So This Happened In NYC

The actor, thinker and arteest that is Shia LeBoef somehow talked the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NYC to allow him to set up an performance aahht installation (and presumable fund with taxpayer dollars) in the last few weeks called "He Will Not Divide Us", a political protest performanc aahht piece. Yeah, he just can't cope with President Trump, so he set up a live 24/7 video feed in a parking lot outside the museum that was supposed to run for the next 4 years where the public was invited to participate by yelling the phrase, "He will not divide us," into the camera....blah, blah, blah.

Of course, the first thing that happened was the Mr. LeBeouf was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault for pummeling someone who disagreed with his aahhtistic vision. But after that, it has gone smoothly without incident. Okay, that was a joke, of COURSE it didn't go smoothly! And not because of any Trumpsters. Actually the neighbors started complaining about the noise and nuisance of the rabble. Because of the security risk, the police had to be stationed outside the installation to patrol 24/7...at the taxpayers expense.

After less than a week, the Museum Board decided to shut the project down because the installation had become an "ongoing public safety hazard for the Museum, its visitors, staff, local residents, and businesses." LeBoeuf was very disappointed:

And then there was something about milk now being recognized as another example of white privilege because of something about lactose intolerance in non-Western cultures or something.

Comments? Oh, please, PLEASE change the subject.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY. Plan accordingly with hearts, flowers, candy, and the like. Don't say you weren't warned!

He's rich. He can buy his own building and put this up again. Where exactly is the problem here? Oh that's right, his right to free speech depends on others footing the bill.

P.S. Excellent PSA. Very important, people!

Thuggish former Knick Charles Oakley was banned from the Knicks stadium after a violent altercation with security, but now after a bunch of player and former players pleaded his case, he is being allowed back in.

On the downside, it protects a crappy person from the consequences of his own actions, on the upside, it raises the possibility a Knicks game will be fun to watch.

Michael Flynn resigned after lying to the Trump administration about his contacts with the Russian government. That is like being kicked out of Hollywood for being too liberal.

He was caught on camera, but lied to the faces of his bosses. I imagine it was like the famous toddler sprinkles video but less cute.

I don't know why Flynn was overcome by the need to reassure the Russians ('Trump is friend? We had no idea! Thanks comrade!').

On a much darker note, Sandusky's son apparently shares his father's predilection for kids. Seems likely to me Sandusky was laying hands on him when he was a kid. Hopefully the kids he abused don't continue the cycle of evil.

Also, a KKK imperial wizard was recently killed. I was afraid it was an extreme example of that dangerous punch a Nazi thing, but it turns out he was killed by his own family. What a relief.

You'd think they would have been a little more crafty about it.

Anthony,

Flynn being gone strikes me as a good thing all around. I'm impressed Trump dumped him so fast and didn't try to hang onto him. Hanging on always gets administrations in trouble, but they do it.

On the KKK guy, good riddance. Some people are better off dead. And having his wife and stepson locked away in prison for it seems like icing on the cake.

The Sandusky thing kind of puts an ugly bow on an ugly situation. I will bet he claims to have been abused as his defense.

As an aside, can anybody tell me what the heck Hillary Clinton is thinking? She's a loser. The public doesn't want her. The Democrats don't want her. Her own people don't want her. She has no future in politics. She has no chance to lead the Democrats. She has no chance to lead the progressive snowflakes either. Not only that, she had no political instincts, no ability to connect with the public and no sense of timing. So what is she doing trying to fight a Twitter war with Trump?

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the old hag mucking up the left and making a fool of herself, but why would she do that?

That KKK guy was killed about an hour up the road from me...there is no real presence of the KKK in these hills, it's generally just a bunch of idiots who need an excuse to drink beer on Sunday. Sarah Silverman mistook some utility company markings for swastikas,,,she's an idiot....Shia LeBeouf is an actor? Who would have known?

BevfromNYC said...

Andrew - Hillary is doing it because the Clinton pay-to-play/quid pro quo gravy train has dried up. They have no $$ value and their ability to raise funds even for The Clinton Fanily Very Good Works Not For Our Own Financial Gain, We Swear Foundation is unable to raise any money. Seriously, she can't get paying speaking gigs. And they are trying to make themselves politically relevant again. Chelsea's been tweeting her little heart out too. Bill is probably just charming [a/k/a "molesting"] the young giftshop sales clerks who he invites up to his apartment he had installed on the top floor of his Presidential Library in Arkansas. [True, btw]

BevfromNYC said...

Starting from the top - Andrew, I am sure LeBeouf would do that...and there are plenty of empty storefronts and empty parking lots where he could do that...but, but, but It's AAAAHHHTT and stuff.

Actually I'm surprised that the Museum backed out. We've had other protests, but I think that when Shia got arrested for beating someone up, they decided perhaps the violence is his "art", not with anyone who would counter protest. They couldn't risk the liability. Art is not supposed to actually be physically assaulting. It's may assault the senses, the mind, the soul, but one has to draw the line at actually putting people at risk of physical harm.

I don't think even the Democrats are dumb enough to make Hillary their nominee again. We live in strange times though.

Anthony - There was some sit-down with Oakley, Dolan and Michael Jordan acting as mediator. Dolan rescinded his ban and maybe there will be some kind of rehab for Oakley. He did get out of hand because he may have a serious drinking problem.

Hey, maybe we should get Michael Jordan to mediate Trump's immigration EO with the courts!

Critch - Interestingly enough, the largest KKK are in the NE, not in the South.

I LOVE the whole Sarah Silverman/Swastika debacle. If anything, those markings looked like something the Illuminati put there. All of this is turning into some mass hysteria where we see Nazi's in the cloud formations and Starbucks latte foam. Can we jsut go back to seeing the Virgin Mary everywhere instead?

Anthony, Jeffrey Sandusky's predilection for anything has nothing to do with anyone but himself, as we will learn as more information becomes available re. his recent arrest. More importantly to your supposition on what happened to him as an adopted child in the Sandusky household, like he stated along with all his adopted siblings, including eventual money-grabbing turncoat Matthew, Jerry never laid a perverted hand on any of them, ever.

You're also wrong about Jerry, but, please, don't allow any or all of ESPiN's easily debunked false narratives to sway your mindset.

"
If you're making an insane leap from Jerry Sandusky to charges vs adopted son, please relate this to Aaron Fisher's stepdad Eric Daniels being convicted of CSA, because wouldn't that make Sandusky innocent then?"

The funniest thing about the HWNDU Shia livestream was the alt-right people who kept coming on at various times and literally doing performance art (the kind of art shia thinks he's doing). Some of it was really funny to watch, like the one time where they started playing islamic music through their phones and re-enacted a fake beheading (which was to make a point about islam/jihad) AS an NYPD police car is right in view! Hilarious! Can imagine the cops just cracking up watching these stupid kids having fun with this weird cultish livestream where everyone is supposed to go up to the camera and go "he will not divide us".

BevfromNYC said...

Anon - I am somehow heartened that Conservatives haven't yet lost their sense of humor. The great thing about the cops is that they know what's real and what's "performance" which is why they didn't run up and shoot to kill like they are portrayed in the media. And if you asked them, they'd probably tell you that they knew they had nothing to fear about the Alt-righters. They were there to stop the anarchists and lefties from pummelling them. See: Shia's arrest...

And since Shia's whole concept was "He Will NOt Divide Us" and then he proceeds to pummel an Trumpster, exactly who was he speaking hoping not to divide? The Leftist and the Anarchists?

Howdy folks! Sorry there was no article. I've been unexpectedly swamped with work and other stuff the last two days.

Well, this Flynn thing keeps getting stranger. Flynn lied to Pence but not Trump and Trump thinks Flynn did nothing wrong and has sworn to find and destroy whoever leaked the fact Flynn talked to the Russians, but Trump is also the guy who asked for Flynn's resignation.

I had a bad feeling that Flynn would hurt Trump from the moment I read he was advising him on foreign policy. I got a really bad feeling when he became the NSA.

This is so educational! Who'd have ever thought that there was somebody on this earth, a New Yorker no less, that Shia LeBoef could beat up? Did the person have asthma or MS or something? How old was he? Thoughts... :)

The libs are in a meltdown over Milo being on Bill Maher's program....it could only be worse if Milo were gay and a person of colour with a Latino surname and a Trump supporter....I love it.

AndrewPrice said...

Howdy folks. Sorry for the lack of posts I've been dealing with some nasty cold or something. I'll be back soon.

AndrewPrice said...

Critch, Milo is a turd, but he's exposed the left very nicely.

Anthony said...

Reading a summary of Milo's appearance on Maher and his poo flinging contest with Wilmore reminded me of why I long ago wrote off all three men but the talk of the transgendered reflects something strange happening at my local Target. It is building a third bathroom.

Oddly that seems to be a national trend. Strikes me as an expensive way to solve an uncommon problem. Target's activism seems to be costing it money.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2016/08/17/target-single-stall-bathroom/88896468/

The company already had single-stall bathrooms that anyone can use at about 1,400 of its 1,800 stores, Target spokesperson Katie Boylan said.
Target is not altering its transgender bathroom policy, which allows people to "use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity." That policy, announced this spring, drew opposition from some conservative activists who vowed to boycott the chain.

Norma McCorvey a prolifer who is famous as the 'Roe' of Roe v Wade is dead. RIP.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/christinerousselle/2017/02/18/norma-mccorvey-the-jane-roe-in-roe-v-wade-who-eventually-became-a-prolife-activist-dies-at-69-n2287726

McCorvey was 22 when she found herself pregnant out of wedlock, poor, and struggling with addiction, and sued the state of Texas looking to change the state's abortion laws. By the time the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade in 1973, she had already given birth and had placed the child up for adoption.
After decades of work advocating for abortion rights, she became a born-again Christian in 1995 and abandoned that movement entirely and quit her job at an abortion clinic. She was later received into the Roman Catholic Church in August of 1998. She was confirmed by Fr. Frank Pavone, the director of Priests for Life. She called her work to legalize abortion the "biggest mistake" of her life.
After her stunning conversion to the pro-life side, McCorvey remained active in the movement and attempted to overturn Roe v. Wade. She spoke at the March for Life, and was arrested protesting Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's Senate confirmation hearing.

On a happier note, the Blind Sheik is dead.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/blind-sheikh-linked-1993-world-trade-center-bombing/story?id=45582741

Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, a blind Egyptian cleric serving a life sentence in the United States for conspiring to blow up New York City landmarks, died early Saturday morning, federal officials said.
According to a statement from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons, Rahman died Saturday at approximately 5:40 a.m. ET "from natural causes after a long health battle with diabetes and coronary artery disease." He was 78.
His next of kin has been notified of his death, the statement said.
Rahman, known as "the blind sheik," was sentenced to life in prison in 1996 for his advisory role in a plot to blow up landmarks, including the United Nations, and several bridges and tunnels throughout New York City. He was also linked to a bombing at the World Trade Center in February 1993 that killed six people and injured more than 1,000 others.
