Super Tuesday Special Open Thread Update.

RESULTS FROM LAST NIGHT

Our backs are against the wall, fellow Conservatives!  Let the games begin...

Texas will be the big state to win and this is Cruz's state, so he should win.  But all bets are off.

Fun Fact - All of today's primaries are proportional, not winner-take-all.  So if Trump does win 49%, he will still only get 49% of the delegates.

Until then, share your thoughts.

Colorado here. Home of NORAD and the World Champion Denver Broncos. So far, nothing to report. Although, I have heard of a rumor that Trump and Hillary are planning to have a love child in the hopes that it can run for President in 2050. It will be an albino hermaphrodite with an afro made of teddy-bear hair and an enthusiasm for shoplifting from toilet plunger shops. They're planning to call it Trillary.

Or maybe, I read that wrong.

Kit said...

Will Trillary inherit Trump's short, sausage fingers?

AndrewPrice said...

I'm no geneticist, but I would say there's a 99.97% likelihood of that.

Florida isn't up yet but, as an Independent, I can't vote in the primary... so f--- 'em! :-)

And this is old news but The Daily Beast did a story on the somewhat incestuous relationship between Trump and Breitbart. They truly are psychopaths and I'm reminded of the Wild One line: "What are you rebelling against?" "Whaddaya got?"

And re: George Kennedy, he has one of my favorite lines in The Naked Gun. Ted, the police scientist, demonstrates his latest gizmo by shooting a dart at Ed (Kennedy), who simply cries out, "Ted... why?!" On the DVD commentary, the filmmakers joke that the line took an entire weekend to write: "The 'Ted' was on Saturday."

Scott, I knew him first from those movies, but later I came to realize that he had a pretty vast career doing westerns and tough guy films. He was in a ton of stuff, including Cool Hand Luke, The Dirty Dozen, several disaster films, and one of the Magnificent Seven remakes. He was a solid, versatile and likable actor.

Allena-C said...

George Kennedy was a superb actor. I enjoyed his movie and tv work. RIP

As for Super Tuesday Specials: I will have the tacos. Oops! I hope that doesn't offend the anti-Hispanic fringe...not. :)

The relationship between Trump & Breitbartai ain't nearly as icky as the one between Trump & Hannity.

Critch,

Nice quote. :)

New York State Primary is April 19...I still don't get to vote. Our primaries are closed.

BevfromNYC said...

Andrew - I was wondering when you would bring the World Champion Denver Broncos up. I applaud your restrain up until now...;-)

BevfromNYC said...

I think that Trillary would probably turn out to be something like MonkeyDogBaby...

Allena-C said...

Bev, lol, or RabidMoonbatBoar.

Kit said...

Bev,

You mean PuppyMonkeyBaby. That abomination.

Kit said...

By the way, Trump is the only candidate, besides Kasich, who loses to Hillary in the polls.

BevfromNYC said...

Kit - Yeah, okay, PuppyMonkeyBaby, it gives me nightmares either way. ;-pbpbpbpbpbp

Though I like Allena's RabidMoonbatBoar!

tryanmax said...

I'll just be waiting to see who is left for me to pick between. It could be worse. Nebraska could vote after California. Actually, that sounds like an idea the state bigwigs would get behind. Maybe I should pitch it. "Nebraska: Last in the Nation!"

Koshcat said...

Did someone say it was Taco Tuesday? Where are my pants?

Koshcat said...

Life-long Denver Bronco fan here.

You learn to not get too excited as you never know when the next SB blow out may occur and frankly I'm still stunned that they won. We are all now on the Manning death watch. Will he leave? Will he retire? Will he continue to see Buicks and Pappa Johns Pizza? As a college player, did he really slap his junk in the trainers face? Do we care?

BevfromNYC said...

Nikki Haley to @realDonaldTrump on Twitter: "Bless your heart."

Now for anyone who has an ounce of Southern blood, you will know that this is the ultimate Southern put-down. Just so you understand that is so not what she meant...

BevfromNYC said...

Koshcat and Allena - Yes, tacos will be served shortly.

ArgentGale said...

Well, I just got done casting my vote for Rubio, though I don't know how much good it'll do. Georgia typically doesn't pick good candidates and last time I checked the overall polls it was still on board the Trump love train (wreck). Nice jab on Haley's part in any case, though!

- Daniel

BevfromNYC said...

Oops, I should have added what prompted Nikki Haley:

@realDonaldTrump: The people of South Carolina are embarrassed by Nikki Haley!
@nikkihaley: Bless your heart.

Now that's how a Southern lady does it.

George Lopez (a Bernie supporter) is a crazy, vicious dude. He recently tweeted a photoshop of Trump decapitated by a drug lord.

I never was a fan, but in his movies and tv show he came across as a decent guy. One would think Cosby would have taught me how little public persona means, but I am apparently a slow learner :/ .

http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2016/03/01/george-lopez-tweets-gruesome-photo-el-chapo-beheading-trump/

Comedian George Lopez tweeted an image that shows Mexican drug kingpin Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán holding the severed head of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

On Feb. 27, the Mexican-American actor and comedian, who has been a vocal critic of Trump’s candidacy, tweeted a gruesome photo showing the infamous drug lord standing on a mound of human skulls and money carrying Trump’s head.

Anthony said...

Correction, it isn't a photoshop, its art.

BevfromNYC said...

Anthony - George Lopez divorced his wife of 17 yrs. even after she donated on of her kidneys to him for a life saving transplant. That tells me what kind of person he is. I hope he isn't revealed as some closet conservative - I don't advocate murder even of Donald Trump.

Forward, backward, inward, outward
Come and join the chase
Nothing could be drier
Than a jolly caucus race

Backward, forward, outward, inward
Bottom to the top
Never a beginning,
There can never be a stop

To skipping, hopping, tripping fancy free and gay
Started it tomorrow
But will finish yesterday

'Round and 'round and 'round we go
Until forevermore
For once we were behind
But now we find we are be-

Foreward, backward, inward, outward
Come and join the chase
Nothing could be drier
Than a jolly caucus race!

Unsurprisingly and unfortunately Georgia was just called for Trump. Sorry for my state's stupidity everyone.

Don't forget Kennedy's great villain in the latter seasons of Dallas. Peyton is huge in Tenn and Knoxville. The woman who made the complaint was a standing joke among the staff at the News Sentinel. Just a hate filled rant machine whose story has changed at least twice. Voted today, took 40 minutes

BevfromNYC said...

Danial - We hold you personally responsible...not.

BevfromNYC said...

TJed - that whole Peyton Manning thing sounds like a 19 yr old prank gone wrong. Seriously, it doesn't sound like he was intentionally sexually assaulting anyone. He was mooning a friend and she got in the way. I like Peyton Manning and I don't understand the reason why there is such an effort to tear him down.

BevfromNYC said...

Koshcat - Love it!

BevfromNYC said...

Trump takes Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. I'm too afraid to look any further.

Tennessee Jed said...

Media loves to go after a target lie Peyton, plus the whole obsession with rape culture. It is the kind of thing for which they love to jump to conclusions. That said, I don't deny that a lot of major Colleen football players think they can do anything, but Manning hardly fits that narrative

Kit said...

Cruz won Texas, Rubio might, might win Minnesota.

Kit said...

Everyone is wondering if Rubio's slams on Trump hurt Trump.

Take note: In some of the friendliest territory Trump will face, he has trouble going over 40%.

Kit said...

Anyway, some thoughts on the current election season, from Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt:

"Do you know the world is a foul sty? Do you know if you rip the fronts off houses you'd find swine? The world's a hell. What does it matter what happens in it?"

Kit said...

And borrowing from Krauthammer back on Jan 22: "I've upped the wine, women and song because I really need solace right now."

ArgentGale said...

So, what now? I'm at a loss as to how things might turn around.

Kit said...

Only good news: Trump underperformed everywhere.

Kit said...

He won VT and Virginia by a hair. (Congrats, John Kasich)

By the way, Buzzed might now be a more reliable news source than Fox News.

AndrewPrice said...

Morning folks. Sorry there's no article. The magic dust that covers children and which eats time got me last night and I didn't get home until late.

AndrewPrice said...

Three things bothered me last night:

1. Trump should not have won Massachusetts.
2. Trump should not have won Vermont.
3. While Rubio won Minnesota, he under-performed and the fringe over-performed.

AndrewPrice said...

BTW, Trump just "Bushed" conservatism. If you will recall, HW Bush obnoxiously talked about creating a kinder gentler conservatism, which implied that conservatism was uncaring -- a charge the left lobbed at us ever since.

Last night, Trump just said, "I'm a conservative, but a common sense conservative". He thereby implies that conservatism is generally not a common sense belief. Let's hope this gets overlooked because that would be obnoxious to deal with.

tryanmax said...

At this juncture, I am quite convinced that the Trump supporters are the real low-information voters. How else can they not be aware that Trump is the only GOP candidate that polls worse than Hillary? They are obviously the ones living in their own Trump echo chamber.

Cruz publicly asked his GOP rivals to "prayerfully consider" uniting their campaigns. Of course he means behind himself. But at this point, I'd take it. I could fill in the bubble ('cuz that's how we do here) beside Cruz/Rubio. I don't expect such a move from Rubio prior to Florida, but maybe afterward.

That said, if Trump loses the nom, he's gonna run third party. You know he is. Which means he's gonna peel off the same bunch of idiots.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Trump's supporters are throwing a tantrum and I don't think they care what Trump is. All they care about is that he upsets people. "Ha ha he made fun of that guy!" And they will be the first ones whining when President Trump does all the thing they though he wouldn't -- amnesty, raise taxes, cronyism, expands Obamacare, expands gay rights, environmentalism and unionism.

In democracy, the public generally gets what it deserves... good and hard.

Critch said...

We vote in March, I'm almost certain I will for Kasich, assuming he's still in the race.
