Happy Halloween!

By Kit

This is an open thread. But I do have a rather heartwarming treat for you below.

Paul Ryan, our new speaker, who Democrats have informed us likes to push grannies off cliffs, apparently prays with heroin addicts.

Really.

I may have had some disagreements with him but I have never gotten the impression that he was anything other than a decent human being.

Here are some little treats from classic movie monsters

"This is Halloween" set to Universal horror monsters, cuts off rather quickly at the end but it is still fun: LINK

Classic Horror monsters set to Imperial March: LINK

And, "The Monster Mash", LINK

Happy Halloween!

Paul Ryan is a very decent, solid, Christian man.

It's sad that politics has become so very low in this country.

OMG!! 200 trick or treaters??? In 26 years in NYC I have had 1. Yes, 1. What a wonderfully rational, fun neighborhood you must live in.

BTW ..BOOO!!!!

As an aside: in NYC is crazy this weekend. We have the annual Halloween parade and all that comes with that, the NYC Marathon, the time change, AND the World Series with the Mets...feel my pain.

Critch, LOL! We played those exact same movie today! :)

We're almost out of candy now. Oh oh!

Bev, Good luck with that! I hope you have plenty of food stored up! :)

Had quite a few trick-or-treaters in the first half hour, but hardly any after that. Doesn't make sense. Had more the last few years. And we've had rain on Halloween night roughly 4 of the last 5 years. First dry holiday in a while, Ah,well...

Watching Universal's "Frankenstein" on Svengoolie. It's alive! It's ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a change of pace, I took my daughters (we were accompanied by a friend and his two daughters) to two trunk or treats held at churches. Huge haul of candy and some fun games (minigolf and suchlike) but we all agreed that the randomness of going house to house was more entertaining if less productive.

I wanted to put on The Exorcist and open the blinds, but the wife said that might be conspired weird...

I just read that stellar character actor and Republican former TN Sen. Fred Thompson has passed away. RIP Sen. Thompson.

RIP Fred. Helluva nice guy and very smart, darn good actor.

Hi folks! Sorry there is no article, but I've been felled by the plague. This began as strep throat in a 10 year old, but quickly morphed into a you-will-want-to-die cold/sinus infection. I hope to be able to breathe again tomorrow. At that point, I'll be able to start writing again.

RIP Fred Thompson... "son, a Russian don't take a dump without a plan."

Congrats KC Royals.

Get Well Soon, Andrew. FYI - I have it on good authority that healthy dose of candy corn can cure the plague.

Thanks Bev!

Sadly, I think the only cure is the sweet release of death... and a bucket of NyQuil.

My question is how can a 10 year old produce weapon's grade illness? What evil lurks in their little souls to be able to do this?

I beg you to never, ever ask this question again. They may look all innocent and sweet, but they know exactly what they are doing to you. They are watching us all the time and theeeey know who you aaaarrrreeee.... Bwaahahahaha.

Or there is a simple scientific reason that has to do with building up immunities. ;-)
