Back In My Day...

It has become a click bait world. I wonder if people of the past would have fallen for this?

● How George Washington looks now will amaze you!

● Someone says something stupid and the Internet loses its mind!

● Founding Fathers who are now broke!

● FDR has perfect two minute response to Twitter troll!

● A new super leach doctors don't want you to know about!

● Did Nazis influence election of FDR?

My condolences to the church shooting. What a sick bastard.

Ha, good observation. I have a hard time believing people could fall for this garbage but sadly I don't see Buzzfeed, Upworthy, and their brethren going away any time soon.

And cue the usual calls to ban guns and besmirch people of prayer. Is it just me, or is the left getting increasingly ugly and ghoulish with each shooting headline?

I just got this article passed to me a moment ago: Make Britain Safer: Bring Back Pistols

It attributes the drastic fall in crime from 1500-1900 to the "invention and proliferation of compact, concealable, ready-to-use firearms" and, likewise, attributes more recent increases in crime to their prohibition. I'll leave it to you fine folks to read for yourselves.

Wait, are you saying that FDR doesn't really have a Twitter account? So, the that may mean TR prolly can't really ride a horse either, right?

However I will never, ever click on anything with the words "leech" and "doctors" in the same sentence...

I love the left. Now that it's coming out that this shooter is a militant atheist, they're turning against Google for not burying this bit of information. Idiots.

They are also already starting with the "how the Democrat blew it in Virginia" stories before the voting even begins. I guess they see some writing on the walls there.

And they're starting to worry about the moderate Saudi prince-in-line-to-be-king arresting hardliners so he can remake their version of Islams. Apparently, one of the guys arrested once spoke poorly of Trump, so they're worried this is about helping Trump. Ha ha.

Bev, As Ben Franklin said, "Don't trust anything you see on the internet."

Seriously though, I have to wonder if prior generation would so easily let their brains re-adjust to cynical 140 character commentary that is little more than "yo' candidate so fat".

tryanmax, Chelsea Handler was the first. She attacked Republicans. Then Will Wheaton of all people did the same, adding a sneer at religious people. Basically, they're cool with it. Kind of like they were cool with it when the country music concert got shot up. White trash, you see. They vote Republicans. They need to die.

The church shooter once fractured his infant son's skull. He should have served more time than the year he got.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/06/texas-church-shooter-reportedly-fractured-stepsons-skull-on-purpose.html

“He assaulted his stepson severely enough that he fractured his skull, and he also assaulted his wife,” retired colonel Don Christensen, formerly the chief prosecutor for the Air Force, told the Times. “He pled to intentionally doing it.”

As punishment, Kelley was confined in military prison 12 months, received a reduction in military rank and was discharged for “bad conduct” -- a step above a dishonorable discharge.

Speaking of violent jerks I wonder what the deal is with the neighbor who attacked Rand Paul? Whatever his motives hopefully much heavier charges are coming his way.

The Air Force really blew it on this one. His name should have been entered in the FBI database as a convicted domestic abuser, but they blew it. he also should have been given a DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE but for some reason only got a Bad Conduct discharge..

The Rand Paul attack was bad. He has 5 broken ribs and bruised lungs. What could have caused that attack?

Btw, my first thought when I read about his attack was am I the only one who noticed that a long-time Senator and Dr. was actually mowing his own lawn?

internet really is a click bait game. Some of them get very inventive to get touch screen gadget people to press on the wrong area of the screen. As far as how George looks now, I strongly suggest going to Mount Vernon if you get the chance. There are three figurines of him that were made using the life-size sculpture, plus the life mask and some surviving clothes. They used state of the art programs to determine how he would look at different ages. My point is, it is the closest you can come to meeting the real GW face to face as he looked at 19, at Valley Forge, and at inauguration
