what they want if we choose to give it to them. The end result, this is a hated, directionless movement with no agenda to offer except "I'm angry at whites and cops." They're going nowhere.

● The Pussy Hat Protests: When the Pussy Hat brigade marched on Washington, it was immediately clear to me that they would amount to nothing. This was a group who wanted... uh... gurl power? R-E-S-P-E-C-T? not-Trump? Not sure. And that was the first problem: they had no idea what they wanted. They just wanted to protest that things weren't going the way they wanted. Some whined about the election. Hollywood chicks whined about not getting paid as much as male actors. Some rich white women whined about sexism keeping them down... somehow. Many whined about a nebulous lack of respect from men, even though they'd done nothing to earn it.

They had no platform. They had no agenda. They had no plan. The confused their personal failures with public policy. They didn't even have the intent to do anything. This was a group of women who stupidly think "raising awareness" of things like Breast Cancer is the same as solving the problem, and they had brought that worthless mentality with them. This was a group of achievement-less women who thought that whining that they wanted things to change was enough and now someone else would hand them all the things they wanted, even if they couldn't identify them. It never occurred to them that the people who get what they want need to work for it. So their movement collapsed as little more than a weekend tantrum.

● Black Lives Matter: Like the others, this group had everything going for them -- historical grievance, a willing media and Democrats happy to use them to keep blacks on the liberal plantation. What they lacked was any sense of judgment. First, rather than focusing on the couple of shootings of black men that brought sympathy, they focused on the thugs. This lost them the public. Then they refused to condemn the murder of cops. This angered the public. Add in that their demands were delivered in the most obnoxious of ways all-but designed to turn off white America. So the public not only rejected them, they did their best to actively show their support for the cops.

The one thing you have to give BLM, unlike the others, is that they actually had an agenda. The problem was that it's bat-shit crazy. Indeed, their massive manifesto covered dozens of whacko and offensive demands that were either intolerable off the bat or not relevant in any way to their cause, things like redistribution of wealth, pay raises and racial-based set asides. All of that is a nonstarter and their movement has been relegated to the fringes.

● OWS: Do you remember OWS? They were an astroturf "movement" created to give the left its own Tea party. The problem was that they had no idea what they wanted. All they knew was that they hated capitalism and America and they wanted everything changed... in some way. That's a non-starter with the public. Add in that this was a gang of spoiled college-students-for-life and professional "anarchists" (read: socialists) who came across as the very people you would never give power too. Then their protests devolved in homeless camps, rapes, and whining and people were done. The public's tolerance was expended without ever coming close to considering concessions.

Pretty much the only place leftist protests have brought any change is on colleges, where it was basically whiny leftist college kids giving a list of demands to leftist administrators, and even there almost no demands were met. In fact, the only place the students really won was the University of Missouri with its sympathetic administrators and that's been in slow-motion implosion ever since, with both black and white students fleeing.

This has been fascinating to me. The left has managed to turn out large numbers of its people, but their protests have been so incompetently handled that they not only achieved nothing, I would say they set the left back on issue after issue.

Count Our Blessings Day...

I was going to write about something else for today, but I think maybe we need a day to take a big breath and reflect. It seems as if there is just no good news right now and we can't blame everything on the media, Trump, Democrats, or Russia. I contribute this to not what is really happening, but that we spend so much time dissecting each syllable of each word on social media, that we miss the big picture.

I will assume since we all have internet service and all the modern electronics that come with with it, that we all have a roof over our heads, clothes to wear, plenty of food in our bellies, and loving family and friends who care. At least I hope you all do. Frankly, I am not completely convince that all of the hot air we create by constantly finding fault with everything isn't one of the main contributions to global warming...er...climate change. The Butterfly Effect in real time. There's so much pain in the world, maybe we can take a day to make it just a little less painful.

Let's just take a day and count our blessings. I'll start.

I have an infestation of mice. Okay, maybe that's not a positive, but at least they're cute and amazingly fast. I am fascinated at how fast mice are. If we could all move as fast as scared mice, we wouldn't need rockets. I realize I should be eeeeeeeeked out about these mice, but, what can I say. It's just life in the big city.

Of Whiners and Winners

Happy Monday!

● Update on the NFL. Wow, things have changed. Trump is still fanning the flames and the small cadre of race-baiting players are continuing their thing, but the NFL has found a solution. Rather than letting the protests happen randomly and control the agenda, team after team is now kneeling as a group before the anthem and then standing for the anthem. This has done several things. First, it has muddied the water as to what the protests mean because they describe this as being a message of "unity," whatever that means. In fact, the original protestors are all very pissed off that their message has been hijacked -- the original message, by the way, is one of racial division and spoils. Even the leftist media who were fanning the flames of this are stupidly repeating that this is a message of unity or an anti-Trump message. At this point, the original point is long lost. What's more, teams are now saying, "We had your protest, now let's focus on football." So look for the issue to shrink back down to only a handful of players no one is listening to.

Equally interestingly, despite this now being about unity, the fans are booing the players when they kneel. This is the fans expressing their dislike of the protests and the protestors.

Finally, the funniest aspect of this arose when the left starting asking themselves, "what do we do next?" Ha ha. It turns out that "raising awareness" isn't all that valuable after all.

● The left is desperate to equate Puerto Rico with Katrina. The problem is, there are no similarities except that the incompetent local officials are again Democrats. They're trying everything though: Trump is golfing instead of whatever he's supposed to be doing, Trump was unprepared, Trump didn't send the exact combination of ships I would have sent, Trump is leaving food and water on the docks un-distributed, and Trump said something nasty to a local mayor! Wahh. None of this is true. In fact, most unbiased experts are saying their preparations have been excellent and the problem is that the island has essentially be destroyed and doing anything is hard. As for the food on the docks, FEMA has pointed out that the commercial containers the rumormongers are pointing to do not belong to FEMA and that FEMA's stuff has been distributed. Still, that hasn't stopped the left from repeating it.

● So this leftist librarian at some elementary school tried to get famous by rejecting a gift of books from Melania Trump. She sneered at the Dr. Seuss books Melina sent as cliched and racist. Good grief. What's funny about this is that Michelle Obama used to go around reading Dr. Seuss books to kids. Hmm. I guess she's cool with racism.

● More Islamic terrorism. Islam: Killing the West 3-5 people a week.

● I've been reading the articles about Hugh Hefner by various people who knew him. It's funny. If you don't know any better, Hefner made his world sound like magic: a cool mansion designed for parties, a life awash in celebrities, surrounded by hot (if cheap) women. Hedonism in the lap of luxury.

Well, reading these articles has presented a very different picture. It's a picture of a dirty, beat up claustrophobic mansion, partiers being paid to attend parties, women who were there for the money and had to be forced to have sex, drugs, blackmail, and a world of no friends or decent people whatsoever. Hefner sounds like a control freak monster who needed to buy the sex he got and confused sex with love. He surrounded himself with courtiers to make himself feel important and loved. What a loser.

I don't think of Hefner as Satan. To me, he's a pathetic footnote to the cultural rot of the 1960's, but the things I'm reading remind me of the classic descriptions of hell very much. Indeed, as was said in The Lord of the Rings, Satan would appear fairer, but seem fouler. That's what this sounds like -- a shining mansion of pleasure on the hill led by a seemingly charismatic leader, which in reality is a corrupt, sclerotic nest filled with vipers. I'll take my family any day.

● Finally, I find the Megyn Kelly thing interesting. First, it was obvious to me that she had little talent at Fox. All she really offered was being abusive to guests to make her audience happy. Apparently, the NBC execs didn't get this. Secondly, the constant smears and attacks from the left remind us that (1) the left likes to destroy people it does not like no matter what they are doing, i.e. political or not, and (2) they will never forgive.

New York State Of Mind - The Corruption Continues...

Just to catch you up on what's been happening in NY because I know you love to hear about it. Our Mayoral elections are a little over 5 weeks away and, since I know that Deblasio will be re-elected I won't bore you with the details. And our gubenatorial elections start soon for 2018, so we all have that to look forward to.

So let me fill you in on the ongoing happendings in our corrupt state. I don't know if you remember, but I used to keep a list of NY elected officials who have been arrested, indicted, convicted, and/or sentenced, jailed, etc. I gave up trying to keep up because the list has grown so long at 41 it looks like there aren't any elected officials NOT on the take. Ues, even though our current Gov. Cuomo swore that he would be heavy on ethics reform, he dropped that just as soon as the investigations got too close to his office.
but that's all water under the crumbling Brooklyn Bridge. But there are a few updates, so let me fast-forward to 2017:

1.1. Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D) convicted of being a complete and utter perve. He was sentenced this week to 21 months in jail for sexting with an underage girl with an additional 3 years of court supervision probation. [Just as an aside: I don't think Weiner will ever see the inside of jail cell.]

2.1. Speaker of the Assembly Sheldon Silver (D) was arrested for multiple counts of bribery and corruption January 22, 2015. Case pending. UPDATE #1 - Sheldon Silver was convicted by a jury of his peers in a 5 week trial on all 7 counts on November 30, 2015 after 2 1/2 hours of deliberation over 3 days. He faces 130 years in jail. Appeal will be pending. UPDATE #2: Conviction overturned on Appeal on July 13, 2017.

3.1 Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R) (and his son) was arrested for corruption on May 4, 2015. Case pending. UPDATE - trial is ongoing and should go to the jury in a matter of weeks. UPDATE #2: Convicted on all counts in 2016; UPDATE #3: Conviction overturned on appeal on September 25, 2017.


It seems that no matter what we do, they keep getting away with it. Oh, the Feds swear they'll retry Silver and Skelos, but why bother. Corruption wins and most likely, both, will be reelected at some point. They don't have to live by the law 'cause they make the law.

7. State Assemblyman Nelson Castro (D) convicted of perjury (2013)

8. State Assemblyman Chris Ortloff (R) pleaded guilty to a felony charge of online enticement of minors for trying to have sex with a child after leaving his seat to become a member of the NYS Parole Board. He was sentenced to 150 months in federal prison (2010)

9. State Senator Shirley Huntley (D) convicted of mail fraud. She was sentenced to one year and a day in prison. (2013)

10. Majority Leader of the New York State Senate Pedro Espada Jr. (D) On May 14, 2012 a federal jury found Espada guilty of embezzling money from federally funded healthcare clinics, after 11 days of deliberation. (2012)

11. State Senator Vincent Leibell (R) found guilty of felony bribery, tax evasion, and obstruction of justice charges related to $43,000 in cash kickbacks he took from 2003 to 2006. (2012)

12. State Senator Nicholas Spano (R), convicted of federal income tax evasion. Spano pleaded guilty to the single felony. He was sentenced to 12 to 18 months in federal prison. (2012)

13. New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi (D), was convicted on charges surrounding a "pay to play" scheme regarding the New York State Pension Fund, and was sentenced to 1–4 years. (2011)

14. State Senator Carl Kruger (D) resigned his seat and pled guilty to charges of corruption and bribery. (2011)

15. State Senator Efrain Gonzalez Jr. (D) was convicted of fraud and embezzling $400,000 from the West Bronx Neighborhood Association Inc. and was sentenced to seven years in federal prison (2010)

15. State Health Commissioner Antonia Novello (R) pled guilty to costing the taxpayers $48,000 by making her staff carry out personal chores for her such as taking her shopping and picking up her dry cleaning. Her plea deal calls for 250 hours of community service at an Albany health clinic, $22,500 in restitution and a $5,000 fine. (2009)

16. Mayor of Mount Vernon Ernie Davis (D) was convicted on federal misdemeanor tax evasion. (2014)

17. New York City Councillor Dan Halloran (R) convicted of taking bribes and orchestrating payoffs. (2014)

18. New York City Councillor Larry Seabrook (D) On February 9, 2010, a federal grand jury indicted Seabrook on 13 counts of money laundering, extortion, and fraud. Seabrook was convicted on 9 charges (2012).

19. President of the New York City council Andrew Stein (D) was convicted of tax evasion regarding a Ponzi scheme (2010).

20. State Representative Anthony Seminerio (D) pled guilty to taking large sums of money from hospitals through a consulting firm while still a member of the New York State Assembly. His appeal was never heard but his conviction was abated due to death. (2009)

21. Supreme Court Justice Thomas J. Spargo (R), was convicted by a federal jury of attempted extortion and attempted soliciting of a bribe for pressuring a lawyer to give $10,000 to his defense fund. (2009)

22. State Senator Efrain Gonzalez (D) was sentenced to 84 months (7 years) in prison, followed by two years supervised release, following pleading guilty to two conspiracy counts and two wire fraud counts. (2009)

23. Majority Leader of the New York State Senate Joseph Bruno (R) was convicted on two counts of wire fraud. (2009) Update: Exonerated of all charges on appeal (2014).

24. State Representative Brian McLaughlin (D) was arrested in 2008 and sentenced to ten years in prison for racketeering.(2009)

25. State Senator Hiram Monserrate (D), convicted of one count of misdemeanor assault, and acquitted of two counts of felony assault and one other count of misdemeanor assault. (2009)

26. State Representative Gloria Davis (D) was sentenced to 90 days in jail and five years probation for bribery. (2003)

27. State Senator Guy Velella (R) was indicted for bribery and conspiracy for accepting at least $137,000 in exchange for steering public-works contracts to the paying parties.[179] He ultimately pleaded guilty to one count and received a year in jail. He served 182 days. (2002)

28. New York City Councillor Miguel Martinez (D) pleaded guilty to three counts of conspiracy two days later. Martinez admitted to stealing $106,000 that was for children's art programs and low-income housing.[181] Martinez was convicted on three felonies, and was sentenced to five years in prison. (2009)

Strange World

Ya know, the more I look at the world around us, the stranger is appears.

● The NFL protest movement was dead. It never got above about a 100 players. The owners largely disallowed it behind the scenes. The fans fought back. The open protestors were becoming increasingly desperate that no one supported them or cared what they had to say. And then Moron Trump decides to pick a fight with this nearly dead movement. So now hundreds of players have signed up. Some owners stood with the players. The league re-affirmed that whining about leftist crap is a right under their CBA. Gee, thanks Trump. BTW, Drudge somehow thinks Trump is winning, but as is so often the case, he doesn't know anything.

● Hillary continues to show just how out of touch and useless she is. Interestingly, her pollster blasted her this weekend, claiming she failed to run a competent campaign despite getting all the advice she needed to do so - an opinion which was already kind of obvious. Then George Clooney blasted her this week as a bad candidate who he realized just wasn't a good communicator and who failed to step up her game. I get that the pollster is trying to salvage his rep and Clooney is trying to convince his donor circle that they can trust him next time, but all of this really just shows that Hillary is incompetent and everyone on the left knew it too.

● Obamacare. Obamcare. Ug. A new plan appears to repeal Obamacare, and the usual suspects strike. Paul Rand declares that fate is in the stars and thus be he forbade from supporting this noxious potion lest ephemeral change be made. John McCain, true to character, immediately tries to destroy his allies and give aid and comfort and a little love to his enemies. Susan Collins of Maine says, "Oh, is it my turn to waffle? I do love waffling. I can support this... unless I can't." And now Ted Cruz joins the fun, "God ain't said this bill is perfect and I don't vote unless it's perfect." The GOP is simply incapable of doing anything, and these are your culprits. It's like a collection of mental patients.

● Maureen Dowd let slip this weekend the reason the media is piling on about "fake ads" on Facebook from Russian sources. At first, this seemed to be part of the anti-Trump attack, but Dowd let slip that this is actually an attack on Mark Zuckerberg to beat him up before he tries to run for President. Clearly, they fear him and they fear that he's on the right. Watch for more of this.

● The "far right" (read nationalist) party in German has made it into their parliament for the first time since Hitler. Not coincidentally, someone paid more than $6,000 for a pair of Hitler's underwear at auction. I suspect that all the German parties will mishandle this. The SPD (center left) seems to want to vanish until this issue is over.

● Long Duk Dong in North Korea seems incapable of rational thought. I'm thinking China snuffs him soon. Both China and Paper Tiger Putin have moved combat troops to the area.

● Every Democrat in California is now promising a single payer health plan even though it's impossible for rational people to see the problems with it.

Cotton, Confederates, & Other Social Media Craziness...

Stuff like this just keeps happening.

So, in a Hobby Lobby somewhere in time and space devoid of rational thought, this happened. You must know Hobby Lobby by now. It's a giant craft supply chain store that carries pretty much any kind of stuff to make crafty stuff. So, amongst the crafty craft-making supplies, they sell stuff to make flower arrangments. And one of those flower arrangement making things were stalks of raw cotton. [Here's a LINK for this stupid story from the NY Post.] But just to recap, a woman got triggered 'cause cotton means slaves and stuff.

But what really brought my attention to this latest triggering outrage is this great video by Chris Prather, also know as Political Cowboy posted on Facebook in response...[never heard of him before, btw]



I agree with him. All of this faux outrage to inanimate objects is just getting old.

And then there's this...The Mayor of Dallas Mike Rawlings along with a group of other brainiacs decided it was time to remove a little known statue of Robert E. Lee that had been in some park in Dallas since the beginning of time and has now become offensive. It cost $450,000 to remove it that could have fed, clothed or housed live humans, but no. Let's waste money that the city doesn't have because it's going bankrupt to remove an inanimate hunk of marble that's only danger is that it might fall on someone.

But I have to give props to some brave soul, Ken Green, who decided to do an ancestry check on Mayor Rawlings' ancestors...yep, there were many slave owners and at least one who served in the Confederate Army. Mr. Green ended by calling on Mayor Rawlings to resign.

Question

Hi everybody! Thanks for all your kind wishes and emails and the such. I appreciate them very much and I really do hope to be back at the blog soon. In the meantime, let me ask a question.

What the heck is Hillary doing? Wow.

1. She is casting blame at dozens of people who are so far out of the news cycle as to be forgotten. It's like old timer's day. "I remember when..."

2. She chose the day of the hurricane and the NFL opening day to launch her attack on Trump. Talk about drowning yourself in a wave of distraction. "Seriously, stop looking at the monster wave and listen to me!"

3. Her attacks have been pathetic. They've been along the line of "Here's what I would have said if I'd thought about it at the time." Pathetic.

4. And why announce that she's not ever going to be a candidate again and then put out this book? Is she relevant or not?

5. Finally, why attack the Electoral College today? That sounds like delayed, confused sour grapes. Too little... too late... too yesterday.

This has really been surreal to watch. Thoughts?

The Terms Of Our Surrender In New York

Today we held our NYC Primary for upcoming Mayoral elections. Sadly for us, it is only a matter of how much Mayor DeBlasio wins the nomination rather than "If". I surrender to the fact that NYC is doomed to have another 4 years of him.

The only possible positive is that we will get a brand spanking new City Council since all of the members are termed out. The general election in November is when we will find out if we'll be hosting more or less parades for terrorists who have bombed our city. Well, at least we will know that our Mayor will continue to be late for appointments, berate us for driving while not taking public transportation himself as he is driven 20 miles every morning to his Brooklyn gym to work out, and can always be found every afternoon napping with a "Do Not Disturb" edict to his staff. Oh, and the homeless population will continue to grow.

- This ought to amuse you. Michael Moore opened his one-person show "The Terms Of My Surrender" in Broadway's Belasco Theatre in August 10 (July 30 - Aug 10 previews) to much fanfare. He delighted his first week's audiences with bus trips to Trump Tower so everyone could protest and hot vendors for free eats! Ain't that great? Well, unfortunately after the bus trips stopped (and the free tickets to paper the house dried up), there is also no audience to listen to Mr. Moore rant about, well, everything you'd expect.

One of the real reasons for the low ticket sales doesn't take a genius to figure out. Most of the sales come from tourists. And with the non-Hamilton ticket prices averaging about $150 bucks a ticket, they want to be entertained, not preached to. [FYI - Ticket prices for "Hamilton" go for approximately $500-890]

Frankly,there should be a sign on either end of the block this show is on declaring "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." Ironically or by design, the new British play "1984" is runing right next door at the Hudson Theatre which is literally causing audience members to faint, vomit, and scream at the actors from their seats. Of course, it could be the ticket prices too. I read the book, I don't need to see this.

- Oh, since she does live in NY and all, I must mention Hillary Clinton's new book "What Happened" released on Tuesday! If you have been keeping up, she has compiled a million and one reasons why she lost in November, though interestingly very few include Clinton herself. Here's a list from the NY Daily News (and they supported her):

1. Bernie Sanders, for attacks on the campaign trail that “caused lasting damage” to her run. The Vermont senator — who famously gave Clinton a huge break by saying he wouldn’t focus on her “damn emails” — “had to resort to innuendo and impugning my character.” “It was beyond frustrating that Bernie acted as if he had a monopoly on political purity,” she wrote.

2. “Bernie Bros” for “harassing my supporters online” with attacks that were “ugly and more than a little sexist.”

3. Green Party Candidate Jill Stein, who “wouldn’t be worth mentioning” had she not taken tens of thousands of votes in swing states that Trump won. There "were more than enough Stein voters to swing the result, just like Ralph Nader did in Florida and New Hampshire in 2000."

4. “Sexism and misogyny,” which led to the victory of a “flagrantly sexist candidate.”

5. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian hackers, for working “to influence our election and install a friendly puppet.”

6. Former President Barack Obama, for not giving a national television address about the Russian hacking so that “more Americans would have woken up.” Also, for telling her to go easy on Sanders, which made her feel like she was “in a straight jacket.”

7. Former Vice President Joe Biden, for saying the Democratic Party “did not talk about what it always stood for" after campaigning for her.

8. Former FBI Director James Comey, for turning her campaign “upside down” in its final days with his renewed email investigation. “Was this a bad joke?” she writes. “What the hell was Comey doing?”
9. Anthony Weiner, whose teenage sexting scandal led to Comey's new probe, and to his wife and Clinton aide Huma Abedin yelling out, "This man is going to be the death of me!"

10. Clinton’s own statement about putting coal miners out of business, which Trump repeatedly used against her and she says was the campaign moment she “regret(s) the most.”

11. Her “basket of deplorables” statement about Trump’s supporters, which was “a political gift” to her opponent. People "misunderstood me to be criticizing all Trump voters."

12. Her use of a private email server as secretary of state, which she deems “dumb” in retrospect.

13. The ongoing scandal that erupted from her email use, which she deems “even dumber.”

14. The New York Times, for focusing on her emails in reporting that "affected the outcome of the election."

15. Her “traditional” presidential campaign, which was based on “carefully thought-out policies and painstakingly built coalitions” that could not compete with Trump’s “reality TV show that expertly and relentlessly stoked Americans' anger and resentment."

16. The “godforsaken” Electoral College, which went to Trump even though Clinton crushed him in the popular vote by nearly three million votes.

17. Herself, for not realizing “how quickly the ground was shifting under our feet” in the national mood.

18. Hillary hate. "I have come to terms with the fact that a lot of people — millions and millions of people — decided they just didn’t like me,” Clinton writes — though she doesn’t understand the dislike. “What makes me such a lightning rod for fury? I’m really asking . . . I’m at a loss.”

The list is just keeps growing and growing. The really good news is that, if you wait long enough...like 'til the end of the week, you may be able to get a "buy 5/get 5 free" deal just in time to pass out for Halloween to scare the kiddies! [Okay, that went too far...]

9/11/2001 Open Thread

It is hard to believe that 16 years have passed since the 9/11/2001 terrorist attack. I am not really big on reliving that day since I lived it it up-close and personal, but know that much progress has been made and the WTC is up and running like it use to be.

It's funny what one remembers, so let me share this one memory. It was a beautiful, cool morning on 9/11/2001 at around 7am. It was the first after a long, hot sweaty summer. It was one of those mornings that it was hard to get out of bed because it was just so cool and comfortable. Because the weather was so perfect that morning, the radio broadcaster on my local radio station said what would turn out to be these fateful words when giving the weather report:

"There is no other way to say it...it's gonna be perfect day"

Tragically, it was not.

Read Any Good Books Lately?

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. But now that Summer has official ended, and the kids are back in school, we need fresh topics to discuss.

Hmmm, anyone read any good books lately? I am reading "Burr" by Gore Vidal. I found it in the trash outside my building along with several other Vidal's books. Personally, I think people who throw books in the trash are evil, but in this case I am glad I found this stack. I have never read any of Vidal's novels and I must say, he is an wonderful writer. And
I have to add that, since everyone is obsessing over Alexander Hamilton the man and the musical, what a stroke of luck that fate stepped in with a free book about Aaron Burr.

Though it is an historical novel, Vidal paints a really interesting word-picture of the life and times of post-Revolution New York and our 3rd Vice President Aaron Burr. I knew very little about the man who shot Hamilton in a duel or Gore Vidal's writing, so I guess I will have to forgive the person who tossed these out. And for good measure, I took a little stroll to Trinity Church graveyard and paid my respects to Alexander Hamilton just in case he's still mad about the whole being shot dead and all.

So, that's all I've got. Does anyone have anything?

More Thoughts

Look out world, here come more thoughts!

(1) I'm still loving seeing all the good people helping out with the hurricane. I saw a miles-long line of guys with boats going down the highway toward Texas. There is a Pizza Hut store using kayaks to deliver free pizzas. JJ Watts made his $3 million goal so he increased it to $10 million. Everywhere you look, people are helping and trying to prevent this from becoming a massive tragedy.

(2) The firing of this cop in Texas (along with the attack on Trump for "there are good people on both sides") shows that we've entered a period where facetious comments and platitudes are now being taken literally to get people. Take the cop's comment. He pulls over a woman who had bought into all this BS about cops shooting people and she tells him she is afraid to be shot. The cop facetiously responds to this idiocy by telling her not to worry because cops only shoot black people. OUTRAGE!! He's a racist who wants to kill blacks and he admitted it!!! Said his commander upon firing him:

"I have known Lt. Abbott for years and perceived him as honorable, but he's made a mistake. I don't know what is in his heart, but I know what came out of his mouth."

Wow. So you've known this guy for years and yet you aren't sure if he was being facetious in facing a ridiculous charge or if he really might mean that he shoots black motorists. Wow. You're a cop and yet you don't know enough about a long-term employee to know that? You need to resign right now, Sherlock. Are there a rash of unexplained black motorist shootings in his jacket? Pathetic. It's even more pathetic to fire him for saying this. This wasn't racist. It wasn't a threat. It was a mocking of a politicized view aimed at his entire profession. That's worth firing him, huh?

(3) According to some researcher a 7% spike in road deaths last year is the result of Global Warming. How? Well, aliens come down and give people the old finger wave, which is distracting and they careen into on-coming traffic... uh, oops. That's the "aliens cause it" theory. The "global warming causes it" theory is a tad more confused. Apparently, warmer weather makes people want to be out on the roads during rain storms, adding an extra sixty miles to their yearly travel.

"The correlation of mileage and temperature suggests a classic vicious circle whereby higher temperatures equal more miles driven, leading to more CO2 emissions, which in turn lead to higher temperatures."

And that is why Global Warming Research is such a joke. They see two numbers that go in the same direction no matter how briefly and they stupidly assume causation without even a hint of a legitimate attempt to factor out other causes... like lower gas prices causing the driving increase. This study was also done of one year's statistics (2015), which is a ridiculously short time to do a study of traffic patterns -- global warming supposedly has been happening since (fill in the blank), why was this the first year to show this relationship? How could a rational person think the one year standing alone proves anything? Heck, they even include assumptions about the rich being better able to handle this because poor people were more likely to die... because their cars suck. Never mind that poor people are more likely to drive more when gas prices drop.

Talk about shoty "research" all around! This is why Global Warming Research is crap.

(4) Finally, I was trying to think of a good salad bar in this town the other day and I literally could come up with nothing. Has the age of the salad bar ended? Give me some help here, people. Where do you go for a good salad bar?

Hurricane of Stupidity

So I'm watching the hurricane coverage and my gag reflex keeps being activated. Some people are truly pathetic.

(1) First, the Trump criticism is laughable. He has done what every prior President except Obama has done. He declared an emergency to free up money and personnel. He gave a brief speech of condolence. When things cleared enough that he wouldn't be a problem, he visited. The left, however, smeared him for "doing so much" in the hopes of using the hurricane politically, "not doing enough" in some nebulous way which always mentioned Katrina, and the ever popular "not caring." He has also been accused of doing news dumps during the hurricane and of posting images that weren't somber enough.

On the somber account, Melanie was accused of wearing heels when she went with Trump to see the damage. This is what matters now? Just like one of Trump's cabinet people's wives wore designer clothes on her last trip on Air Force One and the envious left lost their little minds. Ivanka posted some lovely cards she had received rather than images showing her weeping into mud over Houston, and she's being savaged for not being compassionate.

Let me point something out to the left: You idiots praised how stylishly Madame O supposedly dressed even in disasters. You were fine with photos of Obama's kids at rock concerts during times of crisis. I see no similar objection to all the celebrities who attended parties, beaches, and fashion shows last weekend. I also see no mention of all the good deeds by people like JJ Watts. It's funny how some loser Hollywood type wears a cheap pin on their lapel as they go snort their way through some Hollywood A-list bacchanal and you praise them for showing their support, but you ignore JJ collecting $3 million or the deeds of other non-liberals.

Finally let me point out that Obama himself only cared about disasters when they affected people who shared his skin tone. Nashville... Kansas... dead silence.

(2) Hurricanes, like other natural disasters, really should shake the belief system of people who want to believe that we can control anything we want. You know the types. They watch stupid movies and then assumes that teams of omni-competent government officials can do anything they want as if they were using magic. Then they whine about real life failures using the films as their basis of reality. Idiots. Moments like this hurricane should remind us that humans are at the mercy of mother nature, not the other way around.

(3) That said, I love seeing the tens of thousands of people who are determined to help out in real ways (not celebrities wearing pins). These are people who are going to the affected areas to save people, to restore order, and to rebuild the things mother nature has destroyed. Humanity, especially Americans, can be so incredible when the time comes!

(4) Finally, some personal good news. My heart function has improved significantly since I switched heart pills! That's amazingly good news!

Interesting Contradictions

Howdy folks! Just some thoughts on the media as I’m still dealing with this annoying leg issue.

According to Newsweek, support for Trump’s impeachment grew this month to “its highest level yet at 40%.” I find that interesting as I’ve been told dozens of times already that support for impeachment was far beyond 50% or even 60%.

Do you think the MSM is lying to us?

During the Charlottesville “outrage” which the GOP won’t stop clobbering themselves with, I saw that Trump’s popularity fell to “its lowest point yet”... just below W. Bush’s popularity. Again, this is interesting as I’ve heard for months how no one has ever been less popular.

Yahoo proclaimed last week that no matter what Trump does, Obamacare isn’t failing and won’t fail. That’s interesting since they spent the month prior screaming how Obamacare would fail unless Trump fixed it.

Maybe Yahoo should stick to exposing fat transgender chicks shaming each other over parent shaming. Seriously, things have gotten so bad that according to Yahoo, “even Wonder Woman gets body shamed.” Uh, yeah, by the “body positive” chicks.

Trump has handled Hurricane Harvey rather well, yet the MSM has simultaneously claimed that he hasn’t done enough and that he’s doing so much because he’s “grandstanding.” They are also describing every photo of something partially submerged in water as “Katrina like.” Katrina-like? Really? I guess I missed the part where the poor neighborhoods in Texas ignored evacuation orders and then began raping and murdering each other for fun as the state’s Democratic Governor pointed fingers at everyone else while failing to request Federal aid. But then, I haven’t been paying that much attention.

The NAACP is going to boycott the NFL (yawn... sorry) over the Colin (yaaaawn) Kaepernick situation. Good luck with that. I’m sure all ten of you will make quite a dent in the NFL’s ratings.

Finally, I watched the Mayweather v. McGregor fight. It was definitely entertaining. My professional opinion is that McGregor can’t box and Mayweather is too old to box. As spectacles go, however, it was fun and they did an amazing job building this into an event – I never would have ordered anything pay-per-view otherwise.

Ultimately, I think they got exactly the ending they wanted. McGregor can claim that he can box (he lasted 10 rounds) and that he would have won if he had been allowed to continue. Mayweather can claim that he beat McGregor and it would have gotten worse if allowed to continue. Box continues to claim its status as superior to MMA, but MMA can claim to be nearly on the level now with boxing. Everyone wins. Don’t be surprised if one day we learn this fight was fixed. For now though, it was just a lot of fun.

As If Things Aren't Stupid Enough...Hold My Beer! UPDATED

So as if things aren't stupid enough, well, as they say "hold my beer". Even in New York City, the center of diversity and civility [Stop laughing!!!], we have jumped on the "Let's Destroy Historical Monuments To Make Us Feel Better" train. If you have been paying attention for the last week (or months or years) or so, you will know that Robert E. Lee, is now the most hated figure in the US.

It has gotten so stupid that ESPN removed a sport commentator from a college football game broadcast because his name was Robert Lee so as not to cause offense.

This is the ESPN Robert Lee they removed:

Well, like many other place in the US, Mayor DeBlasio announced a few days ago that there would be a 90 day "review" of which statues in New York City should possibly be removed because they may be offensive now that we are just so much more enlightened. [Also, our mayoral election is in November, so he has to pander] Some suggested Ulysses S. Grant because as General of the Union Army, he issued an order removing all Jews from Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. [The good news is that maybe that age old question of "who is buried in Grant's tomb" will finally be answered!] And, of course, there is the ubiquitous cry to remove the stain of that great Italian icon Christopher Columbus. As a matter of fact, most of New York's greatest statued men in our fair city are up for destruction because we have come to understand in hindsight that they were not perfect. I know, hard to believe, isn't it?

And yes, even in New York City, there are also a few places where even Robert E. Lee, the son of Revolutionary War General and Virginia Governor Henry "Harry Lighthorse" Lee, has been honored. In the last week, West Point Military Academy where Lee graduated at the top of his class, has requested at the behest of NY Sen. Kristen Gillibrand and NY Rep. Sean Patrick Mahoney [UPDATED] to remove his name from all of the halls and barracks that bore his name. And St. John’s Episcopal Church in Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, removed a plaque from a tree in the churchyard commemmorating Lee's service when stationed as a military engineer from 1842 to 1847. The sad part is most likely no one actually knew any of these commemorations were there.

All of this stupidity is because studying history has become in and of itself a trigger for some "-ist" or another. Too many just do not understand that humans are complicated and complex. Great people have done bad things and bad people have done great things. Therefore historical events and people get complicated when viewed through the lense of a modern eye. It is important to remember that we can only judge these people from a lens focused clearly within their individual historical context and circumstances and never from our own modern context or circumstances. No person could possibly be perfect enough to survive that level of scrutiny. We cannot change history, we can only learn from it, but destroying all signs of our history does not erase it either.

This isn't new. This particular idea of destruction has happened over and over throughout human history, though most wouldn't know it because it would trigger their triggers. But, if we learn nothing else, it must be that we must study history and learn from it, otherwise it has a nasty way of repeating itself over and over and over.

Sorry About The Lack of Posts

Hi everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts. I'm still dealing with the leg issue. My leg blistered up all around and those broke open, so much of my lower leg is open wounds right now. Hence, I've been on a LOT of pain pills and haven't been able to focus on doing any writing. I'll get back to it soon. Here are some thoughts for today.

(1) Trump Pattern: All of the attacks on Trump are starting to take on a pattern. It reminds me of an echo. Someone screams, you get an immediate loud echo from the echo chamber. Then for several days thereafter, you keep getting the echo shouting back, but each shout is less than the shouts before it. Eventually, the sound wave passes and all goes quiet again. At that point, you get the lament "how can Trump still be in power?"/"why isn't he being impeached?" That's when you know it's completely over.

(2) Eclipse today. Doesn't that mean that the Black Death is coming? Or Satan is born? Something evil, right?

(3) I see that the anti-Confederate statute orgy is spreading. In Baltimore they removed a Supreme Court Justice because he issued a racist decision (here's a clue: they all did at one time or another). They are targeting Teddy Roosevelt because he said the white race is the forward race. Washington and Jefferson are targets because they owned slaves. Anyone connected to Indian killing/deportation, slavery, "oppression" of women, internment of Japanese will soon be fair game. Basically, we're going to remove all the monuments to Democrats. They are removing the founder of modern gynecology because experimented on black women. Of course the problem is that you can find a reason to remove anyone, so soon we will be a land without statues or street names.

Bonfire Of The Vanities - Take 2

I know that it's popular these days to compare the last few months to Germany 1930's, but that is getting kind of boring. Instead, let me compare it to a summer's day...wait, that's not right. Oh, yeah, let's use the late 1490's in Florence Italy [Oh, Lord, not Italy again...]. Now this was another time of extreme craziness called the Bonfire of the Vanities - the burning of objects condemned by authorities as "occasions of sin "like Boticelli paintings showing naked people and stuff like that. Many were convinced that the Medici family was evil as they were bankers (though not Jewish ones who were more evil) and all things deemed decadent should be destroyed. So fast forward, replace "Medici" with "Trump" (or "Hitler", but never "Stalin", or "Mao" or "Pol Pot", or "Chavez") and you have the 2017 version. LINK to Wiki explanation...

Well, as of today, it seems that we're moving into full-blown Bonfire of the Vanities craziness. It has now gotten to the point where statues are being attacked, destroyed, removed. It is becoming all so very Shakespearean (except he was about 100 years later and which brought on more crazies who outlawed theatre, but LOVED beheadings/civil war! But I digress). First it was a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee in some town (the video-streaming perps have been arrested), and then someone vandalized the Lincoln Memorial in DC. Can't figure out why, but then perhaps these ignorant fools mistook Lincoln Memorial for the Jefferson Memorial (known slave owner). I can't wait for them to realize that the land where DC was once part of slave-owner George Washington's property and that Arlington Cemetary was once owned by Gen. Lee's wife's family and seized byt the Union. Oh, and that President General Ulysses S. Grant owned slaves too...there goes "Who Is Buried In Grant's Tomb" jokes!

And now for the next outrage: Trump had the audacity to actually removed this Citi-bike rack (see photo below) that Pres. Obama installed on the WH grounds. [Okay, I don't think that Obama actually lifted it off the truck himself nor do I believe that Trump helped lift it onto a truck while laughing maniacly, but from the number of tweets, maybe he did!] Anyhow, if you don't know what these are, they are commercial rent-a-bike racks open to the public that rent bikes by the 1/2 hour fee. One can return the bike to any of these racks around the city. Oh, and if you're all ickey about corporate welfare, this is a great example of it...all subsidized by the local tax-payers. Oh, and did you notice where this rack that was removed was placed?

Notice the sign that say "Restricted Area" and notice where the bike rack is. How is "the public" supposed to use that rack exactly?
Hey, maybe it was moved because it was just pointless virtue-signalling from our former administration. I bet Trump is changing the color scheme in the Oval Office too. Probably to gold...no, I don't mean comedy gold. I mean real gold. He does that...

So let's end this with a very pointed question. This could mean the beginning or end or something in the middle. Happier Than A Pig In Sh*t

My dad has an expression for someone who is far too happy about something that you wouldn't normally think would make someone happy: "They're happier than a pig in sh*t." It strikes me that statement applies to the left over Charlottesville. Here are some thoughts.

● I have to say that I haven't seen the leftist media and political class this happy in some time. It's funny. They aren't dismayed. They aren't outraged or shocked. Nope. They are borderline giddy about what they see as an opportunity to exploit, especially when that guy drove into the crowd. They are happier than pigs in sh*t. I find that rather sick... but hardly unexpected.

● It's funny too how I don't see the word "allegedly" anywhere in their articles or warnings that we need to be cautious about his motives. I guess that really does only apply to Muslim terrorists.

● For the record, I don't care about any of this. I really don't. This stuff has gotten tiring. Tiny groups of impotent fringe retards protest and counter-protest and someone gets hurt. Yawn. If you play in this game of losers, then you have no right to whine when you get hurt. This is the political version of Crips versus Bloods, and whining that one of yours got killed in a drive-by is disingenuous. Frankly, I'd like to see them both kill each other off.

● Of course, the left wants you to believe this is somehow normal. Hillary Clinton actually cackled, "If this isn't America, let's prove it." Wow. So Hillary thinks this is America? Well, don't ever tell me she doesn't hate America again. And for the record, hag, let me point out that this rally was so tiny that you can't even compare it statistically against America. In what MSNBC called "the largest gathering of its kind in decades," they said that "hundreds of racists" marched. So statistically, for each of these assh*les, there are roughly one million average Americans who did not attend or support this rally in any way. How in the world can something that is one in a million be considered representative? If Hillary were at all genuine, she would be celebrating the fact that this in no way represents America. But she wants it to exploit it... racial fear sells to her peeps.

● Of course, the usual suspects are attacking Trump as if he sponsored this. Ridiculous. His statement against the white racists and condemning the violence apparently wasn't strong enough in their eyes. That's a BS basis to accept as criticism though because there's nothing he could have said they wouldn't find fault with. That's just the game they play. As an aside, isn't it funny how they never blamed Obama for all the things that happened under his watch? Hypocrites.

Google's Ideological Echo Chamber - How bias clouds our thinking about diversity and inclusion

This was written by James Demore, 28 year old Harvard Phd. in "Systems Biology" and, as of yesterday, no longer an Engineer for Google. Please read it if you have not already, and let's discuss. I have read it several time and am still trying to find what he wrote that is so horrible that women at Google had to take the day off because they feared for...I have no idea or that it required that Google Management dismiss him immediately. It all seemed very reasonable and very centrist to me. His entire premise is summed up thusly:

I hope it’s clear that I'm not saying that diversity is bad, that Google or society is 100% fair, that we shouldn't try to correct for existing biases, or that minorities have the same experience of those in the majority. My larger point is that we have an intolerance for ideas and evidence that don’t fit a certain ideology. I’m also not saying that we should restrict people to certain gender roles; I’m advocating for quite the opposite: treat people as individuals, not as just another member of their group (tribalism).

The Debacle that is "Natasha Pierre And The Great Comet of 1812"

This is a musical based on Leo Tolstoy's "War & Peace" (yeah, I know...) that opened in Off-Broadway in 2012 and moved to Broadway in November 2016 with pop opera singer Josh Grobin in the lead. With rave reviews, 12 Tony nominations AND Josh Grobin, one would think it would be a runaway hit. In February, it was announced that Grobin would be leaving the show in July and replaced for a limited appearance by one of the stars of "Hamilton" Okieriete Onaodowan (he originated the role of James Madison). Well, tickets sales have not been so good since he started, so as producers do, they announced that they would not be extending Mr. Onaodowan's run and would be replacing him with Broadway legend Mandy Patinkin hoping this would increase ticket sales.

well, one would think that the producers had decided instead to replace the entire show with an all-white version of "Raisin In The Sun"! How dare they replace a black actor with a white actor! "Outrageous!" they screamed from the rafters! So after all of the sound and fury that this caused, Patinkin gracefully declined to replace Onaodowan. Also as a result of the racist pile-on, the show will now be closing September 3. This is just stupid. This is how it works for producers...their job to get butts in the seats to make money for their investors and to be able to pay the cast/crew/ushers etc. for as long as they can. Onaodowan was not doing that so they decided to do what producers have done since the beginning of time....GET A REALLY BIG SUPERDUPER LEGENDARY BROADWAY STAR LIKE MANDY PATINKIN TO FILL THE SEATS!!!! They didn't realize that once you replace a white actor with a black actor, you can never go back to a white actor even if it's FREAKIN' MANDY PATINKIN!!!
