No Contradiction There!

Whiners whiners everywhere and I can't give a crap.

● If the “strong” women who couldn’t report being repeatedly raped and harassed by Weinstein for decades really want to be taken seriously, then stop posing in your damn underwear. You can’t sell your body and then whine when people treat you as a sex object.

● Blake Lively (and others) whined about being discriminated against because reporters asked which designer they were wearing when they attended some women’s conference. The next week, she announced that she would be the spokeschickie for some fashion designer/makeup company. See a contradiction there?

● Amber Tamblyn claims that the only reason Harvey Weinstein went down was that Hillary lost and women decided to stand up for themselves. Such idiocy. So she's saying that if we had elected Hillary, Amber and friends would have let predator Weinstein keep molesting young women? That’s nice. How does that make electing Hillary a good thing?

Notice also that the response to evil Trump being elected is that a group of women finally told the truth about something they’d been covering up to protect their careers. So Trump made honest women of them.

Or, said differently, to get even with the public for the election of Trump, a group of leftist Hollywood starlets destroyed one man... the biggest Hollywood bundler for Democratic causes. Does that make sense to anyone? Maybe it would make more sense if they were wearing hats shaped like genitalia on their heads? Idiots.

● Terry Richards is a pervert. This has long been known with the fashion industry and even among the public. I knew it and I barely know who this guy is. He all but molests models. So this week, the fashion industry decided to blacklist him for his sexual crimes. My question is this: why was his well-known behavior considered acceptable for 30 years?

● The Houston Texans should change their logo to a snowflake... or a moron. Apparently, the playas are upset because the owner said, “We can’t let the inmates run the prison.” Putting aside any anger they feel for him getting the saying wrong, these coddled millionaire delicates apparently don’t realize that this is a common expression used by millions of people to say that management can’t let the people they manage make the decisions. It’s not racist. It does not imply that the employees are “inmates.” Yet, the Texans are moron victim-wannabes, so they’re all butthurt about it. Waaaaah!

Let’s be real about this for a moment, shall we? Why in the world would white managers want to hire black people when the public experience with them is this? Would you hire someone who will misconstrue everything to be racism and then stage protests about it? The answer seems pretty obvious. So while it may be fun to whine like a bitch about being fake-victimized, the damage these delicate millionaires are doing to the cause of black people is immense.

Ditto on the sexual harassment thing. Right now, you have women claiming harassment that is decades old and based on things that should never be considered harassment: “He asked me out! He looked at me! He complimented me on my clothing! I felt uncomfortable around him! He told a joke involving women/sex/something I don’t like!” Would you hire someone who might decide to become a victim 20 years down the road. That’s like hiring a booby trap... no pun intended. Again, how does this help the women who aren't idiots?

● Ford’s new slogan is “Always Unstoppable.” Does that sound like a great slogan for a car company?

Snowflakism has been growing little by little for a long time. I think it's a manifestation of being too civilized for our own good. I saw an example of it today that infuriates me...there was a double murder last week in a little town near us..I knew one of the victims...late last night the two suspects were arrested, they killed those people for a little over a $1000, that's all, it was purely a robbery, nothing more...some of us were talking about it today and one of my friends said something to the effect of it's too bad that it will take years to execute these two criminals...an older woman said, "Now, we can't let our emotions rule us on things like this." I'm thinnking, "Why the hell not?" Anger, especially public anger does have a place in the law and the courtroom, we have a right to be angry as a community and to do something about it. These two career criminals will, who were just captured, will probably plead guilty and get life w/o parole and the good citizens of Missouri get to support these two oxygen thieves..why? hell I'm made, I knew one of the victims, oddly, I know one of the murderers and he's worthless as the day is long..why don't we have the right to give them a speedy trial and then a speedy death if found guilty...too much civilization for our own good is why.

The NFL's ludicrousness knows no bounds. For a league that's already been losing ratings for several years- likely for a such a pathetic, sanitized on-field product- the last thing they need to do is lose more fans over continued, out-of-control protests. The latest ratings show anywhere from a 4 to 8% drop in ratings. And before you say "that's nothing," I recently read that the contracts between the NFL and advertisers require the league to deliver a certain level of ratings. Or, if the level isn't met, those advertisers are owed a free advertising spot for every spot that falls short ratings-wise. With fans already spending less on merchandise, cutting cords, and dropping DirecTV packages, they really can't afford this. And for a league where 48 cents of every dollar go to players' salaries, someone needs to wake the players up, too.

Also, in case you missed it, this month's second edition of Monsterpiece Theater is up. LINK

The third edition has just been put up, if you'd like to take a look. LINK

Looks like the final edition will have to be after Halloween. Old School Simpsons Syndrome, I suppose.

Also, does THIS look like something that interests you- or is it actually the latest sign of the impending Apocalypse? (WARNING: VERY NSFW)

Critch, The dirty secret the left hides when it comes to criminals is that most of them are oxygen thieves. They will never amount to anything except increasingly violence crimes. Seriously, with few exceptions these people follow the same pattern: problems at school lead to dropping out, multiple "petty" arrests, domestic violence, robbery as a career choice, first non-domestic violent arrest, some heinous violent crime, paroled, murders old couple/single mom/kid.

And the whole way, an army of social workers pretends to reform them.

AndrewPrice said...

Rustbelt, We cut the DirecTV NFL package cord when we realized it was a rip off. Since that time, I find myself watching less often and with less interest. And my wife and I both mute the TV or change the channel when they start talking about protests.

The NFL needs to wake up. They think they can kind of give in and fund some of the leftist crap this tiny cabal of players wants and then the protests will stop. But it won't. The players are leftist bullies who want 100% of their demands met and even then won't promise to stop. What's more, when I see the NFL running ads that are anti-cop or pro-reparation or that kind of crap, that will be MUCH worse than a few idiots protesting. Then need to just say, "we can't stop them, but they're full of crap and we don't endorse their ideas."

Let me add something. If these women were serious...

(1) They would name more names than two guys,

(2) They would not be forcing men who claim to have been harassed in Hollywood to apologize for being insensitive by raising their own issues -- apparently, only women's pain matters;

(3) They would not be trying to stifle discussions of child molestation,

(4) They would admit that they set up all the women who came after them by staying silent,

(5) They would look for a cultural change which includes changes in their own conduct rather than demanding that nothing needs to change on their part, i.e. they would stop posting pictures of themselves in underwear on Instagram and they would stop selling their looks,

(6) They would have some recommendation for change other than declare "men are evil."

(7) They would limit the types of things they would consider harassment.

As it is, they are simply piling on a guy who got exposed by one woman to avoid exposing others and they are hoping for nebulous victim status rather than actual change. That's irresponsible.

1) The owner of the Texans is clearly an idiot who likes to talk himself into conflicts. Inmates running the asylum is a non-racial insult but it is an insult. *Shrugs* If he is aiming for a career in politics it was a clever move.

2) Kevin Spacey having a taste for boys might turn into legal charges down the line if someone he actually had sex with comes forward.

3) According to the administration the NK threat is accelerating. Trump will no doubt send out some really brutal tweets about NK which will scare them into abandoning their nuclear ambitions.

4) It will be interesting to see who Mueller indicts.

AndrewPrice said...

Manafort was the one indicted. Yawn. The only interesting thing to me is that Mueller add a change "Conspiracy Against The United States." That's grandstanding. The charge itself is just an obstruction of justice, but it looks like Mueller chose it to sound ominous. The rest is simply failure to register, failure to report payments and failure to pay taxes -- which Mueller against grandstandingly calls money laundering.

Regarding Ford's "Always Unstoppable" slogan, at least it wasn't Dodge who came up with it.

tryanmax said...

On the booby trap thing, a new feminist complaint is that women are being treated like "rape allegation time bombs." The fact that this is a complaint shows a stunning lack of self awareness. I'd be interested if the race hustlers start complaining about the same thing soon.

BevfromNYC said...

First off..GO 'STROS!!!

Does Spacey really think formally out himself is going to absolve him of raping a 14 yr old?

Manafort...no surprise.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, That was a heck of a game last night!

On Spacey, it's really not working. He's being blasted for trying to use an "I'm gay, get out of jail free" card. They are equally upset that's trying to excuse it with "I was drunk." I think Spacey may find himself sacrificed as the child-sex representative of Hollywood.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, Isn't that just a horrible slogan? Did no one think this through? There are some really horrible slogans out there right now.

On the time bomb thing, they've always done that. "We have the right to decide at any time that we didn't like whatever we agreed to at the time, i.e. we can change out minds, revoke our consent and become outraged at behavior we voluntarily engaged in... but how dare you take precautions to protect yourself from our attacks!" It's a lunatic position.

Only a fool would not see this as a booby trap and take precautions.

I still remember how hard it was for the big firm I worked at to fire blacks. They spent weeks papering files, trying to document a history of reasons, and giving the black employee chance after chance after chance. White employees just got the boot. And when they hired blacks, they looked for signs that the person might claim racism because getting rid of them later was a risk.

AndrewPrice said...

Two more Kevin Spacey claims. Looks like he's going down... no pun intended.

BevfromNYC said...

Just got off a plane!

Uh, GO, 'STROS...again. I thought they lost last night and woke up to what appears to have been one of the greatest games in World Series history AND the "stros won!!!

Btw, just ead that Netflix cancelled "House of Cards", well, after the next season which is already in production.

"You can't sell your body and then whine when people treat you like a sex object." That is the one thing these women don't seem to get. At all. In most of the stories I've heard they had a choice. They could walk out or they could go along to advance their careers. They chose to trade their bodies for something they evidently found more important. Weinstein's a pig, no doubt, but these women showed a lack of judgement and character in situations that could have ended differently.

It's not unlike a crime someone shared on Facebook a while back. A young couple, after a day at the lake, stopped by a convenience store on the way home. The woman ran in to get drinks/snacks/whatever and became the target of crude comments by a group of rough characters (I hate to mention they were black). The harassment escalated until the boyfriend comes into the store and from there it got worse. It ended with the couple running for their car and the men chasing after them, one of them throwing a metal pipe through the window and doing serious damage to the woman's face.

Were these thugs lowlife turds? Absolutely! The woman in no way deserved what she got. However, I pretty much got crucified when I pointed out that the entire episode might never have happened had she not ENTERED THE STORE WEARING NOTHING BUT A BIKINI.

Such attacks are wrong, but people need to think...maybe try a little common sense. Oh wait, nobody has any these days. Forget it.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, It was an amazing game. Holy cow, what an ending!

Netflix is apparently very concerned about his behavior, even though we're now told that "everyone already knew this."

AndrewPrice said...

Stacy, That's exactly it. They had a choice when he first attacked them. They had a choice even after, when their careers were fixed. They had a choice every time they heard about some new young thing getting molested. And yet, they said nothing. That makes them complicit, just as if I didn't tell people that there was a monster eating cars around a turn.

And what bothers me just as much is the point about selling their looks. These women say, "Take us seriously, don't judge us on looks." Yet everything they do is offering their looks for money:

1. They got their roles on looks, not acting skills. (And only complained when their looks faded.)

2. They all wanted to be models.

3. Most get deals with fashion designers or makeup companies -- Blake Lively threw a hissy fit about being asked "who she was wearing" even as she makes a living as a spokes model.

4. They periodically post images of themselves online in underwear or bathing suits.

Show me one single accomplished male who does any of that? That's what they ignore. They claim they want to be taken seriously, but then everything they do is about their looks and looking sexy and then they whine that people see them through that prism.

On the bikini story, I agree that she didn't deserve that, but she could have avoided it too. There are bad people out there. It may not be right. It may not be fair. But when you tempt a tiger, it's your own fault when you get bitten.

Common sense. Tempt someone who is uncivilized and you tempt fate.

BevfromNYC said...

Stacy and Andrew: It is similar to the people in NYC who choose to walk through Central Park at 2AM and shocked...SHOCKED that they were mugged or worse. Common sense and just plain self-protection should scream: DON'T WALK THROUGH ANY PARK AT 2AM!!!

Having been in dicey situations on the subway, I learned to remove myself as quickly a possible. DO NOT ENGAGE AND DO NOT ESCALATE the situation. She should have walked out as quickly as possible and gotten the hell out of the situation.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Exactly. And how many times do we hear "innocent child shot and killed" only to discover that the "innocent child" (read: teen) was out at 2:00 AM in some dangerous part of town, drinking/doing drugs and got into a fight with the group of opposing teens who eventually shot them.

My sympathy level goes to zero when you bring things on yourself. Avoid bad people. Stay out of bad situations. Don't escalate, leave.

But sadly, hindsight is always 20/20. Woulda, shoulda, coulda...

Kevin Spacey is gay? Worst kept secret in Hollyweird. Speaking of Hollyweird, it's coming apart, I saw that Rosie O-Blabbermouth got mean about Spacey on Twitter....it's only gonna get worse...

BevfromNYC said...

Critch: I was shocked...SHOCKED I SAY... to learn that Kevin Spacey was gay...full on gay. Billy Eichner (gay comedian) said this on Twitter..."Kevin Spacey has just invented something that has never existed before: a bad time to come out." Not only a bad time, but a really bad way. Spacey just unintentionally reinforces the fear of the predatory gay man.

The Facebook story sounds like a variant of something that actually happened two years ago. In that incident the bikini clad teen in question never left the car. Honestly I'm surprised the Facebook variant was so close to the truth.

Moving on to the more important point bored thugs are going to key on pretty young women regardless of what they wear. The big problem in that incident besides the thugs was the boyfriend's desire to fight the goons. If he had won he'd be a toast of the local news for a few days if it made the news (such incidents usually don't) but he didn't and his girlfriend got hurt. Courage or hotheadedness or whatever you want to call it sometimes has a horrible price.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/teen-in-bikini-disfigured-by-catcallers-pipe-attack_us_55be1ac6e4b0d4f33a031cd3

Byrnes-Laird was still in her bikini from a day of swimming on July 26 when she and her boyfriend stopped outside a Shreveport convenience store, she told KTBS. She waited in the car while her boyfriend, Jared Pelletier, was inside. Several men began making lewd comments at the teen. Pelletier emerged from the store and fought with the men. He managed to get inside the car when one of the catcallers threw a brass pipe through the open passenger window, crushing Byrnes-Laird’s mouth.

“I looked down and saw my teeth in my hand and I immediately started gushing blood,” the 18-year-old told NBC 6.

She suffered a torn top lip, a deep gash in her lower lip and lost teeth, according to a GoFundMe page set up to pay for medical expenses. In all, 12 teeth were damaged.

Hilariously over the top ad run against the GOP gubernatorial candidate in Virginia. I can only assume the Republican hasn't said anything stupid or they would have used quotes rather than just show a pick-up truck driving Confederate flag waver trying to run down minority kids.

Wow! At least the Willie Horton ad dealt in events that actually happened.

Tryanmax - careful about using Kevin Spacey and "yank" in the same sentence. On this particular issue, I am seeing a trend towards stories in other areas beside entertainment. Who I hold the most disdain for are folks like Meryl Street who chose to go political while defending pedophile fugitive Roman Polanski. While it has always gone on, and should never be tolerated, we cannot escape the fact that, particularly in Hollywood, the knife does cut both ways with the potential for 1) women who use their beauty to get ahead, or 2) women who want to ruin someone and make false claims. Like rape, the problem remains that is hard to know the truth because there are rarely eye witnesses. The Women's movement worked hard to define harassment as any kind of vaguely sexual behavior in the workplace as long as the male was in a power of position. It only did not apply until WJC was potus and then all the women were instant liars and bimbos.

Tennessee Jed said...

Anthony - hard to believe. Apparently, it has been pulled (apologies to liberal directors) but I sure hope this puts Gillespie over the top.
