Some Things That Made Me Say "Wow!"

Wow, there is nothing to talk about in the news. Seriously, let’s bomb something or ban something just to end this blogging drought! Oh well... the show must go on. so here are some random thoughts on things I’ve come across that made me say "WOW!" and not in a good way.

Bad Form Hillary: Hillary Clinton just gave a speech to 1,200 losers... uh, fast food workers, in which she pushed the idea of the $15 minimum wage and she encouraged these lazy slugs to get out there and pimp for her. Two problems. First, she gave the speech by phone. Seriously. The woman has no judgment whatsoever. Here she is addressing a large group that she apparently sees as the focal point of her pointless campaign and she can’t even be bothered to show up in person! Wow! What a dipship!

The second problem, by the way, is that she’s looking for help from people who have proven that they lack motivation, foresight and the work ethic needed to build a career. That’s a bit like going to a donut shop to find a team of anorexics.

What a Whiny Load of Crap: Did you know that politicians give advice at college graduations? Did you also know that most of it is retarded? Yeah, it is. But one really stands out as self-pitying BS. Madame Obama just gave a speech at Tuskegee University in which she not only demonstrated that she has taken every single insult ever aimed at her personally... because she has a very thin skin, but that she views all of it as racism. Apparently, any criticism of her is race based. But that’s ok because she realized she just had to tune it out and “have faith in God’s plan for me.” Thank you Madame Santorum. Anyways, I didn’t know there was room for a deity in the Obama pantheon of the universe, but I did realize long ago that Madame Obama views the world as racially offensive. Anything she doesn’t like is because of racism. Wow!

Well, let me be clear. I don’t dislike Madame Obama because she’s black. No. I dislike her because she’s a hate-filled, racist, entitled asshole.

Self-Aggrandizement Much?: Elizabeth “Fake Injun” Warren was busy describing her struggles to protect us all through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. As is typical, she is all hyperbole and bullship. She said this:
“People like me were pushed against the walls like we were invisible. The most powerful lobbyists in Washington — they thought they would eat us for lunch. And sometimes, when I was pushed up against those walls, I thought they might just do it. But I didn’t back down and neither did anyone else.”
Wow! First of all, being pushed up against the wall implies a threat. In fact, when Warren’s commie friends pushed people up against the wall in other countries, those people usually died a few seconds later. So the analogy is wildly stupid and probably shameful. But more to the point, what exactly did Fake Injun do with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau? Oh, that’s right... she did jack... nada... zip. So take a bow Sitting Bullship because you are delusional all around.

Journalist Demonstrates Stupidity... Film At 11: Rick Perry got into an interesting discussion with John Dickerson of CBS. This discussion proved both that Perry gets it and Dickerson is clueless. What happened is that Perry denounced the punishing effects of the Dodd-Frank bill on small business while also attacking Wall Street Banks for continuing to get special treatment. Said Perry,
“We’re fed up when we see Wall Street get treated specially and you can’t even get a loan from your community bank because of Dodd-Frank banking regulations. All that has to change. Americans are fed up with that type of inside, where the rich get richer and folks out on Main Street have to pay bills.”
Dickerson then asked what Perry would do about Wall Street and he said he would regulate them to make sure “if they make bad decisions, let them live with those bad decisions, don’t bail them out.” Ergo, Perry gets it.

Clueless John then asked: “But isn’t that what Dodd-Frank is, regulations? You were just saying that was bad?”

Think about this. John is so utterly stupid that he doesn’t understand that it is the substance of regulations that matter... not the existence of regulations. There is literally no other way to interpret John’s statement. Wow. What a moron!

Sadly, none of this actually surprises me. Our political class is a wretched hive of scum and villainy... and sheer stupidity. Someone needs to teach them to fling poop. At least that would be fun to watch, and it couldn't lead to any worse government.

Thoughts?

Andrew......What is it someone once stated: "We're in silly season!"

All this b.s. is so silly. Those of us not leftists will have to recognize that this is NOT a game to the left. They take it, and us, seriously. So seriously that, as you allude to, they will start lining us up against the walls and we'll be like Coescescou(sp?) after his "trial" stating as he's he's being led outside to the wall..."I refuse to accept your trial and verdict. This is all a travesty of justice!" Well, that travesty ended when he, his wife and son I believe, were made to stand against the wall and were summarily shot to death. The left would do the same to us. We'd be sputtering, ala Mitchy McConnell, that this is all against the law and we refuse to accept it. Then the killing begins.

I believe we are in a war against these idiots, and have been since Og decided you had a nicer, drier corner of the cave with a better looking mate and decided to set you up for disagreeing with the cave leader so that a fight would ensue and you were killed so he could "redistribute" your hard earned goods and beautiful mate for himself. Same mentality, different times.

I like his Wall Street talk and Perry is a great guy on paper (exec experience FTW!) , but his 2012 debate performances were 'are you my mother?' bad and are going to be tough to make voters forget.

The rest of the points raised strike me as irrelevant, not sufficiently unusual to make an impression on anyone because the only people paying attention to such minutia have made their minds up.

One funny bit of such minutia is the NTY's investigation into how many speed tickets Rubio and his wife have (when I try to think of cases where attacking someone's wife or kids has damaged them, I draw a blank).

http://www.mediaite.com/online/nyts-inane-investigative-piece-on-rubios-leadfoot-rightly-results-in-mockery-fundraising/

So what was the Times’ journalistic crime? An “investigative” piece (“Rubios on the Road Have Drawn Unwanted Attention“) that shows Mr. Rubio running into trouble with the law (OK, traffic cops) by averaging one traffic ticket almost every…five years (four in 18 years). This is obviously a big issue to ponder when considering who should lead the most powerful nation on Earth…a job that also has transportation provided in every way possible. The likely Democratic nominee, of course, has exactly zero tickets since 1992, simply because she hasn’t driven in any capacity since her husband became our 42nd President.

But here’s where NYT reporters Alan Rappeport and Steve Eder really did their homework: In exploring Mr. Rubio’s driving record, they also uncovered that–since 1997–Mrs. Rubio has racked up 13 tickets. Rutt-Row.

Robert, To a large degree, I agree with you. No, I don't think most leftists think they want to put people up against the wall, but I am amazed at how much they toy with the idea in their fantasies and their entertainment and how happily they seek to destroy people they don't like. Indeed, if you commit the wrong thought-crime, then they are happy to have you permanently banned from society and any job... which presumably would leave you to die, though they never think their revenge through that far.

Interestingly, I read an article this weekend about a liberal professor who wrote that he has come to fear his liberal students because they no longer have any tolerance at all for other views. And it's gotten to the point that asking them to read books with views they find uncomfortable is now something they will complain to the administration about... and the liberal administration will side with the students.

So, yeah.

AndrewPrice said...

Kit, I hope your tests are going well. I may chime in with a couple Marvel related thoughts. :D

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, I agree on Perry. On paper, he's great. He even seems to say all the right things. But getting past his 2012 performance will be impossible. He really came across as a low-grade moron and that is really hard to erase.

Anthony said...

The Clinton campaign is declining to say if Hillary actually supports a 15 dollar minimum wage. Nothing excites voters like obfustication!

http://www.mediaite.com/online/does-hillary-clinton-support-15-minimum-wage-or-not/

AndrewPrice said...

Anthony, That's been the Hillary problem all along. On literally every single issue the left wants, Hillary says something that appears to support it and then she immediately backs off and says she didn't really says yes or no yet.

Talk about an awful candidate!

BevfromNYC said...

Can someone explain why...oh, why, Donald Trump is...well, just "is". He must shut up. He has anointed himself the Wingnut's wingnut for which all candidates will be judged. He is trashing everyone and he is making matters worse. He's making even Santorum look halfway sane.

BevfromNYC said...

Hillary Clinton, Queen of the Trial Balloons and Duchess of Plausible Deniability, Destroyer of Evidence and Men... Long may she lie!

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Trump is an attention whore and an abuser of bankruptcy laws. He should be ignored. That fact that some in talk radio take him seriously should tell you all you need to know about them.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, The problem for Hillary is that she's misunderstood the trial balloon concept. She's supposed to have an aide mention it tepidly and then watch the reaction. Instead, she goes out there and gives a growling endorsement... only to back off again... and then finally decide she is on board. It's really stupid the way she does this. It builds un-trust.

Critch said...

I remember in 2008 when Hillary came to Missouri. her campaign was faltering, the big Democrats in Missouri were lining up behind Obama and she said, her first statement was, "Your guns will be a lot safer with me as President than with Obama..." Talk about pandering...She is truly a revolting person.

EPorvaznik said...

>>He really came across as a low-grade moron and that is really hard to erase. >>

I'm not comparing Perry to Reagan (not completely anyway), but if Perry can "aw-shucks" that image to the side-stage, and not let himself be defined by it, we're all heading in the correct direction.

Yeah, you could say I'm more than a little jazzed by Perry since he officially threw his hat into the ring for '16, and that the "America deserves a comeback" attitude/message resonated with a decent amount of Democrats certainly helps.

Koshcat said...

I don't see what the problem with Perry is. He only was governor of one of the largest and most populist states in the country. We have had great luck with previous presidents from Texas: Johnson, Bush...oh...ahhh...well? maybe I'll look over these other guys...

EPorvaznik said...

Touche, Koshcat, but you gotta admit the Lone Star State's arc is at least moving in the right trajectory.

Regardless of who it is, my gut's telling me a confident positivity will be key in determining the next GOP nominee. Of course, my gut also told me Mad Max: Fury Road would be bringing in big bucks for WB, so maybe I need to figure which part of my gut to reference.

AndrewPrice said...

Critch, She meant that she would keep your guns safer in her closet than Obama would because he lives in Chicago... high crime and all. She didn't mean she would let you keep them!

AndrewPrice said...

Eric, I want to like Perry (he has some views I really like), but I don't know that he can escape the hole he's made for himself. Not to mention, his support will be spit several ways with other candidates. Also, I'm 99% sure this election has already been handed to Bush and the rest is just theater.

On Mad Max, I saw problems for three reasons. (1) I don't see Mad Max as having such a strong pull that people want to see him again. (2) Everything I've read about it says it's feminist crap. Since the target audience is young males, that's a bad thing. (3) I saw the trailer and my reaction was, "Wow, I don't want to see that."

AndrewPrice said...

Koshcat, LOL! Nicely done! Texas doesn't have the best track record at the moment, does it?

JG said...

I remember the days when people complained that Bush never (or rarely) directly addressed criticism while in office (I was one of them). I guess if this high school "people are just so darn mean!" is the alternative, I prefer silence.

Also, hi. I don't know how or why I lost your blog, and I don't remember how or why I found it again, but it's good to be back :)

BevfromNYC said...

HEY! Don't diss Texas...that's dangerous...;-)

BevfromNYC said...

Hi JG! Welcome back! I agree with you. One of the things that I admired about Bush was the fact that he never complained openly about the hateful things that were said about him. I think that it's because he was the son of a President and knew the criticism comes with the position and to comment was undignified. He never blamed anyone either. He took responsibility for what he did. That's what a leader does. Heavy the head that wears the crown. Obama does not understand that.

AndrewPrice said...

Hi JG! Welcome back!

I too am sick of everyone accommodating the whiners. And what Michelle Obama said was the epitome of that. She's just whining and whining and whining that somebody once said something bad about her... boo hoo. Get over it. It's called life. There will always be someone who doesn't like you. And the more polarizing you are, and she is VERY polarizing, the more people will hate you. That's the name of the game. And if you don't like it then don't go into politics!

And let me add that she hasn't exactly been innocent in the demonization/name-calling game.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, What's Texas? ;-)

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, He took responsibility for what he did. That's what a leader does. Heavy the head that wears the crown. Obama does not understand that.

But Obama never did anything wrong. It all should have worked if not for the existence of Republicans.

BevfromNYC said...

Well, when you start your Adminsistration off by calling those citizens who disagree with you "the enemy"...oh, wait, you are correct. Obama is never wrong. I forgot, don't tell him I said anything. Oh, wait, he probably already knows 'cause the NSA and stuff.

Bruins United, a pro-Israel party running in the UCLA student government elections, swept the far-left, racist, anti-semitic, anti-Israel Let's Act (LA) from power. For those who don't remember, it was at UCLA where a Let's Act student representative questioned whether or not a woman could sit on a board because she was Jewish.

Legal Insurrection: LINK

Let's Act is, of course, blaming race for it, "Several slate leaders took turns giving speeches, saying how they felt robbed of representation on the council table and marginalized as people of color."

They also broke the cardinal rule of losing an election, be graceful towards both your opponents and, more importantly, the voting public: "“Shame on them for not electing the person that advocates on their behalf every single day,” said Denea Joseph, this year’s LET’S ACT! candidate for the seat."

Sanity has won an election victory. It's time to break out the Kool & the Gang:

Oh, and Turkey's Islamist President Erdogan took a blow to the nuts when his party lost their majority in the legislative branch.

EPorvaznik said...

Virginia and Ohio produced the most Presidents. Wonder how that compare/contrast would look ... and, no, that wasn't me lazily wondering if you'd do that, AP.

EPorvaznik said...

Total crap about it being feminist crap. Not saying the movie's anything more than it is, a high-priced B-movie, but fun car chase sequences like its superiors, Road Warrior and the original, but still rank it a few notches above Thunderdome. Especially liked Miller's decision to film in vibrant colors, opposite of so many post a apocalyptic flicks. Ending on an opposite, the trailer actually drew this skeptic's interest more. [shrug]

Kit said...

Virginia gave us Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and… Wilson. Going pretty well there for a bit.

AndrewPrice said...

I get the sense that Virginia did pretty well, but they've been shooting blanks since the 1800s.

Not sure about Ohio. Didn't they give us Presidents during our corrupt phase?

AndrewPrice said...

Eric, That's what I read in several places, but I haven't seen it.

Reasonable minds can differ on the trailer, but it really didn't work on me.

AndrewPrice said...

Kit, Erdogan needed it. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Rustbelt said...

Andrew, Here's the answer.

Ohio presidents: William Henry Harrison, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James A. Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, William Howard Taft, and Warren G. Harding

So...the 32-days-office-guy, 2 Civil War generals, 2 of the 4 assassinated, the big guy, "Tippecanoe" and "Young Tippecanoe," the guy who gave us the 7th inning stretch, and another who died in office (but may have been poisoned- possibly by his wife!)

Side note: ask anyone from Canton, Ohio what the most important thing about the city is and they'll immediately tell you that it's the home (and resting place) of President McMKinley. (Based on my observations, the Hall of Fame is of little importance to locals; only out-of-towners seem to care about it.)

Rustbelt said...

Correction: 4 Civil War generals (though B Harrison was a brevet)

AndrewPrice said...

Rustbelt, That sounds like quite a stretch of bad luck!

As for Canton, I know it for two things. First, the Hall of Fame... which is worth the visit. Secondly, I once thought it was the ancestral home of Dunkin Donuts, but it turns out that was Canton, Mass. :(

Rustbelt said...

Andrew, I've never been to the HoF, so I can't say. My best friend during my college years is from Canton, and he told me that locals regard it as the NFL's thing, not theirs.

That's too bad about Dunkin Donuts. But if it's a town known for goodies that you want, I'd recommend a trip to Hershey, PA. Now, THAT'S truly worth the drive! (Besides, they have their own theme park.)

EPorvaznik said...

All we got was a class field trip to Daffin's Chocolate factory in Sharon, PA. Fortunately one of my best friends in college was from Hershey, hooked us all up all nice and right!

BevfromNYC said...

Hey, Texas gave us Johnson, Bush 1, Bush 2, and...Eisenhower! ;-pbpbpbpb AND since we were our own country for 10 years, we also produced 4 other Presidents - David Burnet, Sam Houston x2, Mirabeau Lamar, and Anson Jones. HAH! Take THAT, Never-Your-Own-Countries Virginia and Ohio!

AndrewPrice said...

Rustbelt, I have been to Hersey, PA and does that place ever smell like Heaven! :D :D :D

Bev, None of those states need to worry though. Right now I would say that Hawaii holds the record for worst President ever...

Late to the party, here. I had a nice three-day mini-cation.

I'd like to borrow from Kevin D. Williams and apply the term "Dark Age Economics" to Hillary.

Madame O's remarks are typical of those who wear race-colored glasses. The proliferation of the concept of "micro-aggression" reveals, sadly, just how widespread the thinking is. There is no garden-variety rudeness where race is concerned. Even equal treatment, when perceived by any party as unequal, qualifies as racism under such thinking.

It's my experience that the liberal understanding of "regulation" is "something that stops bad people from doing bad things." Thus, anyone who is against "regulations" is in favor of "bad people" and "bad things." "Laws" on the other hand, according to liberal understanding, are unfair prohibitions that spoil everyone's fun.

A flurry of articles have already been posted to refute the liberal professor who's afraid of his students. To a one, they are all laughable. The counterarguments range from "I don't believe it, so it can't be true" to "liberal students aren't scary at all as long as you pander to them." I also read one that took the stance that the professor should be afraid, because it serves him right being a part of the white-male-hetero-cis-able-fasco-capitalist-academic-military power complex. (I may have intuited some of those items.) The Goodthink on display is remarkable.

I think Rick Perry's 2012 performance has been largely forgotten. You can google any politician's name to find lists of dumb things they've said, but Perry doesn't seem to stand out from the pack as uniquely stupid. Heck, the term "Bushism" was coined in the 90s to criticize 41, so it was ready to unroll on 43, who undoubtedly deserved it more, but wasn't hampered by it. However, I agree with Andrew, Jeb has already bought and paid for the GOP nomination.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Welcome back!

I have run into minorities like Madame O and I find it amazing how obsessed they are with race/sex. Literally every single thing that happens to them gets seen as an affront to them based on race/sex. I can't imagine a more clear definition of paranoid obsession than those people.

What I found so funny about the regulation thing is that this supposedly intelligent reporter seriously doesn't understand that regulations are not an off/off thing, but their substance matters. I guess in his world, one car is the same thing as any other car and one lunch is the same as any other lunch.

I'm not surprised at all about the attacks on that article. Those are exactly the kinds of attacks I've come to expect from leftists. In fact, they pretty much prove his point. The left in this country has reached a point of psychological implosion that simultaneously makes them dangerous and worthless. They live on whining and getting even with people for not acknowledging their pain. The whole group needs a spanking and to be sent to bed without desert.

I have to admit that I like a lot of what Perry says, but I really don't see him as having a chance.

Bev-

Bush I is from the northeast. Eisenhower is from Kansas. Nice try though.

BevfromNYC said...

Koshcat - But Bush brought his family to Texas (as quick as he could!) to do the most Texan thing of all...oil and politics! Eisenhower was born in Denison, Texas right by the railroad tracks...that makes in a Native Born Son, no matter how long he lived there (a matter of months) or where he SAID he was from! ;-)
