A quick congratulations to Virginia tonight for doing the right thing. It's about time. If Biden wasn't already a lame duck, this should make that status clear. Let's hope this is the beginning of some sanity.

I agree, congrats to Virginia. The Critical Race Theory (CRT) Marxist crap is what drove people to Youngkin. Hopefully Youngkin governs well and the state prospers as a result.
I wish Democrats would look at this and realize they need to go more moderate with the positions they hold... However I have a feeling they will double down and warp this loss into a reason to go further into Leftoid BS land. ):

The mere fact that Democrats may actually loose New Jersey is amazing to say the least.
Anyway, I hope someday you find the time to revamp your movie blog! There are some great movies to roast & some actually good small indie films worthy of praise.

I'm floored about both Virginia and New Jersey. Republicans barely exist in New Jersey, so being close so a shock. Biden won Virginia by 10% and New Jersey by 16%, so this is truly a repudiation. Dispanding the police got crushed in Minnesota too.
I have been looking for movie to review, but haven't found much of late. I will at some point, though. Send me some names to watch! :)
Jed, I'm really amazed. I'll be curious how the left tries to spin this. I think the answer is obvious, but they won't accept that the public just won't accept them. I guess we'll see how things go, but this has the potential to swing things back.
Welcome back Andrew! I've been thinking of you and praying for you. I hope that your health is good. Incredible about New Jersey. So happy about Virginia. McAuliffe is a complete whore and it was sweet to see him lose. At first he didn't want Biden and Harris to be associated with him. Then he let them campaign for him. He tried to tie Youngkin to Trump. Then he said that this election is about local issues, not about Donald Trump. THEN he went back and started talking about Trump again. When the Lincoln Project pulled that stupid stunt he waited for a day to see how it would play out and only when it got exposed and people showed their disgust for it did he disavow it. He danced on stage like a trained monkey. He never talked about his previous record as governor. I stopped reading Esquire magazine when George Bush the younger was president. But somebody wrote an article for them that said that politicians agree to degrade themselves for us sand in return we allow them to govern us. McAuliffe brought that 20 year old article to mind. He has no beliefs. He has no dignity. I think the people of Virginia should do to him what they did to Cersei Lannister. Strip him naked and walk him through Richmond while people shout insults and throw their own dung at him. If he had won how would anybody respect a man like that?So much. The Virginia elections were a pleasant surprise for sure! I was half-expecting shenanigans but McAuliffe's concession put a nice end to that. Near as I can tell Youngkin managed to avoid the usual weeds that trip up GOP candidates, especially in blue states, and took full advantage of Democrats' insanity on an issue that you've repeatedly pointed out matters greatly to the public. And how much do you think it's burning up the Wokists that Virginia's first black woman Lt. Governor is a gun-toting Marine veteran Republican daughter of an immigrant? I'm definitely looking forward to seeing if Mrs. Sears has star potential. Oh, and Virginia's first Hispanic Attorney General is a Republican, too, for extra salt in the Wokie wounds. The GOP could very well fall back into all of its old bad habits next year of course, both in terms of bad candidates, bad platforms, and letting the Dems get away with their usual dirty tricks, but this is the best I've felt about politics in a long time. :)
The spin on this seems to be what it always is … racism, demagoguery, and, lol propaganda. I swung by Breitbart and saw an article showing the celebrity panic tweets. My God, these people are adults, yet they act like children
Hi GypsyTyger! Thanks for the well wishes and the kind thoughts. It's been a rough year, that's for sure. It seems like every time I get something fixed, something else breaks. But I feel pretty good these days, so fingers crossed!
You mention the Lincoln Project. What should just shock me, but no longer does, is that they were caught trying to smear and slander someone in a way which they claim is inviolate -- an accusation we should always accept as true without question -- and yet the left just shrugs their shoulders.
The left has zero intellectual value, zero honesty and zero integrity. Could you imagine having so little integrity that you willing accept that your friends and allies need to lie to defeat the other side, that you are afraid to tell anyone what you truly believe, and that you are fine being a creature of deceit? Why would you want to live like that? What kind of pathetic human being are you at that point? And yet, they view themselves as morally superior to everyone else.
Daniel, I'm seeing the rise of minority Republicans and it's going to cause all kinds of problems for the left.
I was really surprised to see what happened in Virginia. It told me something I've suspected for a long time, which is the GOP COULD take back everything if they can find issues to attract soccer moms. They are the ones who swung this election.

You were right, the left's reaction was predictable. They're arguing that racism won and that the answer is to go harder on the things that caused them to lose. The only downside to that is that Dems tend to push thru leviathan bills when they're in that mood.
The left's other coping mechanism seems to be obsessing over the Kyle Rittenhouse trial and working to stoke up a riot regardless of the outcome.
